As someone who was addicted to stronghold crusder as a child, hearing all these sound effects after a decade and a half later brought memories of better days.

I agree. It was a time where we afforded a computer but had no internet, so a family friend put GTA Vice city and strongholds crusaders, man I played through those 2 games, especially crusaders soooo many times.

I think the first Stronghold has a better atmosphere and soundtrack, the game was released 2001 and I still listen to the soundtracks, but Crusader is an improvement over the original in terms of gameplay in many respects, it lacks a campaign and storyline, but gameplay is superior, think the AI is better in Stronghold, but both games are still superb in their own right, I still use them
Goal is to complete Stronghold in Very Hard setting, they are those games that never get old because you can tweak the difficultly level in many ways, too easy? Use less troops, archers, etc, no limit to ways you can increase the challenge
The Mace Men kill sounds are fuckin 😆😆😆
It is much more than funny; I think it is one of the best strategy games ever, it is chess like, only better than chess

In Stronghold infantry will change position and attack weaker part of the castle if it is available, in Crusader they seem to always go in a straight line to the closest and weakest part of the castle, even if it they have to walk through fire, that is no good, you wouldn't do that in real life!
Oh my, it started as a usual Stronghold comedy-stereotype then suddenly evolved into a brutal death match! Can't deny the importance of sound effects and Stronghold has the best of them over almost two decades.
"Not enough goods" and "My men are in good heart. My walls are stro- CAN'T PLACE THAT THERE MILORD" had me bursting out laughing. Spectacular job.
And the immediate execution afterwards! 😂

What is the most funny about this is, that the Stronghold battle sound effects are actually much better than the original movie ones :D It makes the battle scene a lot more immersive.

I'm 100% sure I heard that typical siege screaming from sc during watching the movie. It was the moment when Saladin attacked Jerusalem.
Possible. That screaming sound is indeed very popular, you hear it during the fake retreat in the final battle of "The Patriot". It was also a usable stock-sound in the "Microsoft 3D Movie Maker", a filmmaking game i played in the 90ies.
When i clicked the Video, i just expected a funny little joke. What i didnt expect was 4min laughing and enjoying this absurd awesome level of detail and accuracy. Its just wonderful and perfect.
I don't know any game that has more brutal screams of burning people than stronghold, it's so satisfying to listen to 😂

This is exactly what I had in mind back when I first saw this movie as a child. Also Saladin's failed attack speech on 3:17 made me laugh. Good job on the edit, man.
Fun fact: theres actually a scene in the movie that uses the battle cry from Stronghold when you tell your soldiers to attack the enemy lord

this made me laugh from start to finish as a big stronghold crusader fan :D thank you so much for making this. btw a lot of war movies do use some bits and pieces of sound from old games like stronghold crusader, seven kingdoms etc. as a gaming nerd I catch them every time and it makes me laugh a bit and I tell others watching with me where that bit of sfx was stolen from xD
