@@lettersfromjen6296 can you please do a video about the how to of 'Speaking in tongues and interpretation'...show us how you do it as in the practical application....
Interesting points made here. In my understanding this is about interpretating and listening the the Holy Spirit. However, the title and the beginning of this video is about the interpretation of tongues, as a gift from the Holy Spirit. In other words, someone speaks in Tongues and someone else can explain this. There should allways be an interpreter when someone speaks in tongues, according to the Bible. However, I have never experienced someone doing this and are therefore confused and looking for information. Interesting points are made, but it was not the topic I was looking for or the title suggested.
Isonal Thank you so much for your comment. This is the first part of the teaching, as I mentioned in the video the teaching continues in the following video (entitled Word of Prophecy). Here the interpretation of a ‘sign’ tongue is explained - where the tongue is for the body of people gathered, and not for our personal devotional time with the Lord.
Biblically there are multiple uses for tongues. In the church, an interpretation is needed if someone is publicly or loudly speaking in it, that is meant for.a message from God. Praying privately in it, no interpretation is required but Paul does say to pray for it. He says when we pray in a tongue our spirit is edified and our spirit speaks mysteries to God. If we're speaking to God, then no interpretation is needed. The other way it is seen is tongues of men- where ppl are preaching in another language to share the gospel with ppl in their own tongue. This is different than praying in tongues. This still happens today too, but I've only heard one or two stories. I have been praying to interpret for a long while! I don't have that gift yet but I do have the gift of praying in tongues. I know I am still meant to use the gift I do have even as I wait to interpret.
@@lettersfromjen6296 Hello Jen, I honestly believe that much of what we are taught in regards to spiritual gifts we receive as we read and meditate on the Holy Scriptures. In Joshua 1:8 God directs Joshua to meditate on the word, or read and understand it. As we fill our minds with the written word, the Holy Spirit uses the word to speak to our lives and our circumstances. In regards to the sign gifts, Tongues or the gift of speaking in other human languages without having to learn them, was a sign for the people of that time that God was going to establish his Church not just in the Jewish culture, but in all cultures. These were known human languages as Acts 2 specifically states that the people who heard the disciples speak in tongues understood them to be speaking in their various languages. As we progress through Acts the only word used for tongue is glossolalia. This means a known language. So in the church we need an interpreter for these tongues so that it will bring understanding and edification to the body of Christ. When Paul said he prayed in a tongue, we need to understand that it was within the context of the church where he was praying in these tongues. It was still the expectation that they be interpreted. So I don't see any real scriptural backing for prayer languages. When Paul mentions in Romans that the Holy Spirit prays with groaning, that is God the Holy Spirit praying not us. We need to read that in proper scriptural context. The bottom line is, that if we believe the canon of scripture is closed as believers, that is there are only 66 books and the Bible is inerrant in the original languages, there are no new messages from God outside of the Bible. He has chosen to speak to us through the written scriptures in these last days. As we fill our minds with His word that is all we need for life and godliness. Remember the Holy Spirit will always point us to Jesus. The only true voice of prophecy in these last days is the written word of God. We should put our trust in nothing else.
Matthew 16:23 But he turned, and said unto this evil woman. Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
@@freshliving4199 trust me, I used to suffer from a short temper but that has drastically declined after believing in Jesus. And of course one of the fruit is Love and the greatest gift of all is love. Love God and love your neighbour as you love yourself. But really whats the difference between a prayer spken in tounges and prayer not spoken in tounges because f you think about it God is all powerful sees and hears all so whats so special about tounges? Apart from this wernt the tounges only used with the early church to help the disciples spread the Gospel then afterwards that ceased
I see it as the Spirit guides as to speak in a heavenly language or a language we don’t know, for me personally when I’m praying if I don’t know what exactly to pray about I ask the Spirit to pray through me and from there if I stay consistent I begin speaking in tongues so I see it as the spirit prays through us what we need to pray for but our minds can understand
Tongues is a gift from God. The Holy Spirit hits you and baptises you and you speak tongues after that. And no, none of the gifts of the spirit have ceased. That is a religious lie from hell from the stupid enemy to make you think that, that way you never go after any gifts from God to edify the church with, and he also tells that lie to make you scared of God's gifts and to blaspheme the Holy Spirit by saying they are from the devil. I've been there done that when I had a religious spirit on me. But I recieved deliverance. None of the gifts have ceased and none of the works of Jesus either, Healing has not ceased, raising the dead has not ceased (I've been raised from the dead twice by prayer, last year after I bled to death and also in 2012 after a drug overdose before I was saved, I went to hell and my mum prayedme back from the dead). I am 27 and have seen so many incredible moves of the Spirit that it has become daily life for me. All the works Jesus did are still in action to this very day. And the gifts of the spirit also. Including visions, dreams, prophecy and tongues/interpretation etc. Only the Old Testament has passed away and the stuff they used to do back then. God doesn't change though. If you want God's gifts of the spirit then ASK for them in prayer and receive them by faith. Draw closer to God and build a relationship with Him. Dont give in to the lies of the idiot enemy. God bless.
So many tongues but never have I heard interpretation and this didn't explain anything which helped confirm any form of edification in relation to tongues and interpretation 😐
Yesterday at my Apostolic Pentecostal church.. there was a message In tongues. I interpreted that tongue
. I feel the enthusiasm of the Holy spirit working through you, which is difficult to find in Our Heavenly Fathers people these days..
I want to know more about interpretation of tongue.

Right, you can’t ‘learn’ the ‘gifts’ of the Holy Spirit.
