DrumtotheBass Woop i doubt that shrimp will be eatten. It is much to big for the babies and the mother refuses to eat and dies shortly after her babies are hatched.
When an octopus lays her eggs, she never leaves them until they hatch . The entire time, she is caressing them with her arms to prevent mold from growing on them, and using her siphon (protruding tube used to maneuver by blowing water in any direction) to blow fresh water on them to ensure they have a constant supply of oxygen. They usually starve during the incubation, or shortly thereafter because the waiting period 2-10 months, depending on the species. We are the privileged few out of all humanity to witness these adorable babies' first moments of life!

This is so beajtiful! Sometimes I think how interesting would it be to have a meaningful interaction with octopus like we do with dogs, cats, horses, dolphins... (but not enslavering them as some greedy people do). They are very smart and curious, the mum seems to be so careful and loving. I think this species has so much to tell us but we choose to ignore this. I hope all of them went well, what a cute family.
It breaks my heart that the mother dies after her babies break from the egg casing. Also breaks my heart that people eat these beautiful, intelligent and magnificent creatures. RIP momma.

the other thing that annoys me is when they add sound effects to nature programs. Like you have an ant walking along and they add footstep sound effects, or a fish swimming they add swooshing noise, bloody pisses me off.
