Man, I really want 128 steps at full resolution for the other digis now! It’s easy to get stuck in 4 bar loop land. Do you think you’ll utilize all 8 bars now once you get used to it, or stick to the 4 bar section method you’ve gotten so good at? I imagine that shift in ethos for Elektron will be bigger than expected.
It’s better it ways and update would have satisfied…that’s what’s weird. I honestly think I will never buy gear again. Also this track of ducking nasty! Duck ya dude!
Your strengths have always been to make the most of the limitations of the digitakt 1. It's very interesting to hear your music on the MK 2 now. sounds so good.
A part of me is really happy to see you having a Digitakt 2, but the other part is scared that my brain will develop a Digitakt 2 craving in a few video's. I just have to remind myself that you are the top 1% that actually makes good music with these boxes and knows these boxes inside out and that i'm not one of them x) But for real, i'm really excited to see what you can do with the Digitakt 2! Great track also, I love how you always manage to grab my attention with your chord progressions
@@badabangofficial I've also owned a DT, eventhough i really liked it, i think it will end up not being used as much as i thought :p Though i do really like some things the DT 2 can do with other synths. I will probably get one at some point, but i think it's smart for me to wait till they get on the second hand market
Hehe, thank you very much for the kind words, man! I'm really looking forward to exploring it :D My first impressions of it are really good. All the design changes I've seen so far have made me nod appreciatively, hehe.
experiment with comb filter. low freq, high feedback, minimal lpf, with varying degrees of srr going into it. its magical on transforming transients and plucky percussion
Quality. I am pretty sure I would dig the DT having owned a Machinedrum UW in the past, but at the same time concerned that like the MD it wouldn’t get as much use as it deserves. The biggest missing piece in my setup is a sequencer with sampling that handles break chopping and switching on par with my DAW and Tal-Sampler. Don’t know if it even exists. MPC One was close but no cigar. Luksusproblemer😅
Thank you very much! I'm looking forward to exploring 16 tracks. Might be too much to mute 16 tracks manually, but it should be fun trying to use them with song mode :)
Cool jamz. Have you come up against any of the bugs that some people were having problems with? I've had the DT2 since launch but the only thing I found annoying was sample transfer speed, which I think has been addressed in the new update.
I haven't run into any bugs yet. A new firmware update was released before my Digitakt 2 arrived, so there were even fewer bugs for me to run into. I was actually monitoring the bug report thread on Elektronauts to stave off GAS, hehe. Seems like the latest firmware fixed a lot of them!
Very nice! Love the spacey sound + jazzy break combination! I've actually been working on some "from scratch" breaks myself lately, with the intent of using all one-shots, but making it sound like sampled loops. :)
Thank you very much! I like that idea. I've been playing around more with one-shots than usual. It sounds very different than chopping up drum loops, but it's a lot of fun.
Thanks a lot! My first impressions of it are very good. All the new design changes I've run into so far have been great ones. Love the little dots on the right that show which page you're on, and I like when you hold down a trig in a sequence to see p-locks, the page buttons and right arrow lights up red if they have p-locks in them. Had a bunch of moments like these were I couldn't help but nod appreciatively, hehe
I had a DT2 for a few days but returned it. I’d rather stick with the OG for now. It’s a lot more stable and I enjoy the sound a bit more. This is nice tho ❤
There's definitely something about the OG's simplicity that's not as present in the DT2. That said, my first impressions of the DT2 are great! A new firmware update came out last week which has fixed a lot of bugs. I didn't run into any bugs yet.
@@johncitizen8828 why would I keep an $1,000 sampler when I already have the OG that I liked better? The new one sounds different - glossy and smooth and I don’t like it. I prefer the old one so I’m not keeping it. Paying a grand for eight more tracks and a cone filter I don’t like isn’t worth a grand.

Oh yes here we go 😀 Congrats on the new machine, have fun! Great first track, very chill. Bummer about the wrist tho!

From a person who owned the OG and DTII: it is simply amazing. Get it. Probably the best piece of gear I’ve ever used.

welcome to DTII land, glad to see you here!
Thanks a lot, man!
Purchasing the DT2 was a good decision. Looking forward to seeing how you use and abuse it
Hehe, thanks a lot man. Yeah, I'm looking forward to learning all the new things =D
A masterpiece and master demonstration as always Mr Tryti 🎉
Thanks a lot! I'm looking forward to exploring the new features more, I used it mostly like a DT1 here, but with stereo samples

such a great track, thank you
Thank you!
Great ! Hope Elektron sent that one for free because you're making inspiring music with their gear which helps them selling these lovely boxes.
Thanks a lot, man! Not this time, I bought the DT2 new. The only other gear I haven't bought used is the OGDT :D

I am exited to see what you can accomplish with 16 tracks, when what you managed with the original was already so mind blowing

Wow!
Things sound pretty good here. This bitcrusher fits the mood very well too!

Ah yes! Do you like it? I had the OG Digitakt but the limitations in the end made me sell it.
DT2 is here to stay. What an amazing piece of gear!

But surely you can use the DT2 like a DT1, by just ignoring the newer functionality? It’s not **that**different.
