I'm about 3 weeks to a month into the cultivation of what is going to be a glorious beard. I'm so happy I came across your video. Your review really helped in my decision to purchase this product. Your beard growth is spectacular and I'm using it as a template for what I'm aspiring to. Happy to subscribe.
Cool!
Honest Amish Premium is a must have too. Great ingredients, great value, great company. They're oil and balm are some of my favorite. I might try this extra hold one too.
Been using their balm for several years, always getting compliments. Thanks for sharing your experience and info.
Great video! I just picked this up at Walmart and it’s the first time I’ll be using products in my beard. One problem I’m having is I’ll find certain beard hairs that kinda hurt when brushed and I’ll pull them out which eventually leads to thinning spots.
Nice video and good explaining man. Just bought both products!
After watching this video earlier I went out and bought the beard balm. I love it. I've been using the oil for a few months now and have tried a different brand but came back to Honest Amish. I was curious about the balm because my beard is about the same length and size as yours. I bought it today and love it just as I do the oil. Great vid. Thanks.
Glad it helped.
I love Honest Amish's Heavy Duty Balm. Fantastic control that's easy to apply with a great fresh smell that's far from overwhelming. I haven't used their oil because I'm waiting to use up the oil that I already have.
Does the heavy duty give your beard a stiff feeling?
The best in my op !!
Your color and shape is epic Bro !
I love your beard and styling. I wished I had your help with mine. Thank you for all that you do.
Just keep it growing brother.
Good info, your beard looks cool. Ive got close to 3 years growing off my chin. I didn't like the lickerish smell at first but it's growing on me and my wife seemed to like it so that's cool 😎👍
I have this balm and i have found it also works great for your head hair. I have corse med/long hair and this stuff is way cheaper and works better than almost all hair products i have tried.
Simple Video with all the RIGHT INFORMATION. THANK YOU
You bet.
I am not new to beards. Just new to beard products. I have a white beard being 60 mow. I am doing the beard oil and then beard butter and then a heated brush and then thinking about using the beard balm at night. I comb after each products. What do you think?
I've ordered Honest Amish from their site and Amazon. They ship fast from their website as well. Great Company, I agree
I've tried a variety of companies, and Honest Amish is best value with a great scent.
Great review man! Im a big Honest Amish fan as well!
They make good stuff.
Hey buddy thanks for the review! I saw it last night and ended up placing an order on Amazon for the heavy duty beard balm. I've been using beard oils for some time now...found a locally made product (KC Beard Co.) that is my favorite but haven't delved into balms yet. Figured I'd give the Honest Amish a shot after viewing your vid. Your beard looks great--hold on to that barber!
Glad you liked it.
I like that you can purchase this a wal-mart too
fu@k walmart!
Your beard looks bad ass! Good job...much patience.
You should do a review on Ozark Mountain Men beard oil. Its what I use and it is awesome! I'll even send you some if you want
Your beard looks great. I use the Honsest Amish stuff too. I dont like the scented stuff, so I get the classic.
Great review! Been growing a beard off and on since getting out of the army, and never tried any of the beard care products out there until last week. I got the same Honest Amish oil but they were out of the balm, so I went with the Wild Willie's beard butter. Have you used that? And if so, how does it compare to the Honest Amish balm? Thanks again
Haven't used the Wild Willie's but I've heard good things.
Excellent review and descriptions. Thanks much!
Very welcome!
You're right on. I use them as well. Sidebar- Having a hairstyle very similar to yours. What do you use on your hair?
Thanks
My hair is real thick and stubborn so I have to use heavy hold pomades. My favorite lately is Upper Cut Deluxe regular hold and monster hold. Reuzel heavy hold is good too.
Just picked up the Honest Amish Beard Oil today. It is absolutely fantastic.
Yep. They're good.
Awesome beard man! Great review. I just purchased some of that same beard balm.
Awesome!
Nice video by friend told me about this product and got it this morning in Walmart. The oil was great my daughter and wife liked the smell.
Awesome.
I have been bouncing all around trying to find a beard oil and balm. You have swadded me to get this brand, I have been thinking of spending the money on Beardbrand but they are a bit much for my first purchase. I have larger beard, about half the size of yours, and I never used these kinda products. My beard is hard to manage and I want to fix that now. New subscriber.
