Saw him and his Son played with him on the Out Standing In Their Field tour back in Halloween 2009 at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta. Very good concert. His Son can play guitar for sure. This song is great.
hey DR Rock....thnaks for posting this....just got phone call from an old friend to let me know he is playing a local club tonight.....I came in to 1) see what he has been up to lately...and 2) Find some tracks to convince the ol' lady that this where we need to be when she gets home from work....been a fan since the first time I heard the dregs quite a few years ago.....good to hear he is till tearin it up....and wish me luck
Bought my tickets last weekend to see him play on Sunday. Good thing too cause it's sold out. Steve Morse and Dave LaRue, man it don't get any better than that for a guitarist like myself or just a plain old music lover. The best alternate picker ever.....period.
Superb guitarist and bandleader in his own right, Steve went to Miami University to study classical and jazz guitar. He formed The Dixie Dregs in 1975 with bassist Andy West. Between 1982 and 1986, readers of ‘Guitar Player’ magazine voted Steve Morse ‘Best Guitarist’ for five years in a row. He formed The Steve Morse Band in 1983 and joined Kansas before switching careers to become an airline pilot.
I would say his composition skill is top notch. The Dregs have won grammys and are considered one of the top fusion bands of all time. Steve Morse is their composer and a great guitarist. I prefer Steve Morse's compositions over Fripp and Jeff Beck's.
@LanceHelmut steve is just playing about 5 times as many notes as u can hear. which is why u can't submit to his awesomeness. those who hear, submit :)
truly a classic Morse gem.

Steve Morse and Dave Larue are great.
I love this song by Steve Morse! How he comes up with these great melodies. Van Romaine and Dave La Rue do the rest, Very good post!!

We expect brilliance from Morse but forget how good the bass player has to be just to keep up!
Drawn back to music, he joined Deep Purple as lead guitarist in 1994, although he maintains his own recording band.

Nominated several times, but.never won one Grammy...
Steve's son Kevin plays guitar on this track too and co-wrote I think.
Great!!
But, it sounds great and I love it.

@ricaard
Steve was Vai's teacher
Steve Morse must of sold the souls of his entire family to play like this
@TheTimananda That might help; I'm a waaay bigger fan of Morse than I am of Vai...
ой как круто
@damnedcarrot
"must have"
Attack of the killer riff-opotamus!!! LOL
Haha just so you guys know this isn't Steve Morse for the most part of this song it's his son.
@TheTimananda satriani taught vai... unless morse taught him as well i havent heard that. i much prefer satrianis playing to vais as well.
you obviously dont listen to Steve with the same ears as i do ;)
@theanimalcrackers Didn't sound like Steve; had a kinda Vai-ish vibe...
