Thanks! Happy new year!
Best “POV” street shoot video on UA-cam. I watch a lot of them, but he pacing, lighting, documentary style filmmaking and narration and music was perfect. High quality! Keep making videos man, you’re talented and the recognition will come in due time.
Wow thanks man! Appreciate the kind words 🙏🏻
Toronto is a vibrant and beautiful city. Good luck and look forward to your exploration in Toronto.
IT thank you! Should be fun there 😎
Cool video. Nicely composed. Good luck with the move to Toronto
Thank you!
Moody music and pictures, great vibe, Ivan
Thanks man!
Man, its the start of 2021 and its already going to be a NICE one! Excited to see what the new new is and also what awaits you in Canada!
Thanks man! I'm excited, scared, just all the emotions! We'll see what happens when i get there
Can't wait to see your shots from Toronto. Canada is a beautiful country and my home.
Thank you! Can't wait to be there!
New year new place, can't wait to see that on your channel 🔥🔥🔥
Moody Den thanks! It’s gonna be interesting 😅
They’re both beautiful! great job as always with the pics and video. Felt like a farewell love letter to HK.
Thanks Alan! I'm going to miss HK!
It's gonna be a NICE one?!? 🥸 And man what timing for a video about Portra. Actually going forward for 2021 on my M10 I will be editing my files to look closer to Portra 400. And since I wont be shooting film as much, when I do I'll be shooting Portra. (after I finish up some cheaper stuff) But man.. leaving HK.. We talked about it before but it still hasn't hit me. To me you're my main view in HK. I know you'll be back sometimes but it just feels weird to know you're leaving. Anyways..Great video!
Alex On Streets can’t go wrong with that portra look, excited to see what you come up with! I’m finding it hard to believe that I’m leaving too haha, it’s gonna be interesting to see what the street scene is like over there 🤔 and yea, a nice video is coming soon.
It depends on how you shoot, process, scan and post-process your Portra, it will look different. There is no a unique "Portra look". Also the light makes it change a lot. I've shot Portra 400, Ultramax 400 and Fuji C200 the same day and when the lab gave me the scans, they looked all the same😂The lab scanned by default so I had to apply some corrections at home. Have a safe travel, you know😷Waiting for the next video!
yea no doubt the lab plays a big part. i have been going to a new local lab here for developing so that also might be a reason why the portra 400 shots looked different to me.
that was really relaxed. really cool ivan and the photos are just ingenious by the portra colors. 👌
thank you so much man!!
This popped up on my recommended and I'm so glad. Ive seen a lot of photography, and so many pictures that just don't click with me. I guess I just wanted to show some appreciation for your eye 😁
Good luck on your move, excited to see those Toronto videos.
Benjamin Ng thank you!
Wow, so much atmosphere in a shot at 6:22.
Thanks!
All the best to you, Ivan. Keep healthy!
thanks! stay safe too!
These pictures are beautiful , with a lot of emotion. Probably reflecting the emotion that you feel, leaving this wonderful city.
Thank you! A lot of feelings for sure on these last few photo walks!
The music was sooo soothing. I'm sure Toronto will be an incredible experience for you! Good luck on the move, man. You have a new sub, I'm really curious what epic videos you'll film in Canada
Thanks for checking the channel out! Not sure what's in store for me there but i hope it won't disappoint!
Love these shots! Particularly like the 800. Nice work
Although I will miss your remarkable photos of Hong Kong (which is one of my favorite travel destinations), I am so much excited to see how you take a photo of Canada! Where I live is an hour and half drive away from Toronto downtown. Welcome to my area and looking forward to seeing new chapter of your vids in Canada, Ivan!
Thank you! Excited for the fresh change of scenery as well, should be interesting!
Lovely video, Ivan. Your others convinced me to cop an FM3a and it's seriously rejuvenated my love for 35mm. Now I'm looking into a digital Leica M. Thank you for your content and safe travels!
The Nikon FM3a is probably one of the best film cameras out there. Well built, accurate and so easy to use. Congrats on the new camera!
Absolutely a great video and love the film shooting bro
Thank you!
Lomo 400 and Lomo 800 are great films too.
Albert Chan totally agree, great film stocks at a better price point 👍🏻

Bonjour! (that's all of my french) Hope to visit someday!
@@ivunchow Bonjour! 5 hours of driving from Toronto, can’t wait to see your new Leica!
Wow, good for you! A new adventure. Best of luck in Toronto! During my visits, I was always impressed with its diversity, cosmopolitan feel and cleanliness. You do know it's cold as balls there tho? Look forward to more of your short films and seeing what's in that bag. You're such a tease...
Thanks! I'm excited to see what's ahead, maybe less excited about spending half of the year freezing my ass off.
