I was camping overnight in my boat 1/2 mile below Oahe dam in 3' of water. Woke up tilted to port. Figured out they shut off water overnight, and I was on mud bottom 100' from shore, with raccoon tracks around my boat. Enjoyed the crystal clear water below the dam, able to see catfish 25' down.

I remember this year. It's when Montana (Jordan) got a butt load of snow and then it didn't stop raining. Fort Peck lake was full and they (U.S. Govt) didn't open up the spill way because of some damn bird or fish that was nesting on the sand bars. It just so happened that later that summer (June) they were given no other choice but to open the flood gates of all the dams on the Missouri up river of Yankton SD. Environmentalists have too big of a voice, lots of fish, birds, damage to personal property and farmland was caused and they (tree huggers) weren't held accountable/responsible.
