- In August 2022, officers were notified of an incident involving a civilian who prevented a woman from getting into her car. According to the 911 call report, the caller stated that the woman had admitted to consuming an entire bottle of wine and was attempting to buy more alcohol. Officers arrived on the scene to investigate the situation further."
i love when officers take child neglect and child endangerment seriously
Me too!

When I worked for CPS, I had the best interactions with police. They always met me when I was going to a residence where there was a report of neglect or abuse. They supported the cause as much as anyone.
Amen to that

I’ve seen videos where the officers talk to the person for WAY too long before finally talking some action. This guy takes no b.s.
“I’ve been drinking wine because I’m moving.” Sounds like a valid reason to endanger your child and everyone else on the road.

Any reason will suffice I guess. Crazy.
Right?!? Wtf 😣
Maybe she meant "breathing"....

The idea that police should immediately go hands on is stupid. Also, part of why the police allow people to talk is to gather evidence and further incriminate themselves.

3 quarters of a bottle of wine during an all day move likely put her at a .06 area.
Here in the UK she would lose her license and probably do time .
3/4 bottle of wine is appox 3 glasses- by 5pm. I'd say she blew below the legal limit and I believe 4200 fine was too much for "neglect" when I believe she was legally under the limit.
I’m in Scotland where we are stricter than the rest of the UK mind you at 22 micrograms per 100 ml breath test . Which means you would be over the limit here with what she drank for sure .

The entire US needs to take a stance and reassess our DUI policies.
She was not charged with DWI. They never saw her driving and cannot prove she was driving drunk. To me the child neglect and endangerment is the more serious crime. The sentence should have been jail and a long probation for that offense. Not 2 months probation and a $4200 fine. Money grab.
They couldn't charge her with DUI because they never saw her drive. But - you are right, people who get convicted of DUI/DWI have the highest recidivism rate of all repeat offenders.

The $4200 fine is probably more damaging. This is Florida. People aren't exactly rolling in money.
@@wurm90125 Odds are she still hasn't paid it and probably won't be forced to.
@@supportiveduck My understanding is that if you don't pay your fine you go to jail on a pay or stay warrant. $4200 is probably good for 42 days in jail at minimum.
BRAVO! No arguing, no crap...just off to jail. 👍👍👍
Give her the Mom of the Year award! 🥇 For not drinking and driving with her child in the car. She actually grew Wings and flew to the gas station for more wine. That’s fantastic. She’s a Great Mom! 👏
@PatriotsRule-LiberalsDrool Red bull doesn't go wel with wine though, much better with Vodka!
@@keesmills2019 I Love Vodka! 🤷♀️🤣
@PatriotsRule-LiberalsDrool Hey, if you take shots of vodka and chase them with Red Bull, after enough shots and chasers I bet you would grow wings! 🪽🤣
Drunk flying with wings with a kid sounds even more dangerous than driving imo. There should be a charge for it🤣
🤪
When a person drives drunk with a child in the car, that should count as attempted murder.
No, it should count as endangerment and neglect, because that’s what it is, there was no attempted murder, murder is a very particular legal definition
The old man at the end had a drunken demeanor even sober lol
That's called " pickled brain"
Could be a neurological issue. I have MS and it can cause issues with speech and balance that makes me look drunk when I'm totally sober.
I thought the same thing. He appeared intoxicated to me. The color of his skin, his speech and movements. Poor kid 😞🤦🏻♀️
@@onionbubs386, I have MS as well. This man appeared drunk for more reasons than just his speech. I come from a family of drunks and alcoholics. Even the color of his skin said intoxicated to me.
@@ToLoveIsToLive89 that's fair. I try to give some people the benefit of the doubt, but considering these circumstances, he very well could be drunk too. my dad used to be an alcoholic, 2 years sober, but he was very good at hiding it from everyone except my mom, so my observation skills aren't the best in that regard.
DUI penalties are not severe enough.
Change the laws
...even worse are child predator penalties.
@@christopher7952….that’s literally what democracy is. go away lmao
Soul crushing to see this, thank goodness his teacher was there.
"Would you say she appears to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance?"
"No, I'd say she's drunk as a boiled owl."
Sometimes strangers DO need to speak up.
This comment ^^^🤌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We need to look after one another, geesh what a concept!
The fact that still in 2024 so many innocent people die because people think drinking and driving is ok is truly heartbreaking.
The truth of the facts, more people die from smoking than from DUI, Suicides, guns, and auto accidents combined. We have problems with DUI, but it is a small count of the many issues that we have.
And b4 some one sprouts off that smoking harms only the smoker, here's a another interesting fact that few people know, smoking 2nd hand deaths are more than DUI.
Like DUI, smoking is preventable but nobody looks at it in the same way.

Yeah, there are too many people/Al bots that love tyranny. It’s revolting.
In the old days, (10yo lol) a person would be mortified & ashamed to be caught drunk, with your child, by the child's teacher, driving. Not anymore. This woman is indignant. This officer is PISSED!
back in the day people were embarrassed to be seen pulled over for speeding or no blinker. people have no shame anymore.

"So you FLEW here" lol I love this cop!
That cop wasn't gonna take another 10 seconds of her BS
The store clerk saying she appears fine is just her covering her azz for selling alcohol to an already intoxicated person.
The cops should automatically be allowed test these criminals blood without a warrant especially when they are supposed to be in charge of children. What is scary is that how many other times has she done this but didn't get caught?
The manager sees drunk lady all the time and says drunk mother seems ok. So drunk driver is always wasted????
Yup!
I’m not sure how the laws vary from state to state, but I’m fairly sure the clerk can be fined, the store can be fined and the store could quite possibly have their liquor license revoked.
I'm with you, but with one major exception. NO blood draws without a warrant. The only thing that this changes is that it possibly takes a bit more time for the procedure to be performed. I say "possibly", because such warrants seldom take very much time to procure. We don't need cops demanding invasive medical procedures when they're already under the emotional stress and influence of the situation at hand.
I LOVED that officer’s attitude!

I absolutely love how Deputy Garcia handled this! He was stern, communicative, efficient and took the well-being of this child seriously!
He was not communicative. He was badgering. "So you thought it was a good idea...?" Dude, at that point, she's already told you what she did. Trying to get her to admit it was a "good idea" is just unnecessary. Arrest her quietly and be done with it.
@@JessePorter-r1w Sometimes officers do ask obvious dumb questions during the investigative phase before arrest. It's a part of the job.
@@sweettexastee I guess so. Did he have to be so argumentative though? He could've asked the same questions in a more professional way. He was yelling with so much aggression. Especially towards a woman, it's intimidating in an unnecessary way.
