If you feel the need to build a new engine, there is absolutely no reason to resist. Go for it. BTW, nice shaper tool. With that one you can make everything:)
Great work so far :) I made a new engine frame for my 512/3 I started from flat bar stock and then bent it round afterwards was easier than making it from tube. Then welded the other pieces together. Thankfully I had the 2smaller versions to copy parts from and many pictures and measurements from a friend’s compete engine.
I love watching you working on projects like this. "Scraptonium"🤣Where exactly is that on the periodic table?😁 It is so satisfying to see the various parts emerge from solid stock. It's also satisfying to see how you come up with solutions for the inevitable problems encountered. 11:12 Nice Hercules 3-speed (?) you have there. Wouldn't mind seeing more of it.😉
8:53 - which version of the song is that? By no means it's the original version performed by Robert Dorsay who some years later was executed in Plötzensee for telling friends a joke ("Ein Mädchen hält dem Führer statt des obligatorischen Blumenstraußes ein Büschel Gras entgegen. Er fragt: „Was soll ich denn damit?“ Das Mädchen antwortet: „Alle sagen, wenn der Führer ins Gras beißt, kommen bessere Zeiten.“). Could this be the later version by Ernst Harten (a.k.a. Hans Horsten, a.k.a. Erwin Hartung?
Super job well done ,I have done similar with a carrette overtype but did have the basics to start. How did you find the drawings & are they available anywhere now. Will look to see how this job progresses .regards Trevstintoys
Wow that sounds like a big job, too! I made the drawings myself, deriving measurements with a ruler from pictures online. If you want, I can email you the plans for this machine once I'm done, for the moment I'll keep them for myself because I might have to make changes during the build.
Kann man dich irgendwie privat anschreiben da ich nen bing dampfmaschinen Prototyp habe und leider der kessel komplett defekt ist eventuell kannst du mit ja helfen
Good Christ, Such a labor of love, the color of your hands at 4:50 lol

I did a little series on the bike when I got it - It's probably 5 years back and the quality isn't the best, but I can offer you that for now

Bernhard Etté :D
@@AstraWerke - Etté was a bandleader, he didn't sing.
@@relgeiz2 my apologies, it was Erwin hartung who did the singing.
@@AstraWerke thanks, I'm astonished. The rollin' "r" hardly sounded like Hartung. Maybe it was Hans Horsten... :-)
Que maravilla la precisión que manejas y la prolijidad, por mas que no sea sobre el modelo A,dá gusto mirate, saludos desde Argentina