SirReiken Central So what did you end up trying? You digging it?
I agree with you about the irritation that comes from some of these companies oils. I like most of the very same scents that you named off but have found small patches of irritation and couldn't put my finger on what the cause was. I think it's the combo of some of the oils myself. My beard is pretty long at 20 inches and I need a lot of oil but honest Amish is one that I don't remember causing any irritation so I might just get me another bottle. I thought my beard wasn't getting enough hydration so I bought more balm and butter but your video helped me see it's probably the high scented oils. Thanks!
Good deal my friend.
Awesome vid
Awesome review of Honest Amish. I'm waiting on some unscented bead balm from them. I'm super new to growing a beard (2 mo. in to my first beard), and have noticed some irritation. I didn't really think much of it because it's so minimal. I'm starting to thing maybe it could be due to the scents, like you said. Thanks again for the great review.
You bet.
I'm 64.My beard is right around your size. June 16th will be a yeard! I like honest Omish products. I love the smell. I like their beard oil,the heavy duty balm ,and the black bar of their soap. I order from e bay. The only complaint I have,is they won't leave me a positive feedback. I leave them one,pay fast, send people their way, but they won't leave me positive feedback. Strange. I now buy my beard balm from the bearded barber. Great old time scent. Goes on good not greasy or pasty ,or perfumey. I like honest omish, just wish they would respect a frequent customer.
Sir quick question. How long did it take you to grow your beard to that length and thickness? I've had mine going for about a year and a half and going to a barber next week to get it trimmed and shaped like yours. That is a mature beard and very awesome. Thanks for the advice on the oil and balm.
At the time of this video it was just under a year, with a couple trims on it already.
Just bought the oil today waiting on the balm my beard isn't tht thick yet awesome vid
I actually just started using beard balm and I have honest Amish balm as well. I like it so far and it smells pretty good. I'm 21 and I've been growing it for about 2 months so I'm hoping by month 3 by the end of November it will look alot better.
Cool!
Great video..im looking to get the pure due to having sensitive skin to fragrance being added to most.ever tried the Pure?
I haven't.
thank you for this video. very informative
You bet!
Awesome vid...im big on clove scent and im looking to change the brand ive been using for years...which oil and balm/wax would you recommend that smells like clove??
Hmmm. I would think any brand that has a texas spice or spiced citrus type oil.
Try honest Omish heavy grit. Smells like licorice and clove.Great balm. Their beard oil is good too.
How many drops of oil do u use on your beard?
Great looking beard man! Me personally if I use as much beard balm as you. My beard lights up like a disco ball in the sun. Lol! I also use Honest Amish HD BB. Works great. I'm going on 2 1/2 years without a single trim and the thicker balm helps keep my beard tamed. I live in south Texas and it gets humid as hell down here all year long.
Right on man!
I've been using Honest Amish beard oil and balm for about three months now (off and on), and I have to say that I have noticed a world of difference. My beard still sucks ... but this stuff has helped me make it look better.
Side note: It also really does wonders for my skin. I've found that I have dry, sensitive skin that is prone to drying out and blemishing. I will often use any leftover on my face and the difference is pretty much day and night.
Yep. My skin under the beard is very healthy using Honest Amish.
unfortunately, my beard is stiff and wiry. the plus side is, it keeps it's shape. the only thing i've done the last 20 months is daily hot rinse in the shower and a shit load of oil after. did i read that a balm will help seal in moisture? that would be the only reason i'd use it. just got serious about softening my beard and have started a regiment of conditioning and so on.
Yes a balm should because it will have more wax in it. Plus it will help control the shape/style.
Probably a stupid question.. i´m totally new to the product. I just bought it.. BUT, does this actually work when you don´t have muvh facial hair in the beginning? I read somewhere that the BEARD BALM is good when you DON´T have a big beard. But are in the beginning..
I'm not sure. Personally, I didn't start using balm until I needed some control over the beard...styling control if you will. The oils did a great job keeping the skin, follicles and hair healthy in the beginning and then the balm helps later when you have some length.
Looks great! Have you ever used any coconut oil based products? Great shape too, going for something similar, although mine is fire red.
