On Netflix there is a tv series that’s called “The Holiday Movies That Made Us”. And in it they have an episode about Elf and it tells the entire story of how Elf came together from the producers to the cinematographer to the writer. Interesting in how this movie worked, also how the lesser known moments filming it worked more than the ones with the crew laughing - as it's said that Jon Favreau didn't get on with Will Ferrell, and that's one of the reasons why there's no sequel. (Similar case for the Scrooged too, maybe my fave Christmas movie.)

Elf, we watch it every year at Christmas.

Elf has been goated. I’m glad Ferrell took a chance with the film, it’s great.

Tbh I think with comedy it's always a never-know situation because it's so subjective but in the case of Elf it's a holiday movie (of which there are only so many good ones) and it has universal appeal for families from kids to adults.

Bob Newhart cameo - narrating as only he can, was a great idea too.
