They are just getting old and the direction of NASCAR isn't helping either. The Fox guys are pretty much going full butt-kissing mode and trying to promote the stuff that the Frances are doing. Plus Darrell never drove a Gen 6 car, so he's pretty out to lunch as far as technology on the cars today. Jeff Gordon came in the booth and is a welcome addition, next up they need to replace DW.
3:20:43 boy you arnt kidding!!! and he almost hit that "gap" in the fence!!!! . 2003 is so strange to watch ya got half the safety we have today but what they did have after Sr's death...... prevented SO SO SO many deaths in 2002 and 03+
One of the many Pocono races that my mom and I attended too over the years. I started the streak of going to the track from the Aug 2002 race until July of 2004 then went back to the track in August of 07 and 2009.
2003 Pocono 500 Location: Long Pond, Pennsylvania Track: Pocono Raceway Type of race track: Superspeedway Starting cars: 43 Finishing cars: 33 Laps: 200 Cautions: 5 Pole Winner: Jimmie Johnson (48) Most laps led: Sterling Marlin (40) (44 laps led) Race Winner: Tony Stewart (20)
My mom was happy as hell that day cause her,her ex fiance John, his son Johnny, and both myself and my brother jack we're there sitting by the start of turn 3.
44:18 did you see how that fire did a "loony tunes" deal their? . like.... it caught up to the car.... and made the fuel cell "explode"? i thought that was only in the movies!!!!!!
Your favorite driver must of been too slow to race with Dale Sr. Must've made you cry alot when your favorite driver couldn't take the pressure of Dale Sr being in rear view and ended up wrecking. Put yourself in his position, if your the fastest car on the track, and some dude in front of you is at a snails pace trying to block you, do you really think your just going to slow down because the car in front of you is so slow?? No, you would try to go around them, and if they block, your gunna bump and run. Not Dale Sr's fault people are so scared of him and completely lose control when he gives them a little bump.
Man, just listening to Mike Joy, Larry Mac and DW, they just seemed to have more energy calling the races back then.

Sad how old age gets you out. I will miss them when mike and dw leave. Grew up listening to these guys!
@@gyro727 Jeff Gordon out of the booth, now Clint bowyer
They really did. Larry Mac is from my area in Alabama too
One of the craziest races of 2003. Ken Schrader and Dale Jarrett having fiery crashes, and Jeff Green's head-on crash with 3 to go.

That Jeff Green crash still scares me. I’ve heard it knocked his shoes off.

If Kenny Schrader would’ve went into the wall nose first he’d been DOA. Thankfully, he went into the wall ass first.
Tony Stewart's 1st win in a chevy

He’s lucky that I still don’t have the old boiler plate wall. If they did that would’ve been a whole lot worse
These guys look young here. Waltrip, Larry.

Forgot how obnoxious the dale jr lead change crowd shots were
Didn't bother me a bit, and I was still an 18 fan then. I didn't jump on the Jr bandwagon until the 20 went Toyota.
Just here because i know the Pocono races this weekend ae going to suck lmao
I like KTTV.
Casey Atwood in an R&D Evernham car lol