I really love your work and Hong Kong is a beautiful city. I really want to visit sometime in the future.
Hope you get a chance to!
damn this video really inspired me!! i'm from hong kong too and i've been having a tough time looking for interesting pictures take, ironically at the spots that you were at
影同拍片都非常好! Impressive work ! All the best !
Thanks!
Like the results on the Porta 400 pulled 1 stop in camera
Since I am catching up with your videos from the beginning I hate to miss the BW scenes where you sit down in your room talking with the view through the window.
It is very typical for your videos
I am even thinking about it to freeze frame a shot and printing it.
Well I am ready now to continue to watch your work from Canada
Still enjoying it a lot
Great video and shots! Almost makes me want to drop $20 on a roll of Portra... Almost
I’ve never shot 800 before but might be willing to give it a try after watching your video! Great one Ivan!
Its really good for street
Portra 160/400 is using new formula(vision3), it may provide clean and sharp image, also can be better dynamic range for underexpose.
Meanwhile, portra 800 is old formula, it better overexpose for even 3 stops. It provide more saturate image just like porta 400uc.
Thanks for sharing that, I had no idea!
HNY Ivan! All the very best with the big move - and looking forward to future vids of the new home when you get to it.
happy new year to you too! i'm also looking forward to it, not sure what to expect lol
@@ivunchow expect the northern chill lol!
Very nice video, I enjoyed it a lot! I just have a few questions regarding your two cameras used in the video. My XD7 failed and I can't choose between those two cameras.
- How the lenses compare, are M mount ones (that much) better than F mount ones ?
- Is the CL reliable enough?
- Overall which one do you enjoy the most?
Thank you very much for your insight
for most of this time i was trapped home because, well covid
thank's for showing me things about the place i live in i dont even notice
Dang, the music is so nice
am33cloud not offended at all lol
Amazing video!! I realize this was awhile ago, but do you like to meter Portra 800 at 400, and then develop it at box, similar to what you do with Portra 400?
Again, great vid!! New subscriber 🤟🏼
Yea that's what a usually do. Just gives me a bigger margin for error.
Very nice video and beautiful images! Did you shoot the Portra 800 at box speed? All the best for your new Toronto chapter!
I usually rate my film at a lower speed, so 400 if I’m shooting 800
@@ivunchow Thank you!
Great video! I love the silhouette at 3:32! I'm curious, how did you meter? Did you meter for the highlights (and let it over exposure a bit) or for the inside shadows? Great stuff
Will usually pay more attention to the highlights. Really depends on the situation and what film stock I’m using
How does the 28mm work with the rangefinder of the leica cl? I was thinking about investing in one for my cl, but wasn't sure if it covers the focal length.
Really nice review. I just bought Nikon FM3A. I also have the Zeiss Biogon 28mm f2.8 ZM on my Konica Hexar RF (plus 35mm f2 Biogon and 50mm f1.5 Sonnar). How do Nikkor 28mm f2.8 compare with Zeiss? And what other good lensses do you recommend for FM2A? Thank you! Liked, subscribed!
Thanks for the sub! Im actually very pleased with the nikkor 28 2.8, its surprisingly good for the price. If I had to compare them, I think the zeiss has a bit more character. They're both great lenses.
Awesome video and shots. What canera n lens do you use for video ?
Filmlobster thanks! Mainly Gh5, sometimes A7R3, Panasonic 12-35 or sigma 40 F1.4
@@ivunchow thank you so much. Much appreciate it 😀
すごくクールな動画だ!
Wow, I’m
subscribed the moment i watched this video! i was absolutely mesmerized by the films and they were so insightful since i am currently stuck between choosing the 400 or 800😌
Hey thanks for the sub! 400 and 800, both great film stocks, hope you find the one you're looking for. Nice name btw.
Thanks! All the best for Canada. You shoot Portra 400 at 200. So do I more or less: 2/3 stop lower. How do you shoot Portra 800?
Usually at box or will sometimes rate it lower depending on lighting
hey did you pull the 800 or did you shoot it at box speed
Rated it at 400
Hey! what do you use for your video work?
GoPro, GH5, these days more with the Leica SL2-s
在多伦多保重 还没来得及回去香港找你拍你就搬家了 以后有机会去加拿大的话要一起出去拍一拍
Would anyone be kind to recommend underrated districts to shoot photos? (I’m tired of shooting at shopping districts like Mongkok,)
Tin Shui Wai & Tsuen Wan was my favorite outside of the usual places. Made some videos there if you’re interested 😉
What genre of music do you use
CODED Fotography a bit of everything really, modern/traditional jazz for this one, usually some kind of hip hop for my other videos.
What do you use for videography?
Panasonic GH5
800>160>400
