How I fit a Rope Rear Main Seal for the Hemi 6! Follow me on Facebook! / mirabito-performance-4... --- Merch Store: www.mirabitope... Mopar or no car !! #265 #Charger #Hemi6
Man i miss these engines i had heaps of hemi sixes all sizes now all i have is two 245's in the shed and an old rusty cl . , beats working on modern pos with vvl vvt crazy oil pump designs, warping ali heads, blocks etc , roller lifter swaps that require head removals man!!!. Hemi performance owes you LOL. never changed rope seals i have heard mates complain about putting them in when the engine is still in the car. I expect they swell with oil. David Vizard Performance is an interesting channel some good tips here and there.
Hay mate, your videos have been awesome, I have a 265 in a Ve Val, its pissing out the rear main, wondering if its posable to fit a new seal without removing the engine and box. I was thinking I may be able to go in via the sump and removing the seal cap, punch the top seal trough, pulling it out with the vice grips. Wondering if you have ever done this, if so will the new seal press back through? Thanks in advance!!
Good job Chris. The drama with rope seals is they have no asbestos in them anymore. Have you tried a neoprene seal conversion? I no longer use rope seals in Holden V8’s, neo seal is the way to go.

Good info, can crank be put in lathe n knurling tool rubbed against flat spot?
Is this rope the same as gland-packing as used in industry?

I like the way you do that, seems pretty sensible to me.
