Hi. I was going to ask Nanabaa this question till I saw your comment. You're the perfect person to answer this question. Does Dorowat taste like Shito?
I’m Ethiopian and Jamaican I have a friend from Senegal 🇸🇳 I’m in love with west African food too. I started making west African dishes and I love it. 😋
Am an Ethiopian American, wowwwww sister am so proud of you to follow the steps and thankyou for taking your time to show my culture and I hope you will visit my beautiful country Ethiopia one GOD BLESS YOU AND THANKYOU AGAIN!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
@Nanaaba's Kitchen I used your video to make Doro Wot last night. I'm African American culturally, but I love Ethiopian/African food. This video is so helpful and my Doro Wot came out delicious just like the restaurant. Thank you so much!! Your family is blessed to have you and so are we.
My lady, you are awesome 👏. My mother is Eritrean and this is a common national dish in both Eritrea 🇪🇷 and Ethiopia 🇪🇹💜💜💜💜💜 I am an English language teacher and I’m encouraging my students to share their national dishes but they asked me of mine hence my visit to you. You speak clearly so they will love ❤️ you too. Thank you 🙏.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. I'm Eritrean 🇪🇷 and we also make this traditional dish. We call it Tsebhi Derho in Tigrinya language. The step by step was amazing for beginners learning to cook habesha food
White girl that definitely wants to make this for my family. I love exploring the world with my tastes buds and Ethiopian definitely is one of the best tasting culinary categories!!!
My sister, you have won a Gold Medal for preparing this particular Ethiopian Dish. My Ancestors came from Ethiopia, and settled in Eastern Ugandan. But I have eaten this dish and 'injera' and I enjoyed it. 🙏🏽
Now this is how you show respect a dish from another culture - you do proper research, unlike some so-called professional chefs who I am refraining from calling the names of, who are so ignorant of other cultures, apparently do not do any research at all, and then butcher the ethnic recipes. Thank you Nanaaba for doing such thorough research. The clear approval from the Ethiopian viewers sure proves that your research and dedication was well appreciated.
I LOVE you videos. No unnecessary talking. You get to the point and explain clearly everything you make. You make me want to cook your dishes. I totally enjoy each and every video. Thank you!!!!!
I'm an Ethiopian-American and I'm as amazed as any Ethiopian can be with the amazing job you did. This is one of the best Doro wot I have seen, even better than some Ethiopians recipe videos on youtube. you did really an amazing job. Its easter fasting time right now for Ethiopian orthodox Christian followers and we are literally vegan during the next few weeks until Easter but you made me crave for it. The details are to the point and you are so right that you can not make Dor Wot without especially those three ingredients: Berbere, mekelesha and spiced clarified butter just as you have mentioned it. I'm very much interested and will definitely check out the Ghanaian version of the chicken stew. Great Job Sista. keep on rocking. 👏👏👏👌👌👌
I recently discovered your cooking channel, Mrs. Nanaaba, and I am astounded by your cooking ability and knowledge! Your Ethiopian Doro Wet came out beautifully! I loved the idea of marinating the chicken drumsticks in your habanero-lime-ginger-garlic marinade!
I just had doro wet for the first time yesterday and it was great. So glad to see this tutorial as most i see online are not in english. could you consider doing more Ethiopian recipes? Im intersted in make tibs and many other dishes
This was my favorite dish as a child 😋 looks authentic, beautiful ❤️ Berbere comes in different levels of heat be careful you might not need to add any peppers. 🌶 some people add mitmita (spicy Ethiopian seasoning) or fresh hot peppers on the side

I showed this to my Ethiopian mom and she was so happy to see how beautifully you made this Doro wet. She can't believe this is your first time. You're definitely a skilled chef and I love that you did research at the restaurant first.
I just realised after the video was over that while I was watching it, I imagined smelling all of that delicious food while you making it. The sights, sounds, and your descriptions made me feel like I could smell it lol unfortunately there are no Ethiopian stores or restaurants in my area. I have been wanting to try some of their dishes because they look so good! Hopefully I can scope out a good place next time I'm in Houston

Hello Nanaaba, First, I would like to say you can cook sister☺️. Your hubby must be a happy man, lol. But yes, I watched your curry goat video and the way your cleaning the chicken here is what I expected on the cleaning process of the goat. This was absolutely amazing🙌🏾 And I must say... This was definitely one of the most cleanest food tutorials I’ve ever seen lol... I definitely will be trying this soon😋!!!
I’m glad u tried doro wot. It’s my favorite ethiopian dish 😍👏🏽. I’ve never seen anyone marinate the chicken before adding it to the stew cuz of how powerful the berbere is. Idk how long you’ve cooked the berbere but it takes about 3-6 hrs depending on the amount of onions u have. Regardless good job 👏🏽
Love your idea of letting the chicken marinate in the garlic/ginger mixture. And skimming off the fat after it has done its job is great. Of course, I’m going to do that next time I make doro wot. I’m Ethiopian myself, but I learned a new idea from you, sister. Thanks!
Beautifully done. 😉We do let it simmer with hot water ( little amount) each time before we add the chicken. I do want to try marinating my chickens next time with ginger as we add ginger/garlic paste in the sauce we do not marinate it with ginger. You give authenticity to all the foods you're making and As usual, I appreciate you. Doro wot is the most time and energy consuming dish so well done for having a go at it.🧡👍🙏🥰
I've been following your channel for a while. It's interesting to know you and sis kwankyewaa have inspired me to create my own channel. My passion for cooking is crazy. Thanks Ma.
U r absolutely an amazing shef and story teller , as an Ethiopian all I can say is u just rock it, very clean , cooked well step by step. Yummy!!! I finished ur video craving for a bite. The only thing I didn't like it the injera doesn't look real, thank you , u got my subscription.

I give you thumbs up for the effort and it looks amazing! I’m Ethiopian and I know the elders are critical when it comes to cooking doro wot. It’s not an easy task!
I taught your beef and chicken stew looks like Eritrean/ Ethiopian beef and chicken stew and then I found this video. I never taught other African countries had similar food and I love your cooking and presentation style.
