The victim's brother spoke exclusively to CNN's Jomana Karadsheh about the tragedy that devastated his family and his dangerous quest for justice.

That's how Russia does war this century. Regular army is just for "helping locals" and keeping the "peace". They send "volunteers" and mercenaries (many of which are the same regular army soldiers anyway), without insignia, and let them commit atrocities. In Eastern Ukraine, they pose as 'locals' rebelling against the government, since they speak Russian in those parts too. It's easier to distinguish them in Syria.

I watched the whole video, they have cut his head and hands too, and they said they will play football with his head, but I noticed another horrifying scene, at 0:51 you can see a severed human head on the ground, for sure it was some innocent person wandering in the wrong place and time unfortunately, Russians are beyond evil.
As of what I've read the victim who was called Hamdy in this video wasn't even an army deserter, he was civilian his whole life, after the revolution broke out in 2011. Assad's regime decided to conscript all men at age of service to help him suppress the revolution. Hamdy didn't want to be a part of this blood path, so he just immediately travelled to Lebanon, to work as a builder. In 2017 Hamdy's mother was killed by Russian random bombardment on his hometown in Syria, Deir ez Zor. So, he wanted to return back for his mother's funeral, on his way to his hometown, his bad luck led him to a checkpoint in Homs with an asshole officer, he asked him why didn't you recruit in the army from 2011 till now ? now you'll be arrested and will be forcibly conscripted, he called his family and told them what happened, then he waited till he found a way to escape the checkpoint by running into nowhere. He kept his way for some hours to find any nearby town to continue his way to his hometown to attend his mom's funeral. His bad luck again led him to buildings compound around some large gas facilities called al-Shaer, that he probably thought it's a small town where he could find some transport to continue his journey, but it was Wagner fighters camp, where he was captured then this atrocity started. After a year of the incident they shared the video and claimed that he's an IS**IS fighter they've captured after a fight.

Before this event, the man disclosed ISIS base location to wagner but at the same time he also warn the ISIS that wagner are coming.
