  • In August 2022, officers were notified of an incident involving a civilian who prevented a woman from getting into her car. According to the 911 call report, the caller stated that the woman had admitted to consuming an entire bottle of wine and was attempting to buy more alcohol. Officers arrived on the scene to investigate the situation further."

      When I worked for CPS, I had the best interactions with police. They always met me when I was going to a residence where there was a report of neglect or abuse. They supported the cause as much as anyone.

      Yes, the cop was rightfully enraged and he simply refused to play into her bs. Realize he has dealt with many many drunk people and they are extremely stupid and annoying. And realize he has seen first hand the bloody tragedies caused by drunk drivers. I felt his attitude was perfect. He did not allow her to parade her embarrassing condition onto him and he was firm and no nonsense.

      Yeah a girl I went to school with got her daughter killed that way. Broughther 4 year old to the bar and decided to drive home with her on her lap. Crashed, and the little girl went out of the front windshield. She only got 3 years in jail….

    I'm a recovering alcoholic and I would like to offer a glimpse of her perspective. She has normalized her behavior to the point where she literally doesn't think she's done anything wrong or out of the ordinary. I'm not excusing her behavior.     That teacher did not only give a statement, but she entertained the boy and took the time to connect and indulge him. Getting up so he can show her something, talking to him. Not just sitting there and ignoring him. Great woman in my book. Really wish my teachers were like her even a little. This small glimpse says so much.

      If she only received two months probation, she obviously wasn’t as drunk as the call in was claiming.
      It has zero to do with anything else
      3 quarters of a bottle of wine during an all day move likely put her at a .06 area.

      3/4 bottle of wine is appox 3 glasses- by 5pm. I'd say she blew below the legal limit and I believe 4200 fine was too much for "neglect" when I believe she was legally under the limit.

Whether we like it or not, these are still people God created. They are not people you get to treat like trash because of your feelings.     I will be a year sober from alcohol on March 19th, 2024. Videos like this one here serve as a stark reminder of where my head once was… I chose to get help for my drinking, and it was the best thing I ever could have done for myself. It doesn’t take much to start going down that slippery slope… before you know it, you’re drinking in your car alone, and getting behind the wheel to drive… potentially putting yourself and others at risk because of your selfish behavior. I’m so happy I don’t have to deal with that nagging urge to drink anymore. For those who are struggling, there is a way out. It’s called reaching out for help…

    I’m three weeks sober and watching these is really helping me out. I have a few videos of myself acting insane that I got from my security cameras at my house, I’m saving those for when I really am jonsing for a drink.       I’ve got 19 days. I’ve drank on and off since I was a teen. I’m 71, now. I just don’t like it any more or the way it makes me feel. It’s weird how you don’t want it, but the cravings can be overwhelming! Watching videos like this applaud sobriety ! I got pretty crazy at times in my younger years. By the grace of God I never had a dui. Makes me sick to think about! Wait until these people sober up and realize what a mess they’re in! Keep going with being dry! You almost have a month and you’re doing your body a world of good!❤❤

    Recovering alcoholic here with a little over 6 years sober. This was me until a non-injury accident DUi with my kids in the car changed my life forever. It was the best and absolute worst day of my life. I pray that she finds the help she desperately needs. Worst. hangover. Ever. The splitting headache and nausea in combination with 100+ degree weather and heavy lifting 🤢 I haven't had a sip of alcohol since, that was 2 years ago.

      It wasn’t legally entitled he was determining. The very fact that he was grandpa and the last names checked out was entitlement enough. He was running the grandpa through the sexual offenders registry. Which would restrict possession of a child even blood related. That’s why the officer asked him about criminal charges and he said I’ve only had two DWI’s

      if she has a real problem, she’ll go to treatment herself. that or something bad will happen, or both. a bottle of wine isn’t really THAT much. it’s not okay or justifiable to have a kid in the car with you, but if you do drink on a daily basis, the wine isn’t that much of a problem. that leads me to think she doesn’t do that, because she’s being weird and acting more drunk than someone who always drinks would.

      I totally agree! Sadly, too many states consider DUI a “traffic ticket” now. This is different because of the child, but it pisses me off how many just have to be arrested and bail out for a minimal fee, pay a fine and SOMETIMES complete a class (which is a joke). The entire US needs to take a stance and reassess our DUI policies.

      She was not charged with DWI. They never saw her driving and cannot prove she was driving drunk. To me the child neglect and endangerment is the more serious crime. The sentence should have been jail and a long probation for that offense. Not 2 months probation and a $4200 fine. Money grab.

    Thank God for that good Samaritan who stopped this drunk woman from taking that child in her car. They may have saved several lives! Also, thank goodness the child's teacher just happened to be there to take care of the kid and distract him while the cops conducted their investigation. No kid wants to see their parent being hauled off in handcuffs.

      @@supportiveduck My understanding is that if you don't pay your fine you go to jail on a pay or stay warrant. $4200 is probably good for 42 days in jail at minimum.

      Could be a neurological issue. I have MS and it can cause issues with speech and balance that makes me look drunk when I'm totally sober.

I try to give some people the benefit of the doubt, but considering these circumstances, he very well could be drunk too. my dad used to be an alcoholic, 2 years sober, but he was very good at hiding it from everyone except my mom, so my observation skills aren't the best in that regard.

      The truth of the facts, more people die from smoking than from DUI, Suicides, guns, and auto accidents combined. We have problems with DUI, but it is a small count of the many issues that we have.
      And b4 some one sprouts off that smoking harms only the smoker, here's a another interesting fact that few people know, smoking 2nd hand deaths are more than DUI.
      Like DUI, smoking is preventable but nobody looks at it in the same way.

    The store clerk saying she appears fine is just her covering her azz for selling alcohol to an already intoxicated person.
    The cops should automatically be allowed test these criminals blood without a warrant especially when they are supposed to be in charge of children. What is scary is that how many other times has she done this but didn't get caught?

      I’m not sure how the laws vary from state to state, but I’m fairly sure the clerk can be fined, the store can be fined and the store could quite possibly have their liquor license revoked.

      I'm with you, but with one major exception. NO blood draws without a warrant. The only thing that this changes is that it possibly takes a bit more time for the procedure to be performed. I say "possibly", because such warrants seldom take very much time to procure. We don't need cops demanding invasive medical procedures when they're already under the emotional stress and influence of the situation at hand.

      He was not communicative. He was badgering. "So you thought it was a good idea...?" Dude, at that point, she's already told you what she did. Trying to get her to admit it was a "good idea" is just unnecessary. Arrest her quietly and be done with it.