I haven't yet, but I'm a fan of coconut oil and its benefits, so I like the sound of coconut oil based products. Do you know of any?
Munson Mischief I actually just use organic coconut oil, but I think one could mix something at home to suits ones needs.
I have a video on my channel where I talked about using coconut oil. I love that stuff.
i have been using the honest amish beard oil premium and i have no dandruff no dry skin has improved growth and strength no itching and smells great
Yep. They have good stuff.
I bought this oil at Walmart for roughly $12. So far I'm happy with it. I've been using it for for it five days so far.
Cool.
this is really for anyone. my beard is roughly the same length to the guy in the video. however i do not shave my neck (trim is to about 5/6mm) and i do not really shape a neckline. im afraid to do it with a barber cause i dont really know what i want so i dont know what to ask for. how do i articulate it or should i just keep as is? i hope this makes sense
If it looks ok, just keep it as is. If not, just ask the barber to establish a line with the clippers exactly where you want. From then on, just lift the beard up while you shave your neck and shave clean up to that established line.
isn't that quite a lot of oil/balm at one time? I generally use balm for control during day and before bed I apply their oil to condition while I sleep. I also use their beard wash. excellent stuff.
I only use the balm or wax when I really need some added control, and even then I don't use much. But I do use about 1/2 dropper of oil every day.
Munson, I've got to say, AWESOME Beard and hair. Been wondering what type of hair cut to go with for a new style and i think i could pull of the cut witch makes that awesome beard stand out even more. I just turned 50 and i've had lots of people tell me that my white beard makes me look old. Like you I don't liked died beards and to me it only looks fake. I'm just wondering what the heck are you using on your face? Your skin looks as great as your hair and beard. Is your secret that your only 38/40 years old?
Thanks Mark for the kind words. To answer your question, first let me say that I am in fact 44. It can be said that the health of your skin and hair (outside) is a direct reflection of the health of your body (inside). We've never smoked, we quit drinking 5 years ago. We exercise almost daily. We eat very good and we take a ton of supplements...vitamins/minerals and fish oil and probiotics and greens blend. Oh, yeah, we also did a lot to remove stress from our life a couple years ago. Take good care of yourself, remove negatives and stress from your life. Your body (and beard!) will thank you for it.
My beard is the same color and texture as yours. I have not tried Honest Amish due to the yellow color of the balm. I'm leery of using anything with a color is being afraid it will tint the beard. That doesn't seem to be a worry for you. Have you noticed any color issue? Also, how is the absorption of both products? A lot of the stuff I've used doesn't absorb and stays greasy. Thanks in advance
I'd give zero worry to the color of the balms. The color probably comes from the wax in them.
As far as the absorption, I know exactly what you're talking about. One of the first very popular beard oil brands was that way. Once you put it one, you stayed "oily" all day.
In my experience, both The Beard Struggle, Honest Amish and Royal Beard Club are all excellent and don't leave you oily.
The bottom line though is you just have to try different brands to find your favorites. I tried and reviewed a few that were terrible.
Hey Munson please share your favourite strong smelling oils do you recommend any tobacco scents? was thinking of trying Grave before shave cigar blend beard oil
Don't have any one particular brand favorite for the stronger scents. But I do like any 'woodsy' like cedar or sandlewood...but I do also very much like tobacco smelling blends.
excellent video I started using honest Amish beard oil a couple weeks ago along with Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap excellent excellent combination
I just got some pine tar soap myself to try out.
Munson Mischief nice!
nice review and very nice gray beard👍🔥Beard on!
have you tried grave before shave? I'm from Australia and the shipping cost is nuts so when i buy i need to buy in somewhat bulk just wondering how they compare for you as i am a big fan of their company, cheers
No sir. I'm aware of the brand, but I've not tried their stuff yet.
I use their mustache wax. I enjoy it.
This man is Greg Berzinsky's doppelganger. What am amazing looking guy
Amazing video made me get honest Amish.
Wow,...that is a magnificent beard...amazing
Does the Honest Amish Beard Balm helps my beard to grow up ?? Please I need an answer before buying it..
Grow up? You mean grow better or fuller? I doubt it. You're genetics will dictate that mostly.
Any idea what the difference is between balm and the wax? How often do you apply? I may have missed it if you said. Also how often do you wash it out?
