RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts - about 3-4 chicken breasts
1 1/2 tsp. sea salt
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1 tsp. oregano
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup shallot, minced
1 white onion, sliced
2 cups mushrooms, sliced
6 slices bacon sliced, cooked and drained
1/2 cup Marsala wine
1 1/4 cup beef broth
2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tbsp chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
SLOW COOKER SIZE:
4-quart or larger
INSTRUCTIONS:
Add the chicken breasts to the slow cooker.
Sprinkle over the salt, pepper, and oregano.
Add the garlic, shallot, onion and mushrooms over the chicken.
Sprinkle over the bacon.
Pour over the Marsala wine and beef broth.
Place the lid on the slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 6-8.
When the cooking time is done. Add the heavy cream and mix it into the broth.
Turn the slow cooker to HIGH for 30 minutes more and leave the LID OFF. To help thicken the sauce a bit.
Serve and enjoy! I serve half of a chicken breast for a serving. Alternately you can shred the chicken before serving.

I feel like this will get u tipsy like mulled wine cuz ur not really cooking it out? Or no? I don’t drink otherwise it looks great love ur recipes !! Make the stuffed apples and pb chocolate dessert often!
I use pancetta instead of bacon. That sauce definitely not thick enough to justify adding heavy cream. Let it reduce some. Maybe put in at the 5 1/2 hour mark and put lid back on for awhile.

probably just add some cornstarch/arrowroot and let it cook with the lid off for a bit before serving
add some cornstarch in wine(mix well) then pour mixture into the slow cooker

@@christinavaccaro5417 U could make a slurry of 1/2 cup water & 1 tbsp of cornstarch 30 mins before it’s done cooking. It will definitely thicken up the sauce 🙌💕
What are shallots and what is marsala wine?
Shallots are a type of onion a d Marsala wine you can find at the grocery store, it’s usually fortified with brandy.
Is there a legit substitute for the wine?
U could use chicken broth 🙌
I wonder how this would come out with thighs instead of breasts? Not a fan of white meat
