Don Gillis is a BIG reason why Candlepin Bowling was such a success.
8:41 WOW!!!!
And Don knew the rules and was immediately able to explain to the viewers~
I was thinking he might lose dang what a close game.
That's why Tom is known as the GOAT.
thanks for the post 7-10-2022
That right lane was unpredictable. 1-9 chops on 3 separate occassions, and all the back wall action
Did Tom Olszta ever convert the Hi-Lo-Jackpot at the end of the show?
I heard him say on a podcast recently that he only did it once at 11 years old but never as an adult, ha!
42:45 CLUTCH.
A definite nail-biter--and this happened DECADES ago! I've just stumbled into candlepin bowling and think it's a far more interesting game than standard tenpins. Of course, I also like peanut butter on rye bread, so what do I know? :)
candlepin is kind of confined to new england, try it sometime if you can, it's almost as hard as golf. i like peanut butter on anything if that matters.
most guys stand in the middle and throw a straight ball, the lanes are all maple or some are synthetic now all the way from the approach to the pins, no pine and no oil. more a game of spares and pin count and less of strikes but they do happen, but not as numerous as tenpin hence the scores aren't as high.
@@steveperry1344 Uh. Yeah.
