I've seen them 15 times. One of those times was at Old Town School of Folk in Chicago. I saw Dave on the way in and mentioned to him that this was not their usual type of venue. It was my least favorite SCOTS show. It was very subdued. It was somewhat of a letdown but the evening was redeemed when we went to see the New Baum Turks right after that.
Rick Miller is one of my favorite guitar players. After hurricane Katrina I was living in a non-running motor-home but I had a Danelectro and a little practice amp and I learned almost all of Dirt Track Date with the extension cord going to the house, good memories. (edit) bad memories, Biloxi was fucked...
I am 67 and just found SCOTS, heard this song on Spotify. I am a fan. I found John Prine in the late 70s, a lot of people never heard of him. He was a lyrical genius. Unfortunately he died in April 2020 at 72. But the music will live on.
My wife and I saw the SCOTS on our first date back in Feb. 2000 at Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte. I'd seen them dozens of times across the Carolinas, but she never heard of them. I can't believe she agreed to go. How lucky for me. And we still don't miss a chance to see them when they came around.
In 1992 a friend left his cassette of For Lovers Only at my HD shop, I played it and got hooked. Saw them live for the first time at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit, and haven't stopped listening since. Great musicians and great music!!!!
Mine was at Shim Sham club in NO. On a business trip I brought a group of bankers with me. We arrived late and the gatekeeper let us in for free. Best $0 I ever spent. I've seen them at least 15 times since then every time they come to Chicago
KINK WRAY A real American creating American music. From NC, creating his first major song that was BANNED in NY and BOSTON... LINK WRAY came out with "RUMBLE" back in 1958 ! Of Shawnee descent, a real American 😇
I'm in full agreement with those 5th graders! Rice and Beans is my favorite from The Electric Pinecones, but Freak Flag is a blast! So many good songs on that album
The REAL Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is what YOU play, out of YOUR speakers. Not some museum somewhere run by a bunch of out-of-touch snobs telling you who matters to them and who doesn't meet their criteria. I love this band, love the stories too. Mary's little vocal contributions to their songs add more fun. Woulda loved to have heard her perform Love-a-rama!
According to Wikipedia, DGC is still around. Not sure why Rick thinks they went out of business. Maybe it's because Universal Music Group bought them up?
SCOTS continue to be one of the best bar bands on the planet.
One of the best bands on the planet*
Worst crap I've ever heard in my life. Absolute garbage.
@@TheJpep2424 Best band ever GFY.
No fucking lie there, went from roch my to San Diego to see them,oh yeah I did visit my cousins, lol

Last time I saw them was about 20 years ago in Houston and the chicken was flyin'. Great band, great shows.
I don’t know why SCOTS never really took off, such a talented group, awesome arrangement and songwriting, I’ve loved them for two decades
Too quirky. Same thing with The Cramps and Primus. They all got some success, but nothing too mainstream. And yes, all are incredibly talented.
B52s got all the hillbilly party band attention, commercially at least. But these guys are just more fun
They seem so happy I wish I hadn’t taken off
They're just themselves and happy the way they are.

Reminds me of a fun night when I saw Flash Cadillac & The Continental Kids in about '71
I sure wish these guys would get out to the Southwest more often.
Love Southern Culture On the Skids always!!!!
R.I.P. Jeff Walls...
I was just at the SCOTS show the Casbah, San Diego 6.16.22 .Pretty sure they opened with Skull Bucket. Naturally, it was an amazing show!
That mix sounds fantastic! Great band, great recording.

Great set and loved the way you honored Link Wray!
That was fantastic! Brilliant band!
I've been listening to them since Camel Walk came out several moons ago...
And that Dano has so much Cool!
Been to about a dozen shows. Sounded great here, especially Mary. Great job!
The first time I saw SCOTS was at Jacob's Run in Wilmington NC in 1991. Best $3 I ever spent.
Saw them twice at the Mad Monk 93/94!
I was there worked on power and lights
Mine was at Shim Sham club in NO. On a business trip I brought a group of bankers with me. We arrived late and the gatekeeper let us in for free. Best $0 I ever spent.

I just re discovered this band and I am originally from Wilmington, I forgot that they played at all the clubs downtown over the years
Great band, I try to see them whenever they are in the area, love the Danelectro guitar, my favorite song is Firefly, thanks you SCOTS

Awesome sound. Killer guitars tones.
they really are a freakin great band
The drummer with the rods on a snare that is not muffled to death...now THAT's the sound!
Still one of the coolest bands around!
Love the way Rick plays that guitar
Love these guys.
Love this band
Thanks a million for posting, shared!
Esta bandita rifa machin, "ditch diggin" es uno de mis discos favoritos de toda la vida...
Rick is so spot on!! Lobby Link Wray into the R'n'R HOF!! He has been robbed for years.
So Awesome
Man!, that room sounds good, that's some good mike action. The drums are so punchy!
Love y'all, great show to get my SCOTS fix.
Beste Band der Welt💪🏼😎
The story about the gig in Charlotte 23 years ago is priceless. :)
Was in their live in Japan more than twenty years ago..
First time I heard this song was on NCIS: LA. Eric was dancing to this up in ops.
I'm in full agreement with those 5th graders! Rice and Beans is my favorite from The Electric Pinecones, but Freak Flag is a blast! So many good songs on that album
Whatever it is, you've got it!
Seeing them tonight
I understand they are guitar driven but I would like to hear the bass some day. Its always so low

Hey, do you think I could get that quarter from underneath ah your pointy boot?
Hard band not to love.
Love this band why won’t they come and play in Batley at the Frontier
Hello to the band from a guy who bought and still has the 45
Rick loose kinda like Martin Barre. Best Dano sound ever. Great band.
~5:45 they've seized the means of production :-)
Great !
Still bad azz
Rockin, homage to Link Wray.
His guitar sound signature, a bit like CCR.
excelente
Cool as dirt
Good things! Thank Yall
I keep getting spam from Broadberry because I saw you all there.
According to Wikipedia, DGC is still around. Not sure why Rick thinks they went out of business. Maybe it's because Universal Music Group bought them up?
Momma tried .
So they're woke now? Gimme skunk any ol' day!
There's no bass in the mix. ZERO
I feel that bass just fine.
