Links to the most reputable brands in the description! I linked for the Arrma Kraton 6s, but most make them for many other models. Also I should have said 2.9/2.2 Oz not 2lbs!! Oops
Great video. I definitely stopped stripping ring and pinions since I started swapping to the Alu cases. I use Treal as they are the cheapest/best quality in the UK
Another key advantage to upgrading to an aluminium bulkhead is the added rigidity for the ring and pinion gear. More rigidity means they’re less likely to skip a tooth. Scorched bulkheads also have the biggest oversized pinion bearing, using a whopping 16mm bearing rather than the puny 11mm in a stock housing. Beware of cheap housings made from weak aluminium and with poor tolerance control. Clamped bearings need really high precision machining to avoid bearing crush.

@@scorchedparts8013 Good points! Sorry, I totally forgot to mention Scorched RC, as they are awesome products too! Thanks for watching 👊
@@ICRC83Nice video 👌
@@scorchedparts8013 Thank you! I added a link to you in the description.
It’s deff a must, it has no flex, the gears won’t move.
That too, good point.
Another thing to note is that some of the cheaper Amazon bulkheads are 6061 vs treal, vitavon, ADU being 7075 aluminum.
Good Point! I added links in the description of some reputable brands.
2lbs 9 oz seems a lot on a 12lb truck. I'm sure mine are more like 2.9 oz. Also I have a question who are Vivaton My cars a full Vitavon
