Played it last year, still a dope game.
And here were are getting an Insomniac game for launch again :)

Challenging but sooo much fun. Definitely more fun than 2.
I agree, needs a remaster with online servers again.
Ps3 visuals were so dark and muddy, until later on when developers learnt how to code for it.
blurry textures, awkward models, BLOOM EVERYWHERE and of course the annoying piss color filter every game seems to had back in the mid to late 2000s.
they were just a little upscaled ps2 games with some small effects added, really, im glad the devs improved the next years but holy fck the early games were awful.
dark and muddy visuals were more of a trend at the time. just about every game that came out in this era no matter the platform was in that style, except for nintendo of course
the mid 00s was all about brown and muted scenery
To me it don't matter about the graphics Its the gameplay and story that matters the most.

I agree. The ps3 is still one of my favorite systems of all time. Why because it's the console that got me back into gaming. After playing uncharted 2 on it, I was hooked I wanted to explore every game it had to offer. I played God of war 3 after that game and holy cow I wanted to buy more games. Black ops 1&2, ratchet and clack, tekken 6, marvel vs capcom 3, borderlands, resistance 1&2, little big planet. My mind went nuts. I went crazy for all the games I found that were good on the system.

I liked it, it was far from the belic shooter the other ones were but it had the weapon wheel of the 1st
Infamous was my first PS3 game. Experiencing Infamous right after playing PS2 for almost a decade (got my PS3 in 2010, I was a 20 year old without a steady job) just blew me away.

@@ElPibePlay1000 you shouldn't use linearity as a negative. Linearity allows for more detail to be on screen at once, unlike an open world game.

They could have done gyro aiming with the Sixaxis.
It took 6 more Years and Nintendo with the 3DS to establish gyro aiming.
Becouse the wii gave the average gamer a hate for "motion control" so in a way it was really up to them to put them back on mainstream with a more refined and non-gimmick take on motion control

5:46 Logan actually is short. Hugh Jackman, as great as his is as Wolverine, is way taller than the character in the comics. But movies, in general, use to have tall protagonists (not talking about Tom Cruise).

Resistance wasn't just my favorite launch title, it was one of my favorite games that console generation.
I still talk about how great that trilogy was and wish we could get new Resistance games today.
Aw man I remember playing CoD3 when it first came out and it felt SOO crisp. The graphics were amazing, the gameplay was so advanced and the war felt more chaotic than my stomach after a quesadilla from Taco Bell.

i love the ps3 too. I don't know why, but it's my favourite console. I genuinely cannot explain why. Especially considering most important ps3 games are available on ps4 remastered in some way, shape or form. But yet, there is just something about it. I still play my ps3 regularly. Heck, i started playing niche games to enjoy some hidden games. Started playing Fracture since about a week ago. It's been a good time! About to enjoy motorstorm apocalypse right after it
Me too. I have a XBox one X, PS4 and Switch. But most of the Time I play PS3 or PS2. It’s crazy and I don’t know why. But I feel better and have more fun to play the old Consoles and Games

SHAWKLAN 27 Good decision. I have a PS3 Slim 320gb. My fav model. Not too big and quiet. You will have a lot of fun with the PS3. So many good games and you can play a lot of PS1 Games on it too. The PS3 Games are really cheap. Don’t look to much on the Graphic. Just have fun.

Resistance sold me on the ps3. My friend had a new plasma and a ps3 w/ RFoM, and it looked amazing. I was not disappointed, it was an excellent game in my opinion. The sequel was ok, but i much preferred the original.
100% they need to remake resistance. And they only need to remake the 1st one tbh.

@@chrisrichfield8906 atmosphere of the 1st was perfect for what the series was going for as well. 2 and 3 became more.. "comic" like? Fall of Man is the wet dream of all realistic alien invading movie fans (Independence Day, Space Troopers, etc..) come true. Can't think of another decent Alien shooter that has the same grounded feel (weapon arsenal, setting, and gameplay). Really wish this one gets the Demon Souls treatment in getting a remake
@@DelightFools Ya it was more like the first Halo game in tone, but darker, and sort of a ratchet and clank like progression in the sense you are constantly finding new cool alien weaponry, that are kept on your weapon wheel to swap to at any time. R2 ditched that for the 2 weapon system, which was a bad idea in my opinion as it made it feel like an alien skinned COD campaign. It fit Halo well, but not Resistance.

My dad's friend was head of a company who did some work for the Birmingham UK Launch of the PS3. I remember they had Motorstorm and Resistance and an early PS3. I spent the whole time with it crashing the cars in Motorstorm by over-boosting and then pausing the game to meticulously study the exploded car model.
Resistance, Tony Hawks Project 8 & Marvel Ultimate Alliance are my favourites of these launch games
Resistance Fall of Man was so dope. I remember playing that as a 3rd(?) grader and just being in awe

The way you described your experience with the PS3 reminds me of both my personal experience, and the GENERAL experience with the Switch. I've been following Switch since before launch, devouring content and news and such, and it's really become my favorite console. It's nice seeing others having similar experiences with other consoles and content. 👌
Loved Resistance been a fan of Insomniac since playing the first Ratchet and Clank and they have never let me down.

So many memories have been brought back to my mind from when I was 8 year old omg. When I saw that starting screen for blazing angels I cracked a nasty smile just from remembering something that would have been forgotten if this video was never made

nah i dont think companies will repeat these errors, games are more expensive to make, so far only sport games are the same, but everything else is better, hell, just compare ps4 with ps3 overall and see the improvements.

Motorstorm WAS a launch title in Europe as the PS3 didn't come out until 2007. Note he says the RR7 is the only driving game the US launch line-up. Other Euro launch titles were Virtua Fighter 5, Full Auto 2: Battlelines, Virtua Tennis 3, Enchanted Arms, Fight Night Round 3, Sonic The Hedgehog, Def Jam Icon, NBA Street Homecourt, Need For Speed Carbon, The Godfather: The Don's Edition, World Snooker Championship 2007 & Formula One Championship Edition.
I remember shortly after the PS3 was released, the hype for PlayStation Home was unbelievable.

Man I put like 500 hour's on resistance fall of man when it came out, passing the game on every difficulty solo and with my little brother man those where the day's 😪

played Resistance on my brother's PS3 at launch and i really enjoyed it even though i usually avoid first-person games. i get motion sickness from first-person games but it was so fun that i'd give it a chance from time to time

PS3 and XBOX360 was the first generation that launched without a big system seller. With a high launch price and hardware issues I stayed away initial but what a generation it turned out to be so many amazing games.

I was 11 when i played that game, and i used to always see the black ops skin online and thought id never get it but then I did and I got the one with the skull head too and i always thought that was like the coolest thing ever. Why isnt there a remastered trilogy for this series?

Sports games are not worth it. I don't know how they got such big scores back in the day
It's simply put something that people like doing irl but either can't afford to do it (golf) or can't do it as often as they want (soccer)
As a soccer fan I can say that most FIFA entries on the PS3 were extremely in depth about it. You could become a manager and you'd deal with pretty much everything about the club, sponsors, transfers, training, tactics and so on. If you're a fan of the sport, it's a game you can sink thousands of hours to
@@delk1299 I know, but if it is a yearly entry it starts getting old. Making the same videogame with minor tweaks and graphics upgrades every year is a waste of resources for the developers. But I guess that they have a contract and it makes them money, so good for them I guess.

Resistance Fall of man was the best fun single player campaign and my first introduction to online gaming which was also great with custom games with up to 32 players!
