Bloody briliant mate! THIS is what people who have interest in Thailand want to see. Loved the overhead earth map of the trail. Keep on rockin Karl, channel is awesome!
Thanks TTT, that was one hell of a hike, I do the Google Earth fly through on many of my hiking videos, cannot beat it for putting things in perspective
Amazing journey Karl! I’m vacationing in Oahu where the Jurassic Park films were made so I can relate to the terrain. This is the hike that you should have brought Nick since he is anxious to travel with you. Ha! Ha!
I’d love to see Hawai, video creators dream. I can just imagine Martin cutting his way through the undergrowth behind us and worrying about all his AV kit lol.
Great vid, pal. I'm not sure how we made it out of there but we did in the end. Looking back on it, it was probably the best and most fun treks I ever did, though I didn't think that at the time. lol. We'll have to do it again sometime and make sure we take a machete with us. :)
Thanks DJ, sometimes you wonder whether you really need your gps unit and sometimes you thank god that you brought it along lol. This was one of those occasions
Unbelievably tough … how you stayed with it I’ll never know… we’ll,done for showing the Medi Kit whilst hiking .. I bet it’s not used by quite a few, but you showing it has made a few people think 🙏🙏✌️
That was definitely one of my toughest ever hikes Tom, the terrain was just so hostile. I now know why that large valley is totally uninhabited. The Medi kit was Brian’s idea and a most welcome one
The name Khao Sam Roi Yod, literally translated "Mount of three hundred summits" already tells its fluctuated heights and how inconvenience is getting trough it :) Thai people of the old time always brought a big knife with them when they were going into jungles for making way though those hurting shrubs and vines.
Great trail. Can't believe you don't take a knife though even on a simpler trail, the small scythe ones with the bamboo handles even make good walking sticks.
Thanks. Did you see the cobra video I posted last week? Snakes have never bothered me…which doesn’t make them any less dangerous. The Pit Vipers concern me the most as they don’t move when you approach as they are ambush predators. No particular safety measures in place for snake bites. I do see them but I see more in rural Thailand than thick jungle as such.
Well you got to see a herd of dinosaurs, so it was all worth it.😀 Sometimes it's the adventures like this that you don't enjoy so much at the time, which make the best stories though.
@@karlsthailand hey Karl, I was wondering if I could contact you directly as you seem pretty on the ball as regards hiking out here. I found some info on hiking Krok E Dok waterfall and wondered if you knew about it. Cheers.
Myself and Brian are planning on doing that one in the next month or so. I have the gps route for it. Officially you need a NP ranger with you to do it but I have seen reports of individuals hiking it. My email address is thailandkarl@yahoo.co.uk
Thanks Rich, no gun and no tigers in this particular National Park. I guess you have seen the video about my tiger encounters in the past? If not it’s called “Man Fights Tiger for 20 Minutes at Khao Yai
I don’t think many wild animals in their right minds would live in that valley Capio, tarantulas, ants and insects. I suppose there are bound to be but it’s hot, dry and with no obvious water source, certainly in the Hot Season anyway
Now I see that you had a different hike than me) It looks a tough one) But I would attempt it. I often do adventurous hikes) My craziest hike was in a destroyed part of the Great Wall with snakes around) In Thailand it was in Ang Thong National park when I needed to climb to a cave in a mountain with 45 percent incline! you can see it here from 13:26 ua-cam.com/video/NpBvysZo4B4/v-deo.html Greetings from Nathalie's World! My next video will be about this park, but more a relaxing type with beautiful nature around!
Yes, Sam Roi Yot has some great day hikes. Phraya Nakhon Cave is just difficult enough to be fun and beautiful too and Khao Daeng viewpoint doesn’t take too much time. Sao Cave is worthwhile too, have fun
Wow, what a hike. You guys were very lucky you didn't get into real trouble during this hike. great video thank you.
It was certainly tougher than we had anticipated, all we had to go on was a gps track and Google Earth.

So nice upload here. Full of adventure there. Thanks for sharing dear. I wish you all the best. Have a wonderful day and see you soon again.
Thank you outdoors tours, you have a great day too!
Hi very Nice vidéo and Nice landscape of jurasssic Park 🦕🦖💯 thank you for vidéo 🇹🇭🙏
Definitely the craziest hike I’ve seen you do, you guys are nuts. 😂😂
Stay on the straight and narrow Karl, we want more videos 😀😀
Thanks Mark, I’ll try 😆

"scratchy terrain" lol... Nice description ... Cool video Karl ... You are well prepared

Tough going there mate; you would of lost the beers pretty quickly.
I don’t think beer has ever tasted as good as after that hike Brian
Watch your step(S) ! and definitely watch for snakes !!
Glad you made it out of there but it was exciting 👍

A brave hike, nice job. Great editing as well.
Thanks Robert and Grapes, good to get your feedback
That yomp must have been 10 times harder in that heat
It was an inferno Kev and yes the heat just saps you, especially in the Hot Season

We certainly underestimated this particular trail Brian, so much thick scrub.
Karl you ever see anymore cobras when hiking , do you have safety measures for snake bites or not many snakes, great video

Hardcore. No way I’d do that. do you not encounter a lot of snakes or otherwise animals not usually disturbed by humans?
I don’t think many wild animals in their right minds would live in that valley Capio, tarantulas, ants and insects. I suppose there are bound to be but it’s hot, dry and with no obvious water source, certainly in the Hot Season anyway
That’s pretty grim…..snakebite and you’re a goner….
It was a pretty hostile environment tbh. I don’t think many snakes would bother living there lol
