- Mild 383 with Quadrajet off of an 80s 360 powered Dodge Pickup. 1966 Fury with 4.10 gears. Sounds good for a work in progress. Lots of fun! Gotta love the sounds of a spread bore!
Quadrabogs are great if dialed in.
Torqueflite shifting nicely👍
Love it, thanks for sharing. Had a 69 Superbee and 70 Roadrunner in the early 1990's, both 383 cars.
That's a peppy Mopar, beautiful sound!
@@kuulapaa thank you much appreciated!
Dang that thing is quick if the speedo is right! Got a lot of pickup for sure.
It moves okay! The speedo was wrong here for sure. Probably let off at 110 ish? Not sure but the math is close.
@@RyanUrbanski For how heavy and big that boat is… it’s a barn burner for sure!
3rd gear was approaching redline. I'll have to guess a 4:10 or 4:56 gear?
A Quadrajet on a MoPar? Well, why not!
@@claiborneeastjr4129 if it works, it works, and I love it!
Brother I love it
My father had a 1967 Chevrolet Impala with a 327 quadrjet it was wonderfu.l
It ran like a scalded dog
Sounded like my brothers 67 malibu convertible with 327 i think it said turbo fire under the hood 2 sp power glide
Sounds strange to say 66 Fury with a 383 and a Quadrajet.....
@@japbike736 I get that for sure haha
Sure it wasn't a thermo quad?
@@1pigpen7 Chrysler used quadrajets from 85-89 on all 4 barrel applications from the factory after carter went belly up in 84 ish. This quadrajet came off of an 80s dodge pickup
Probably a Carter thermoquad.
@@wallacecash1959 I built and dialed in this carburetor…cant mistake a quadrajet. its a factory quadrajet off and 80’s dodge pickup.
@@RyanUrbanski I stand corrected👍
@@wallacecash1959 Yea Mother Mopar ran quadrajets for a few years. I think manly on trucks, don't know why. I'm a GM guy so it works for me. I can make any of them haul a$$ just prefer chevys. Rochester, Carter and Weber build qjets so maybe they just got a good deal on them.
I'm no car expert, but isn't a Quadrajet a GM product?
@@peterjohnson1734 technically yes: chrysler used them on all 4 barrel applications after carter went under in 1984. So chrysler/dodge used quadrajets from 85-89.
@@RyanUrbanski Well, that's interesting. I did not know that. Thanks.
The sound of a Mopar at full throttle is a wonderful sound, but no Mopar EVER came with a Rochester Quadrajet. Perhaps you meant to say "Carter Thermoquad".
YES they did. All 4 barrel chrysler products from 85 onwards (to 1990 ish) that means dodge/plymouth police cars. And all 4 barrel trucks. Chrysler used quadrajets too!
Also, I know the carb I custom tuned thats on it. Its off of a dodge truck.
@@RyanUrbanski I learned something today. I didn't know that Chrysler used GM carburetors late in the game. I will say that a 383 sounds just as badass with a Carter Thermoquad.
