FYI Brigitte (the tall redhead) is actually the daughter of Torbjorn (the blond midget from the original overwatch strike team) and Reinhardt is her Godfather. Rein saved Torbjorn's life on a mission, and as a gesture of thanks Torbjorn let Rein pick a name for his first child (which was Brigitte).

Sombra isn't Alejandra from that Soldier's cinematic but they both Mexican, Soldier's cinematic had place in map Dorado and when Sombra was about to release as in-game character Dorado screens on map were hacked by her

A little late to this, but for more context on DVA, the Korean government basically hired PRO gamers (the best of the best) to pilot mecha suits to fight off giant robots that emerge from the sea (like Pacific Rim) , no one knows how or why they emerge but its likely that theres a secret/abandoned underwater Omnic factory like the ones we saw in the Awakening shorts (the Anime looking ones).
DVA's story is so cool to me! She lowkey has the best job in ow in my opinion. gamer by day and crime fighter at night🤭

The guy at 1:18:30 couldn't have survived cos he got stabbed super deep with an energy sword from one of those robots at 1:15:15 right after saving reinhardt. So he basically tells reinhardt "I don't have enough time and won't make it, get to safety while I finish these guys"

@@thiaoshi oh yup THE age incident. Well not even an incident, it's just the team responsible for the lore are either careless or they were told by the higherups to make her so much younger, even if nonsensical, because they're trying to make her the new face of Overwatch instead of tracer.
@@thiaoshi But thats not all. According from their official novels Sojourn would have joined the army at 15 and had her robotic prosthetic surgeries at 13. Her twin sister at the time having a 5 year old child, meaning she gave birth at 14😶It just proves the ages they released were just complete bs with no thought behind them. They really just couldnt have women being old, because that wouldnt sell...

Actually, Cole Cassidy IS a cowboy name. Cole, which mean charcoal is the part that play on the fact that he uses a gun. And Cassidy is from a fictional cowboy named Hopalong Cassidy, one of the first cowboy that inspired all the western movies. Furthermore, they added a canon reason to the fact that his name changed when they announced it. It's the fact that he used to have fake aliases and went by them from a long time and that with the new overwatch he felt he had to go by his real name and be honest about himself.
Also, for Sojourn, lore wise she was really sick as a child, so I would like to point out that the only thing human in her is probably like only her brain, otherwise everything else was replaced by technology to keep her alive. She's a full on cyborg whose likeness was mirrored on her own and how her twin sister looks. So she might actually be wearing part of a wig or implants and those eyebrows are actually pieces of metal if you look closely enough XD

@@thiaoshi There's actually a whole book about her! That tells her story through the omnic crisis and a bunch before that. But not everyone outside of the lore nerds (like me ahah) know about it. Same thing with Orisa and her creator, there's a whole book. There's also one about Ashe and Cassidy before they parted (where he's still called McCree, although in the french translation, which coincided, he's called Cassidy)
@@thiaoshi Also the origin story was purposefully done to not spoil the book but also say that she testified and was a real weight for the shut down of overwatch although she was known as a high rank officer before then. It's more about her origin within overwatch than her actual origin tbh ahah
funny he acts more like Butch Cassidy then Hopalong Cassidy because there was historically and outlaw named Butch Cassidy he was with The Sundance Kid
Baldur, reinhardts friend couldnt survive because he had a sword impale his whole ass body, he definitely couldnt have went with rein he would just have slowed him down and then all the soldiers would die. So I wouldn't say that the sacrifice wasnt unnecessary.

not sure if it was fully explained to u but cassidy's name originally was jesse mccree, named after a blizzard employee i think, but it came out said employee like SA'd someone i think, so they changed his name to cole cassidy so he dont share a name with a bad guy lol

So they changed his name from Jessie Mcree to Cole Cassidy because the overwatch worker that mcree was named after was exposed for sexually harassing and assaulting another worker
