I love this gentleman's home this is my vibe (sorry for the cringey joice of word couldn't think of a better one to discribe what I like ) and this is definitely the home of an old fashioned gent not just a man's home not a worthy word love the video ooh and the rugs wow xx
Got a little behind on videos and just watched this one 😁 Quick question: why do estate sales like this one price so high? What happens to all the stuff when it doesn't sell? Shouldn't they be pricing lower just to get rid of it all? Thanks!
Firstly, thank you for your continued support-it's truly appreciated! Pricing at estate sales can vary based on the homeowner's expectations. Some estate sale companies price items to sell at market rates, while others may initially aim for higher "antique high-end store" prices. Finding the right balance can be challenging, as these companies are aware of both market trends and homeowner preferences. Some estate sale companies do have their own warehouses where they sell any remaining items from the sales at even lower prices.
Most of the rugs there looked like hand tied rugs! Priced not too awfully high for their quality if in a rug shop. You would be so surprised tho the quality rugs you can buy on marketplace, if you watch. Some sellers don’t care what they paid new….they just want to rid of them. The rug you purchased looked hand tied. Not a bad price! I bought an antique 1920’s Malayer rug 5’x17’ priced at $1750 on marketplace for my offer of $800 ❤I have more rugs & pictures & oils than I could possibly ever need! Do your homework before buying rugs. I quick note … a good rug looks the same on the underside as the top in color. You do not want a rug with a backing of any kind. You bought a nice rug!!!
This estate sale is the cream of the crop items. The only way you will get a deal is on the last day at the last hour. Pay attentions, I great learning study on antiques.
Good catch! I got home and saw that it was not added to my large pile. Unfortunately if you watch it back, the seller sets it to the side and it was left behind!
It's true that you can find a wide range of products here. Just like anywhere else, the United States offers a diverse market with varying levels of quality. I’ve been lucky to find some high-quality antiques though!
Wow, that house was just incredible! Not to sound disrespectful, but that's what I want my estate sale to look like! There were so many "goodies" everywhere. The family chose a good company to run the estate sale. The prices were expensive, but def fair. I don't think the fam will get the am't of money they were expecting though. People go to these things looking for great prices. Thxs for sharing! I enjoyed looking around.
I don't think you should be so hung up on prices even for resale. You can resell higher end items if you can explain to the buyer why the value is there for the price. I only consider quality as that is what makes things lasting and holds the value over time. If you are used to buying only low end $5 to $10 items, your brain scans for them based on price only not valuable stuff. Knowing what you are looking at is critical especially on art. You passed some great stuff because you didn't look deeper at what the object actually was. That house was overload. Didn't see a lot of pottery, however. I buy for me and also sell.

I am so glad that you got the rug in addition to the books😃 👏👏👏
I’m so glad too! The rug was such a great find, and it’ll go perfectly with the books. Sometimes it’s hard to pass up a good deal like that! 💛
That stack of smaller rugs❤❤❤
Love the tapestries also..good price❤
I love rugs❤
When you watch Jason Adams, you will not believe the incredible collections he has🥰
Those 2 large iron urns❤❤❤❤
I believe the bookends were either shelves for one displaying one item or Corbells

I agree Sue! It was wonderful to walk inside the home. So many wonderful pieces all around!
Yes on 30.00$ basket
I better hang onto my 9 x 12 rug. Got it for $100 (craigslist) 2010! Yep, the real thing.
You can learn from watching other resellers, like Jason Adams, Crazy Lamp Lady, part time picker, Home schooling picker and more🥰
Did the painting make it to the truck?
Just bought the Louvre book for 50 cents at the thrift store.
I would have gotten lost in book land there, which is one of my favorite places! And the rugs, some of them would make gorgeous pillows!!
yes it was amazing!
Pretty rug. I hope you show us how it looks in your house in your next video!
Thank you I will! Dropping it off to get cleaned 😊

Did you forget the framed watercolor at 27:47 and 28:28 ??
Good catch! I got home and saw that it was not added to my large pile. Unfortunately if you watch it back, the seller sets it to the side and it was left behind!
@@thecarolinabungalow Yes I saw that. That is why I asked you. Did you got it back ?
Unfortunately no I did not as the sale had ended! 😕
You can ask for a discount.
