    I’m a KC native living now in DC. Only thing I would add is stressing the arts more strongly as a “pro” of KC. Beginning with the Nelson and the Kemper museums, the art scene there is world-class great.

    Thanks for the great summary! I'm a Texan but looking to branch out. Our family lives near many outdoor activities and we hardly go, so not much will be missed! Before applying for new jobs, I like to see if the local atmosphere fits our lifestyle. One more PRO I would add, homeschooling in Kansas has very relaxed regulations, similar to Texas :)

    Thank you for this video. I'm planning to visit in the spring. Is it true that city buses are free to ride?

      Man, it varies SO much based on what part of town you are thinking. Anywhere from $200-500k depending on finishes and nearby comps.

      It's not that I've noticed. I've doordashed and done postmates about a year ago in it and I didn't think it was that bad

      Depends on the area, don't go to Prospect or Van Brunt etc Carry a weapon just in case. I've had a random ass man pull up to me in a car and ask me if I wanted to have sex with him. I said no, and he drove off. This was while my partner was delivering in midtown.

    Live north of the river is a big pro to KC because we don't build 8 neighborhoods and leave the same 2 lane roads that had been there the 30yrs prior but stay south and keep believing you have the life while sitting at stop light .. 😀

    Kansas City Airport might be the worst airport I have ever been to.

  • @jdm3072

    As a Kansas Citian, born and raised, I I guess the pros and cons are weighed by how you look at them. I don't expect to see beaches or mountains in KC, so I don't think that weighs into how I see KC. I take it for what it is, but maybe people from other regions might be used to something different. It isn't a problem for me.
    The changing of winter to spring is a slippery slope. One day cold, one day hot. It annoys me but it doesn't last long. Once weather stabilizes, we don't have the winters of up north but we don't the summers of down south. I'll take that.
    If a person wants to live in KC, I strongly feel they should procure a vehicle of their own. People need transportation and a car just offers more control of where you need to go. Some complain KC doesn't have these vast railways but they don't factor that the city is so widespread and the population density so low per square mile that lightrails would be very expensive to the taxpayers. Practically as cheap just to buy a small vehicle!
    As for KCI, despite living in the Northland, KCI is still quite far up north even for me. The original airport, the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport, is fairly close to downtown. City expansion would have made it hard to increase the size of the airport to a (then) modern level. I can understand the city planners thinking about building somewhere where development hadn't taken hold. Seems like an evil necessity.

    • @RachtheRealtorKC
      @RachtheRealtorKC  3 роки тому

      Thanks for your thoughtful comment! I totally agree with everything you're saying. I feel validated that you still think the airport is far away even living up North! :)

    I had to live here for 8 months while working on a movie.. DO NOT COME HERE if you expect to do things, The place is super boring and segregated and cold. Lots of racism. Lots of ugly unhealthy people. And I totally get it.. Lots of uncultured people who have never left the state and are just fine living in crapville... So not really the brightest people... So yeah... Would like to say something nice about this city but it just plain sucks if you have been anywhere else.. Well I guess the bbq is good but I like BBQ from other states better...So yeah... Yuck... If I never go back I would be very happy...
