Ok here we go. Time to clarify the whole story. The dream he had about us being killed by the bear was somewhat true, the listener was injured and almost dead, but not fully. Because of this an angel had to take the listener's place until she got better and took over her body. Now this angel WAS the listener just an alternate version but they shared memories and feelings. After the listener was better her angel "persona" had to leave the body and let the original listener take over again. The listener remembers everything, the bear attack, the relationship, all of it, except for the night where the angel revealed herself and left. The angel gave Rex one of her feathers so he would never forget. All of Rex's dreams were visions and the voices were his angel "persona" talking to him (I'm guessing) so he could prevent the future harm that would come to the listener's body, which was being controlled by the angel. And there you have it folks. That's what happened. Any questions? Edit: The angel version of us takes over so we can heal, so we switch over to her perspective until we do, but we don't remember or know that we were ever quote on quote "dead" or that our angel "self" took over, that's why we don't remember much and also why Rex started calling us his angel instead of Poppy.