Balms are softer, designed for more conditioning the skin and hair...with a little bit of control. Waxes are more about control of the beard hair and shape.
If my beard is freshly trimmed and shaped, I use a balm, every morning. If I'm close to needing a trim and shape and its kind of wild, I use a wax to control it more.
I shampoo and condition the beard every 4-5 days.
Thanks for the clarification appreciate the response
Mr Munson can I ask you a person question I'm 36 years old and I started graying at a early age in life I'm salt and pepper at this age I too have a beard medium long I call it but I dye mine black for some reason I can't grow old gracefully which every one is telling me to do the dye thing is getting old as I been doing it for many years and I'm really thinking about giving it up how did you personally take or except your white hairs does it make you feel or think older just trying to get some advice from a person who's all ready there
I greyed at a young age too. Personally, I think you should drop the dyeing. Be who you are and your silver hair and beard is a part of who you are. Wear them proudly. But that is just my opinion.
Thank you my good man Thank you
Richard Johnson
I started greying at 25. I won't dye mine ever.
I have to agree with you on that one. But I am a lot older - I am 61, and I have just started growing my Goatee, which is 3-weeks old, and has come in totally gray/white and I do not ever plan on dyeing mine either and I do plan on letting my goatee grow quite long as well.
Thanks for the vid! Do you know if the balm works on mustache as well as the mustache wax?
The balms are going to give 'some' hold, but nothing like a mustache wax. Waxes, especially mustache wax, are for serious hold and styling. The mustache waxes I used when trying to grow out a handlebar, was very, very waxy and sticky. A balm or a heavy duty balm is good for styling and holding the beard, but I would use a separate product on the mustache if you're trying to style the stache.
Thanks for getting back to me
My Walmart just got this product. I'm stoked!
Where do you live?
I hope it comes to my Walmart where do you call home
I have had a beard for about 3 years and have used many oils and the classic oil is my favorite and for the price you can't beat it. check out y.s. park combs I have many Kent combs but the ys park comb is my favorite and my beard is the size of yours GODbless!!!
I'll check it out. Thanks!
try the ys 332 it's wide tooth on one end and closer on the other good for the mustache and the wide side good for the beard. my beard is thick and curly ND it works great
Good lord! Awesome beard brother!
You have a super nice beard!
What shampoo and conditioner do you use for your beard and how often do you use it?
Mostly a 2-in-1 from Every Man Jack. Sometimes an Argan oil based shampoo and conditioner. Usually wash it every 2-3 days, depends on how much sweating I do.
Great products!
So when you put the oil in. You put all the way to the bottom. And that helps also with the itching ?
Yep!
I love your haircut! Nice!
Thanks!
I used honest amish oil and bread guyz 1-2 wash and beard brand wax
Excellent video I subscribed. Cheers🍻.
Thanks!
How do you do your head hair? What products do you use and how long is it?
Not sure how long it is. I either part or comb straight back. High fade on the sides. I use heavy hold pomades like Uppercut Deluxe or Reuzel Blue.
Doing it big for the Beard World man... you gotta look... but you already know that 🤔 lol thanks for the video.
Love your video! Thanks for the info :)
Thank you sir!
Good video
Great review man! Wondering if, in your experience, is the fact that Honest Amish uses an uncommonly numerous amount of great carrier oils do you feel each carrier is lending different qualities to the product? I am launching a beard care product line and refuse to reduce my selection of carriers from 10 (for the oil) because I feel I need the benefits of all I have chosen. Awesome beard btw.
Man I'm not really sure. While I've used a lot of beard products, I've never studied greatly in depth the benefits of the different carrier oils and what not.
you look like Zeus
Just applied my first batch of this product. I like the small. Its a little thick like wax but good product. Nice beard by the way. have you tried Live Bearded yet?
Do you use this product everyday? And will it help you with patchy beards?
I use oil every day. Just a bit. I only use balms or waxes when the beard really needs some extra control.
No oil or balm will help patchy areas grow better. Your facial hair pattern is what it is, just like your head.
great review man what do you use to wash your beard and how many times a week do you wash it?
I used an argan oil based shampoo and conditioner on the beard...washed it about 2x / week.
Munson Mischief awsome thank you so much sir!
you look like Gandalf's security guard...
