I really like that green stock rifle. Until I showed my wife. I showed this to her and she said, "Oh yeah! That would really bring out your eyes." Cue record skipping! I could only blurt out, "Whaaaa?"
Definitely eye catching. As I mentioned on a Heavy-Metal vid the other day, I'm looking at a lot of stock-related material lately as I gather some ideas. I wanna conjure up a custom buttstock for an old Brazilian single-shot. 20 gauge that I want to put some life back into.
Boyd's are definitely some of the best on the market... Choate might be as close as you get to comparison, just depends on what you want to do with your rifle. Happy shopping, God bless!
I love my Boyd's stock on my .308... I got the same one as your 300 WM but I got Nutmeg Laminant. I modified it to fit upgrading from a Savage 11 to a Savage 10 holding a 10 round magazine
Those stocks look killer! If you haven’t done any videos with the .224 Valkyrie yet, I think you should! Curious to hear and see your thoughts on the cartridge and how it performs
Sharp looking man. I like how they basically make it like a pistol grip style as opposed to the original rifle stock grip where your hand is twisted more. I’d say it will definitely make it easier to shoot in the prone position. As always, awesome video WTW! 🤘🏽
Looks good and plays the part as well, l like the green stock. Adjustable cheek wield helps me getting the perfect circle scope picture. Can't wait to see you do some hunting videos with them. Thanks again, fun video.
I bought mine today in 300 win mag and I seen the bad reviews on these and was worried and then I seen all these reviews were from 05 - 12 and I guess these rifles have been improved quite well i was always raised with a saying " a gun is what you make of it "
In the video, you show the adjustable thumb hole stock and the simpler Spike camp stock. Could you do a comparison? Is it worth the extra price for the adjustable for hunting?
Can you do a weight comparison between factory weight and the weight once you swapped to the Boyd's. I have an At One and love it on my target rifle but am curious about what the spike camp weighs compared to a factory plastic or wood stock
I am waiting for my Boyd’s AT ONE Stock with Thumbhole for my Savage Axis XPII 308 SS. I chose the Applejack Red, the gun shoots well already, not expecting improved performance just looking to make it more flashy. I was shot shooting 1” MOA yesterday with the standard stock
Hey WHO TEE WHO , just a quick question , did you get your stocks with the optional Aluminum Piller Bedding ? I'm about 2 weeks away from ordering the Thumbhole All In One for my T/C Compass .308 and thought I'd ask before "pulling the trigger"...............(see what I did there ?)
Atta boy WHO_TEE_WHO, had a Boyds stock on a Remington 700 in a .30-06. After some time I figured out that I had too many .30-06's and sold it to buy another .30-06, HUH!, M1 Garand. About 8-10 years ago I sold the Garand. I know, I know, I don't sell or trade guns any more.
@@WHOTEEWHO They are fun to shoot. The one I had didn't have a great deal of value. It had been re-fitted after WW2 with parts that weren't worth much. I was shooting a 150 grn spire point bullet at about 2,900 fps through my chronograph and sometimes the operating arm would jam back and the trigger guard would sometimes open to release the fire control assembly. It was a gas to shoot though when it was working well. I often thought that if I just would load that down to about 2,700 fps it might have worked better. I believe that load, my .30-06 load for hunting, was 54 grains of 4831. I don't hunt much with the .30-06 any more. I prefer the .308, Remington Model Seven CDL. It has a short 20" barrel and works well in a blind
My Ol' Man served in a recon platoon in an armoured regiment when he served in the Army. The Army had switched to the Garand by then (chambered in 7.62 NATO), but as a youngster, he was short and skinny, so he didn't enjoy the Garand much. After boot camp he was picked as radio operator for the platoon master sergeant. He didn't speak English that well, and sported the notorious thick Danish accent, but the rest of the bunch either spoke no English, or spoke it even worse. Thus, he traded the Garand for a Husqvarna 9mm smg. He was not exactly menacing as a marksman, and since the Army was in short supply of 9mm ammo back then, he didn't get much practice. The platoon master sergeant just shrugged, he needed a good radio operator more than he needed a good marksman. I didn't serve in the Army, so I never got near Garands or HK G3s (which had replaced the Garand in most units, but not all, when I was eligible for service). I have heard that the Garands are mighty fine rifles.
How much do those boyd stocks weigh? Im considering getting one for my american gen 2 in 7.62x39 but the stock... stock.. weighs like 1.9lbs. I also dont really like how tip heavy it is right now. Also are those boyd stocks free floated?
Always liked Remington rifles, but alot of us will never purchase them due to there almost refusal to make their models in left hand. The 770, the new 783 as far as I know were never offered in left handed model. Sure they offer a limited selection of 700's with limited calibers, but thats about it. So we buy Savage, Tikka, and Rugers with no regret. Good video and love the Boyds stocks!
Absolutely gorgeous looking stocks ... not sure which one I like better both are very clean looking ... had a question in your paper testing was there a penetration difference in the 30-30 revolver to a 30-30 rifle

Did you see any accuracy improvement with the 770 300 with the Boyd’s stock? Just curious. I am changing mine to a Boyd’s also, just waiting for it to get here.
@@WHOTEEWHO I got ya. I was just curious. It’s not bad stock for accuracy but I know there has been talk about the synthetic stocks not being truly free float like you get with the Boyd’s. I’ll do some testing when I get mine in and see.
they definitely look really nice and way better than the factory stocks. I have a question about them. how are they for left handed shooters. are they left or right handed specific or are they universal. I tried shooting a friends 22 with a thumb hole stock and absolutely hated it. in fact I was so turned off by the experience I have passed up very nice rifles just because it had a thumb hole stock. the 22 I was shooting was right handed specific and had about a half dollar size thumb hole. I noticed the stocks you have had a much larger hole
Two things keep me from buying one of these stocks for my shotgun. 1) The wood around the thumbhole looks spindly. 2) The grip looks like it might not be good for larger hands.
Awesome video! I got a Remington 770 in 300 win mag and was thinking about getting the spike camp stock. It's cool to see it on my exact model. Did the stock come with a trigger guard, or do I need to buy one separately?

I'm considering getting an at1 thumbhole for my new ruger american predator in 223.. what do you like better the boyds at1 thumbhole or the oryx chassis?
@@WHOTEEWHO You keep me jealous lol. In a good way though. I just went to the gun store couple days ago, I'm catching up. I need to see if Boyd makes a stock for my 8mm Rem. Mag.
They look kinda cool. I mean, I'm old school, so wooden stocks are my favorites, but as fancy-pants space age thingies go, they're not bad. I like that green stock better, and the name is a plus 😁
You can get the Spike Camp (blue one in video) in a "walnut" finish. It's still Boyd's laminate but looks like walnut, if you're not into the more modern laminate look
