From a fellow "gun tuber" Thank you for this detailed video explaining all the base plate options for the Glock 26.....I myself have the Gen 5 and purchased a peirce grip which turned out to be the wrong grip(peirce website is confusing and there's a lot of "double talk")......After watching your video the strike industries+2 and SLR +5 will be my magazine base plates......Thank you once again
Thanks for walking us through your purchases, great information in this video. My wife likes the g19 mags with the X-grip spacers, she’s been using the same 2 spacers for about 10 years and whatever they’re made out of is not breaking down or degrading.
I didn't carry or shoot my 26 since probably 2015-16, or whenever Glock released the 43. Then the 365 released and the other companies were forced to release their 365 clones, so my 43 got put away and I've been carrying the "stack and a half" guns since 2018. Out of the blue I came across your videos on the 26 and saw you talking about the slr +5, so I ordered a few. The milspin ones I was already familiar with, except I only used them on my 19 and 17 magazines. I didn't know about them working with the 26 mags until I seen you using them. So since finding your channel, I've had my 26 slide milled by Battlewerx for an EPS cut, and carry stock 26 Glock magazines with slr, milspin, and Shield Arms +5 baseplates. I've also re-discovered how well I shot with the 26 since taking it out of the safe and "modernizing" it.
Respect! That’s great to hear. It’s true. It still competes and is a great option. Edc has become so marketing and hype driven that it makes people forget about what is already out there! Respect
Yeah I hold this guy responsible to. I went through the same thing with the micro 9 pistols and have owned a few. About a year ago I lost quite a bit of a belly fat,and went back to EDC of my Glock 19. Started watching this guys videos. He has put me back on my Glock 26.
Springer precision bases look interesting. My problem with the 26/27 was that my pinky alls to rest right on the gap between the base plate and edge of the mag well. With Pearce extensions, whether standard capacity or add-a-round would pinch me. Glock pluses weren’t as bad. Flat factory base plates - no problem. Used to take a Dremel to the front lip of the Pearces. The Glock 43 grip frame is only slightly longer but eliminates that problem.
@@spnfirearms true you’ve made me realize that and also the barracuda tacticals are my second fav . I’m glad I’ve watched this. I still love shield arms the best esthetically but for carry or the best option I’m going SLR
U have a very awesome and envious collection of 26's I'm not into glocks big but I think the 26 is one of the best CC options out there and it's been proven for yrs now. Thank u for ur hard work and videos ur one of my favorite g-tubers
im almost done building my p8026 and youve done this video, perfect timing my friend. i would love to see more g26 content in the future. (how many subcompact glocks do you have?!!?)
I have a few different base plates and mag extensions for my 26. I don’t believe a single base plate you showed is flush like the Gee Plate. If you want the absolute shortest set up for your g26, the Gee plate fits that idea. Locks in your grip and helps you find and pull from the draw. If you want plus 1, 2, or 5, you have some amazing options here.
I’m surprised you haven’t run any of the Taran Tactical Innovations base pads. I prefer using the GLOCK OEM +2 or a G19 with an X-grip. The only aftermarket base pads I use are Taran Tactical Innovations. I’ve put a couple hundred thousand rounds through GLOCKs using TTI base pads, so I know they work. Another selling point for me was the easy push pin design. If you’re running a +5 base pad using a stock spring and it’s that much shorter than a G19 mag, it’s probably overly compressing the spring which will accelerate the spring fatigue. The spring should have two coils beyond the length of the mad body plus the base pad, so you should check that regularly if you’re using them for carry.
@spnfirearms yes and no. I've ran 30+ of them and the only issue I saw with them was not feeding steel cased properly because of the plastic design. I'd choose oem ofc but I'm fine with carrying magpul assuming I've put the mag through its paces prior
1:47 thanks for talking to us in round capacity limits states😂 I live in California and I’m looking for a pinky extension options that still keep the grip from printing😅
I have a SLR baseplate on my 27 and I’ve never had a problem with it, it is the California version leaving the 40 with 9+1 but that’s plenty and the grip/look can’t be beat
@@spnfirearms thanks, I also have a taran tactical grandmaster 4lb carry spring kit in it, it’s great and I’ve never had any problems with it. Greatly improves the trigger pull and reset
@@spnfirearms Thanks for the reply! I was disappointed with how they responded to you like you mentioned but 😂 you still said it’s a good product so I figured what the heck!
Just wondering, how does replacing the spring and baseplate on the oem glock mag to extend the capacity with aftermarket parts equal the same reliability as an oem mag with oem spring and baseplate?
Great vid/info! From a cost perspective..is the Henning group baseplate worth it for maybe the +1 and little profile savings over the strike industries? Price wise you can buy 2 strike industries for the price of 1 Henning group baseplate
I bought 2 slr base plates because of your video reviews. I did also get the slr springs to go with them. Are you concerned that the oem springs will not be reliable over time?
Hi spn. Do you happen to have any problems with hgw Glock 19 slides. I bought a dagger frame and a hgw complete slide but I’m having problems with the slide dont going forward all the way sometimes. Any suggestions?

I use Pearce grips +0. It only is longer in front. If it pinches in the gap during rapid fire get a 1/16th rubber o ring. Prevents the wiggle.

Which tti baseplates work for the 26?

I have a 27 and I realized that with compacts it’s all about the baseplate, If it doesn’t improve the grip it won’t help my accuracy
I often carry with the flush 10 round mag. I do shoot about the same with my pinky hanging off than I do with it on a baseplate
I’m 6’4 and my hands are huge so the baseplate for me really makes it or breaks it
