Hi Simon, ECU failure is common on SAAB 9-3 2003-2011 because of location. Heat and vibration from the engine can cause failure. You can install ECU saver kit heat shield to prolong the life. For the amplifier, original rubber mats and keeping the carpet dry are the only solution. Yes, engineering is the main issue.🙂👍

Hello! So How important is is that the new Amp1 you buy has the same article number? Ive heard that you need an exactly the same one for it to work.
And i have a 2006 9-3 2.8t. And this is for a 2007 2.0. Should it work?
SAAB 9-3 2007 doesn't have amplifier under the driver seat. It has to be from SAAB 9-3 2003-2006. If it looks the same, it should work.

Check the fade and balance level, speaker connections & resistance readings.
