I have an '08 Honda Ruckus, stock GET 49cc, with aftermarket exhaust and carb, and extensive jet tuning. I am firmly convinced that there are more gains to be had from transmission mods than from basic engine mods. A good variator (I am currently running a Malossi) can make a big difference. Simply changing variator weights makes a huge difference, even with the stock variator. Example, my Ruckus came with 7g weights and was very sluggish, I swapped to 5.5g and greatly improved acceleration and top speed. I have an NCY CDI, which supposedly advances timing 2 degrees, but the only difference I can really tell is that it eliminated the rev limiter.
I'm in the process of overhauling an 07 I got for next to nothing. Polini variator, new clutch, bearings, and the metropolitan final drive trans upgrade. I'm actually starting with the trans before I work on engine, engine runs fine but the trans was in real bad shape.
Best way to see if it actually makes a difference is to use a timing light. All that a "performance" CDI can do to affect anything is have a different ignition timing curve, or a higher/deleted rev limiter. Run the bike with stock CDI, check ignition timing thru the rev range with a timing gun and marks on the fan/flywheel, then repeat for the aftermarket one. If the new CDI has more advanced timing (advanced as in it sparks earlier) then it should make more power and feel more responsive. Too advanced obv and you risk knocking. Sometimes you will need to use higher octane but you probably use high octane on a big bore anyway.
I put unlocked rev limiters on all my two stroke projects but I’ve only ever noticed a difference on my Honda nsr50. It was rev limited before to I think around 6000rpm. With the unlocked cdi it would go to 9000
Seeing you easy one-kick the Zuma made me envious. I just bought a Yamaha Razz off marketplace...I have an Elite and a Vino, but I didn't know the deal with the Razz. Single speed transmission without variator, and the most finicky little engine I've ever dealt with. I can barely walk because I've kicked the thing over so many times. I got it without the factory airbox, and apparently these things are nearly impossible to get right without that. As far as your CDI goes: if the spark is happening at the exact right time, it's going to burn the fuel more efficiently, meaning you need less fuel. OR the new advance curve is wrong for your setup, and the spark isn't happening at the right time(for that 75% throttle rpm point), meaning you can't get a complete burn, leaving some fuel left over and causing the engine to load up and break up. Either way it seems you fixed it with tuning 👍

that CDI unit allows for stronger voltage/current delivery upto 20,000 rpm, the reason you felt that bogging at low/mid range was rpm related the engine is being held back due to the CDI and the pipe. with a full on race pipe that can allow you to have a higher rpm something like 14,000 rpm you would feel a lot more difference, another thing is you really need a gear up kit to let that pipe take full effect , once that pipe really kicks in around 12krpm and byond then you would feel it. also these CDI's do not have an rpm limiter ;) , so gear up kit and a more pokey pipe would unleash a lot more rpm and a huge difference in speed and power.

CDI stands for capacitor discharge ignition. A performance CDI will use an optimised capacitor value to enhance the spark generated and more accurately ignite at the correct time. Higher quality capacitors are used too. Also by having different resistance values in the internal circuit the timing curve characteristics can be changed to discharge the capacitor at more beneficial rpm, and rpm can be increased. Typically jetting won't be necessary from a CDI swap alone. And further modifications would be necessary to make the most out of the new CDI.
They do work with the correct mapping for a 2 stroke. Most high performance CDIs for 2 strokes will advance timing at lower revs, then retard at higher revs.

I've had a 2-stroke Kymco Super 9 and that was a fantastic little scoot, it was even water cooled. If you or anyone has anything helpful to suggest, it would be very helpful. I can do the mods myself. I'm just looking for tips from someone much more well versed in the topic than myself. I appreciate any information.
bro if you get a yamaha aerox put on 70cc 24mm carb and much more it would be hyper 80mph whit right gearing and tunes
Is that mph or kph?

In italy the booster is the best with malossi performance
You got that Zuma dialed now!
I could be sick if you Got a mvt Racing ignition for the Blue zuma

@@MOPBOYZ Many og my Friends even my self run it on my derbi senda and my Friends run Them om Yamaha Minarelli Engines and they make Way more power then with original ignition
Guys it’s not gonna do anything for 2stroke maybe a GY6 deal but you’re stretching it.
Brother if you do answer .. is this MBK BOOSTER SPIRIT ??
I HAD 1 .. I LOVED IT THEN 1 DAY THEY STOLE IT NEVER FOUND . IT is very rare in mauritius island 😢
Carb from China come set up for China there below sea level so most of the time the middle slot is for usa depending where sea level is
it’s not from china lol it’s polini
I want to know if he could help me? I’ve been looking for a video on UA-cam, that shows how the gas from a scooter goes into the carburetor. I have a scooter, and the only way it stays on is if I put gas directly into the carburetor.
Got a chines 50cc I’m trying hook it up already did a big bore kit on so it’s a 80cc now supposedly need some help on what to do next just want to get it to hit 50 mph
I have a 2008 APRILIA SPORTCITY 250 EFI. RESTRICTOR STILL INSTALLED.

What you think about the Yamaha slider or Aerox?
I need to make my 2022 200 suzuki burgman go faster. What do I need?
😂 idk man ever since I brought a moped man I can’t get enough of these videos
You should visit the Netherlands once man, we have a huge moped community here
quick question should i leave my autochoke or should i put manual choke on my scooter
Good vid. Took them boys to school Cdi.. sounded better for bug wheely on old man mop 😅
Is the needle clip completely different than your float bowl level?
7:00 the bmw in the garage 🗣🗿🔛🔝
Is they’re a website to buy Cdi box for 100cc 2011 zuma? I can’t find anything
Was it your pilot jet !?
come to denmark and ill show you how we tun mopeds
The engine is an air pump. Improve the airflow in and out you will get more power. Good fuel, good spark & a little bit of porting.
Ok im late but it sounds like you need a bigger carbulator
Tell me this what's a good moped to get I'm really wanting one not big on the year it's in buy want one that's meant to last and add more to it along the year
the bogging at 25% to 75% is the small jet not main jet... or could be the gas is getting bubbly when the karburator is vibrating and foams the gas
no it’s the needle , i showed fixing it in the vid hahah
@@MOPBOYZ cool! is its in middle or above the middle one
Idle jet is for up to 25% throttle. Needle and atomiser is 25% to 75%. Main jet is 75% to full throttle.
you should do aerox engine swap for some scooter you have
I had the same problem just never fixed it
So would the new cdi regulate spark better? i wonder if you need to adjust the fuel air ratio then also.
Those systems don't work on a 2 stroke but on a 4 stroke fuel Injection it will make a diffetence
They do work with the correct mapping for a 2 stroke. Most high performance CDIs for 2 strokes will advance timing at lower revs, then retard at higher revs.
Y'all mobbing
You either thought about trying to port match to see the difference
hello from kazakhstan stuntrider:)
We want perfect Turkish subtitle option please🙏🖤🖤
Do you Also driving 4stroke?
