IDC what Kyle Busch has done in the 18 car. Bobby Labonte will always be my number 1 for one of the most respectful champions in NASCAR History. Cheers to you Bobby Labonte if your reading this.

Facts - Kyle is a disgrace to that car and its history

I quit following the 18 when Bobby left Gibbs to drive for someone else. I took Joe Gibbs at his word when he said he's stick with GM. A few years later I jumped on the Jr bandwagon when gibbs went toyota.

Amazing Dave Marcis didn’t get seriously hurt. Unreal that in 1999 the majority of driver, or all of them didn’t have anything to prevent their heads from bouncing around. It’s rather pathetic. It’s a miracle only a few drivers died in this stretch.

Jesus Christ. That was a shot that Marcis hit at. Luckily the angle he hit wasn’t the very worst.

Dave Marcis did an interview with the Scene Archives podcast describing that wreck and he mentioned that he had shoulder straps on that most other drivers didn't use at the time and he says flat out that without those straps, he would've been killed on impact.

You're looking at his 1999 accident with 2022 glasses and calling it pathetic. It isn't pathetic, they just had no clue. Ironically, at that time they were just discovering concussions. (Think Troy Aikman, Chris Benoit Junior Seau, etc). Unbelievable, maybe. Pathetic, not really.

This could've been Travis Carter's best effort as team. Jimmy Spencer lead some laps and could've won the race & Darrell Waltrip was running top 5 until contact with Sterling Marlin, but could've had a Top 10 like last year if it wasn't for Steve Park wrecking him out of the race.

Dave Marcis after that vicious crash would go on to say, if he hadn’t worn the HANS device, he would not have survived. Then followed the tragedies of 2000-2001.

@@TheRooster-hz4wnThe actual race opening with Eli mentioning their kids for Father's Day is amazing proof.
