I’m having a really hard time with my 14 week old Great Pyrenees puppy biting. I’ve been controlling space. I control resources. I’ve tried positive reinforcement. I’ve tried scruffing. I’m a very experienced dog owner. I’ve had everything from Great Danes to Dachshunds to Min Pins to mutts. I’ve never, and I mean NEVER, had such a willful, stubborn dog. When I correct her by scruffing her or taking her collar and holding her body against me, she just gets more worked up. Any advice?

Did you find anything that helped?

I have it exactly the same. I tried everything. Loads of consequences, loads of control on my part, but doesn’t seem to make a difference at all. Help?

@@MagnusFXT Soooo….You’re not going to like what I have to say, but I did find a solution, and it was time. She’s 8 months old now and ALMOST never bites me anymore. We’re still struggling with her playing too rough with my son, but honestly that’s his fault. But I just stayed really consistent with her, and eventually she got it. It clicked that I didn’t want to pet her or play with her if she was biting. I guess there are some quick fixes with some dogs, but puppies like ours are just more stubborn. Hang in there.

@@SoulShiner1115 wow… so nothing really worked? So Maybe it’s no point for me to keep correcting and feel like Im ruining our relationship. I just had a 15 min correction session with him because he didnt stop biting. I think he’a overtired though. I mean Im sweating here… i honestly hate myself for it, but i had to pop him in his crate, or we’d never stop.. i never wanna use the crate as a «time-out» spot, but i can’t imagine keeping to correct him will be any less punishment. Im just out of loss for ideas.. he is 11 wks… so yeah, thats a long time left and i got small kids in the house.. sigh.

@@MagnusFXT my puppy is still super mouthy(more like teething he’s 5 months now)but not biting like he was at that 3 month mark. My best suggestion is a house line. Always keep him on a leash in the house. Also don’t do the long wrestling sessions where you yell and tell him stop biting. Good luck
