Engine 11 on scene. Officer did excellent job taking command, assessing, adjusting and taking an aggressive but safe fire control posture until higher command could relieve. Well done!!
That's called "sizing up". The officer on the first due engine does a CAN - Conditions / Actions / Needs. When the officer first arrives they will get CONDITIONS such as "2 story wood frame construction with heavy fire on alpha and bravo with heavy smoke". They then give the ACTION they need and give crews specific assignments. NEEDS are the manpower and equipment necessary for the fire.
@@mjk4147 No problem my friend! I am not a firefighter but I have been watching a ton of these videos and I have a cousin who is a highly ranked firefighter for Seattle. Either way, I'm glad I could be of any help!!!
The bi-lateral flow of smoke seen at the front door of apartment is a great shot of why the fire is starved for oxygen. Gives you clue as to what will happen when you apply water to fire and upset the thermal balance. Blowing tanks is always scary. Nice job fellas
They did a very good job, great leadership on the Capt. who noticed this can become dangerous and made his crew pull out because of the tanks potentially exploding and it did, great great job everyone!!
Really good video. Great to see good safety practices being used during overhaul. Seemed like a quick knock down. Great communication. I plan to share this video for sure.
Great job! The communication and transfer of command following Blue Card order model! Great to see this in such a progressive cutting edge department. Dang those O2 bottles exploding were loud! Yep… let go defensive until that stops happening. BLEVE of any compressed gas container is dangerous. Good job
Same been there done that but my was very light steam burn but got burn though my glove picking up metal one time it hurt for about 3 days after after a yr of still using those gloves I got better one don't have an issue no more plus I got a better coat got burn though that from the pak on a working residential fire my shoulder hurt for about couple hours after that but yes don't won't ur face getting burn always cover up before hand
That was my first thought as well. At 4:13, you see the attack line stretched from the engine that has the deck monitor flowing, and there's a kink in the supply line running to the engine. That kink would definitely hamper water flow rate plus the monitor flowing doesn't help either in regards to attack line water flow.
Do they utilize “clean cabs”? I ask because at the start of the video the officer appears to just be putting on his turnout coat and and putting on his SCBA while standing outside of the rig??
If the dumpster fire was deliberate and set by someone, that person(s) should be put in prison until they understand how many lives they put at risk of loving their lives. Of course they wouldn't care and therefore wouldn't understand the result of their actions, which basically keeps them in prison for the rest of their pathetic lives. People who set fires are among the most dangerous of them all. Complete trash, they are
That new style hose is lighter, easier to move when charged and maybe easier to maintain but it does kink easily. Everyone has to pay attention to it to avoid water problems. They were just bringing some of that hose in Chicago when I left. We had maybe 30/70 new to old hose so we had to pay closer attention to kinks to avoid water problems too. We had to be a bit more careful flaying it out off the rig and tight spaces like stairwells. It was a bit of relearning . Excellent video fellas and good job at the scene. As Fr. Mulchrone used to remind us every now and then, "you're doing God's work". As I used to say to my guys, the run is not over till you've returned to the house and the rig is turned off. Be safe out there.
I am trying to understand why the horn blast was not used? We had that beat into our heads to always listen for the horn to evacuate the structure. We used a 5,5 and 10 second blast of every engine on scene. Strange protocol for not doing that.
The only negative thing I can see is that the officer that took command from the first arriving sounded like he was writing a book. Like bro, keep it short and take breaks so someone else can break in between. If they had been inside with that line or God forbid needed call a Mayday they would have had to wait for him to finish his speech
This is a helmet camera video. When his head moves the camera moves, but it provides a unique first-person perspective which is invaluable for training. Thank you for watching!
The decision to re-enter the hot zone was based on reliable intel that there were no more O2 or propane bottles, but until we can be reasonably certain those structures are empty these are the risks firefighters take on a daily basis.
i love that fire officer....''we're gonna be doing primary search and attack''...**oxygen tanks explode**...officer: nope

Thank you sir!
ENG 11 Officer did an outstanding job. Great job by all. Definitely use this video as a training video.
Awesome, thank you!
Always a potential hazard when doing residential structural fire's. Great job in recognizing the potential life hazard to crew's and civilians.
Thank you to all firefighters
When your qb throws a pick on the first play of the game. "We're on the offensive...BOOM.... DEFENSIVE STRATEGY"

Thank you for the positive input Chief!
Tuck that hood in‼️ Steam burn aint no joke. I learned the hard way😂
That crap hurts for sure
It'll wake you up quick!

Probie on the knob. You go dude!
Well… I mean… the dumpster WAS on fire.
when the engineer shut down the deck gun so fast i wondered how much water hammer occurred.
No response is ever routine!
At 5:05 the dumpster fire is like he y’all don’t forget about me
How frustrating that must be to face a blazing fire and have your hose nozzle barely spit out any water at all.....
This why fire codes require dumpsters to be so many feet away from nearest structures.
This video is great! Love seeing the tactics and strategies used
We watched two different videos lol
Glad you enjoyed!
I was wondering if the water pressure needing going down from the hoseline had something to do with the deck gun or am I wrong please tell me

Very educational, thank you 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Nice work guys keep it up 👩🚒🚒🚨🇺🇸
Djk34💘💝😘😘 are you single how old you are
Thanks! Will do!
Great job assessment the fire
Good Job fellas

its probably becuase they thought they were going to a trash fire so he didnt have all his gear on.
Noticed the same. That’s called complacency
some departments dont allow drivers to have their boots/pants on while driving
Great job guys
When they were setting up the apparatus on the Charlie side, there was the dumpster fire.
did this go to a 2nd Alarm ?

Thank you! We appreciate the feedback!
If you don't have water, why stand and hold the door open and watch the fire grow. Close the door, back out and figure out your issue.
THE MOSTLY SPUN AROUND WITH THE CAMERA MORE THAN WE SAW ANY OF THE FIRE
Did they ever put out the dumpster fire?
4:48 Just fyi.....be sure to put ur hood on before ur jacket, the probies hood was just laying over his collar & jacket, hate to see burned neck.
Are those Scott 45min packs?

no one was inside. first due company was just stretching the first line
looks like the pump operater needs further training

Pucker factor amplified
Indeed!
that deck gun was stealing all the pressure
music is not needed ... leave it out
Meth house?
more likely an older person's home. the explosions were O2 tanks overheating.
To the person who filmed; please avoid moving cámara so much.

Probie wearing their hood wrong.
Damn didn’t get dressed inside the cab. Y’all probably would have had a knock on that fire if you were dressed. Always be ready for anything
Have they lost their minds? There are oxygen tanks, propane tanks exploding and you send the fire fighters back inside the building, are you nuts?!!
The decision to re-enter the hot zone was based on reliable intel that there were no more O2 or propane bottles, but until we can be reasonably certain those structures are empty these are the risks firefighters take on a daily basis.
Need to get kyle Rittenhouse out there. He specializes in dumpster fires. Easy day.