Ok.
😂
Lmbo! People are silly! Dont listen to nonsense. That beard is awesome. Wish I could grow a real beard.
I dont think this was meant as an insult
@@MunsonMischief Charles Manson's Beard Balm? Use this on your beard, and you will kill the ladies.
Does this product make your beard "oily" in a sense that that will it leave stains on your shirt if your beard touches it?
There is only 1 brand I've used in the past that was way to "oily" which is an odd thing to say about an oil. Lol. As long as you are not using way too much, it doesn't do that. On 1 or 2 occasions, I've used a little too much beard balm and felt a little greasy later, but that doesn't happen any more.
Do you have any suggestions for care as someone's beard grows out? Oils? Brushing? Care?
Have you used beardbrand styling balms? How do you feel about it?
I used Beardbrand right when they first came out with oils. At the time, I found their oils to be "too oily." I know that sound funny, but what I mean is after application, it didn't seem to work its way into the skin and beard hair...it stayed out like an oily coat. Weird. They may have improved since then, but I don't know. Plus they got VERY expensive.
I like mustard beard bath prior to beard oil
Sum Teng Wong Epic username.
What's a good wash and conditioner to use for beards?
I had been using an argan oil based shampoo and conditioner, free of parabens and phalates and what not. I think anything coconut oil based or argan oil based does well. Just wash and condition every 4 or 5 days.
Right now I'm testing (with video review coming soon) The Beard Struggle line which includes a beard specific shampoo and conditioner. So far I'm very pleased with it.
Hello my good man! How do we go about getting our products reviewed by you and that majestic beard of yours? Please let us know. Thank you!
Unfortunately, I've shaved the beard as I'm heading into a career in law enforcement.
Sad to hear, but congratulations! We can still do something cool. We do razors, shave soaps/gels/lotions, aftershave...Just a thought. Let me know!
Sounds good. What's the best way to message you so we can set something up?
Email us at info@detroitgrooming.com!
your Beard is on point. very nice
Thank you.
I know there are three oils, please tell me how each of the oils smell
The only oil reviewed in this video is the Honest Amish classic beard oil. It has a fairly natural, earthy smell. Not too strong.
Hi. I would like to know, if this oil does not hurt if I expose myself to the sun? Also, I want to know if it helps hair growth? and how many times does it apply to the day? Thanks, I hope you can answer me. good video and wonderful beard.
No, sun will not hurt the oil or your face.
Good nutrition will help beard growth.
I only apply once per day.
Munson Mischief
thanks and very good bideo.
This video is a couple of years old. Which balm would you recommend today? Which oils would you recommend today? I've got some Detroit Grooming beard butter in my cart, but, am trying to settle on a balm and oil.
Of all the oils and balms I've tried so far...The Beard Struggle, Honest Amish and Royal Beard Club are my favorites.
I haven't yet tried Detroit Grooming's beard products...only their hair products, which are really good.
@@MunsonMischief Detroit Grooming beard butter in the Leland scent, is freaking amazing, BTW. It's a mango and lime scent that smells delicious. It's been our favorite beard product that I've got for him thus far. He's been using that, and Seven Potions oil, but I'm back looking into Honest Amish. I guess I need to just pull the trigger already, but yeah, he's enjoyed both Detroit Grooming, and Seven Potions.
excelente
Good review. Very informative!
Try the bearded barber,Akron Ohio. You can order on eBay too. They have a great balm! Honest omish, and bearded barber. Top shelf products!!!!
Cool.
Does it make your beard softer tho. Does it work on red hair?
Using oils and balms for sure makes the beard softer.
The box said "helps grow and thickins the beard
Good review
Thank you.
Good review...
Thank you sir.
Thanks for the video....just subscribed....what shampoos do u like?....thanks in advance!
I actually just use a coconut oil or argan oil based shampoo and conditioner.
Munson Mischief
Nice....thanks
Awesome beard brother! Where did you draw your neckline when you started?
At first, at the crease of the neck and underchin. But then later I started letting it grow in from a line on my adams apple.
Munson Mischief Thanks dude. At what point did you start the line at your Adams apple?
Wow an awesome beard man 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤
So this is what Thor will look like when he gets a little older.
