Blizzard did what any greedy company does, They saw that esports was not just some silly lil thing and that it was making money and selling tickets. Instead of support that they wanted to control it, trying to go behind (Korean e-Sports Player Association) as well as trying to get them to stop.
the copyright thing was just one of the tools used to undermine KeSPA. Because, twitch exists and youtube, gameplay footage is and was all over the place.
Starcraft 2 was an active push to take the cashflow they felt left out on by the scene. KeSPA knew what was going on and never allowed any meetings to take place to form an agreement. If Blizzard actively helped it grow, added match making and other features into BW back in the day instead of being bitter. I think Starcraft could of been their most important keystone of their company.

About the korean intellectual property rights thing. That was in the early days of piracy online, like napster for example. I can understand blizz executives freaking out over Korean TV showing starcraft because of mass piracy the digital world brought with it already undermining intellectual property rights. Maybe it shows lack of foresight in the stodgy executives at the time but that era was still massively disruptive so I think its understandable.

The ㅎㅎ is not angry eye its literally just a typo for gg, the korean keyboard g is ㅎ. ㅎis just a h sounding consonant. They players are typing fast and forgot to press alt to change keyboard output

@@FalconPaladin might be best to pick a whole new term since the all caps EPIC is more noticeable than the ad-on text. But I'd be good with anything that makes me notice especially good games like this that aren't quite epic.
I thought Tasteless mentioned that the Blizzard guys he talked with said that they did try to get some cooperation going with KeSPA early on but the Koreans basically locked them out of everything which left Blizzard with no choice but to do what they did.
Basically KeSPA were just as greedy as people accuse Blizzard of being.

Wait, did Light missclick attack his own turret with the SCVs at 6:25 or something? There is no way 4 unupgraded zerglings outpace 3 repairing SCVs, let alone when the 4th repairman joined at the last moment.

If he hasn't stimmed at all, or just prior? I think he was still stimmed by the time of his demise, so the second time was beneficial to him. Otherwise it would have him take 3 more zergling hits, which I suppose would allow him to take down that first ling or the adjacent one as well, but hardly all three, not at that angle.
Doubt. It was a few of them with a good surround, but maybe he would have gotten an extra hit on them, though I doubt that because his atk speed would be slower. Double the rate of fire, and take the dmg of 2 zergling hits? Def worth imo.

nice win by Light. Soma, just not fast enough, on the recovery, counter, either. Not large enough, either. Had Soma had a moderate amount of time, and a fewer resources, who knows. He just could not pull it off, too weakened near the end, there. Otherwise might have tried to build up an army on the left, away from the attacking Terran main army.
soma needed to use plague with his defilers, two plagues would have been enough to defend.

The kind of copyright stories you're talking about actually happened recently for modders on... Skyrim I think. And yeah, that's the kind of rules that are quite stupids, for example, if Blizzard were to want your UA-cam channel deleted, they can.
