An animated Silmarillion adaptation would be amazing, and I think it could actually do justice to the epic scope and scale of the mythos in a way live action couldn't. Would be amazing to see a well-done series in a beautiful art style like this one, or even an anthology with different studios adapting different parts of the story with their own artistic style and visual approach.
So, you all might not know this, but the animated movie The Hobbit by Rankin/Bass from 1977 was in fact already an "anime" movie. Many of the artists who worked for Japanese studio who created this film went on to form Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki's world famous animated movie house. The late 70s anime style was already pretty close to the 80s.
Those versions definitely have their charm. I enjoyed them a lot as a child. I love the look and feel of the hypothetical series in this video, but yes...the Rankin/Bass films are for sure our anime LOTR.
Bastante buena. Muchísimos errores en las imágenes de Mordor, Isengard (Orthanc), Minas Tirith, y hasta de las casas de la Comarca. Galadrial más joven que Arwen, casi todos con orejas de elfo... La verdad, 4...5 puntos en general.
Thank you, it makes me happy to see a comment like that, really 🙏 If my videos can inspire, relax, make people happy, I'm happy too. There is nothing more motivating ✊🔥
The drawing looks like an 80's anime and sometimes like an western cartoon of that era. But the colors are more similar to modern anime/cartoons. They should be more saturated.
Y'all...A Japanese animation studio called Topcraft did the 1977 Hobbit film.. before it reformed into Studio Ghibli. The only reason it doesn't look like "anime" is the designs were done by Rankin/Bass
@@rustmonster1e You have to remember that it was not uncommon for Western animated films and shows to be done in Japan back then if they were done by studios not named Warner and Disney, who basically had a lock on the Animation Studio landscape back then. Most animated films and shows not done by either were actually done by Japanese studios, as the studios would be cheaper, but the other company paid better than what they could get from their own networks. Miyazaki's dislike is more due to the fact that his works were meant to draw on Japanese folklore and such, and didn't want the comparisons. But one needs to keep in mind that a lot of Ghibli's style was developed from doing Western works, as well as using older manga and anime designs, specifically Osamu Tezuka's works, which are very clearly influenced by Early 20th Century Western Animation, specifically Warner's earlier works.
If I'm not mistaken and I know I'm not because I own them. The LoTR and the Hobbit were originally animated way before Peter Jackson did live action versions of the books.
Having this done in the hand drawn style of the 80s would be epic. But it would be so much work, would take almost an army of animators always being on the same page and even then, it would be a years long endeavor, but damn would it be worth it
It's impressive how different this is from the movies. Impressive in a good way, don't get me wrong. I especially liked the pieces for Mordor and the Nazgul.

Mindblowing stuff! I like all of the random scenery shots. A lot of pages in the books are dedicated to just describing how the natural world of The Lord of the Rings looks, and while New Zealand has some great locations; it doesn't quite match Tolkien's vision, imo. But here, the AI effortlessly generates wonderfully magical looking sceneries. I think I can see some of the source materials' styles and aesthetics, like Vampire Hunter D. Always loved those animes. I need this technology to evolve, so that actual moving images can be produced, using it. But again: amazing images, and I also like your choice of music; really creates a kind of eerie, epic atmosphere.
Arwen and Elrond are half-elves and shouldn't have pointy ears. When Aragorn first met Arwen as portrayed in the appendices he does not realize she's an elf.
This looks awesome. If AI I would love a basic description of the process that describes what source material it uses and what tweaking happens after. To be fair and honest, anime didn't develop into its distinct style as everyone would know it as until the 90s. It began sooner, but Anime studios were still drawing heavy inspiration from Western studios due to how Osamu Tezuka, the Grandfather of Anime, based his style on older Western Animation. Japanese anime started with clear Western influences and developed its own style over the decades. And now, the roles are more reversed, with anime's design being a clear influencer of Western animation.

This is definitely a big step up from Rankin Bass' animation and it makes Uruk-hai distinguishable from Orcs. This is the first look we get at Sauron's face, without an iron mask.
