Playmates re-issued the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutatin' Mutations line w/ Leo, Raph, Don, and Mikey & now we get Rocksteady & Bebop! We take a look, review them, and test them out!

Just grabbed these ate my local target. Was not expecting to see these them. Was a nice surprise!

I literally just picked these vintage figures up at the beginning of 2023. I really didn’t think we'd be getting reissues of these.
Looks like the biggest difference is the plastic being used whoch was expected but they look pretty accurate for the most part. The only noticeable difference at first glance is that the tail has no paint.
I am hoping we get those other ones sometime this year too.
Yeah, I noticed very little issues/differences too. Which is nice, since some re-issues they went too different/cheap at times ha.
@gnarlywolfman88 Just picked them up tonight although I'm keeping them in the box, I already have the originals in pretty good shape.
Good to hear that the quality is on par with these. It's funny that some figures end up really good and others pretty iffy.
I hear that Rat King, Casey and Metal Head is the next wave.
hm I remember him completely different. Mohican hair and a huge nose ring? These are still nice figures though. Where did you buy them from? I trust you're somewhere in US.
I feel like the nose ring also made sense lol. Yes. I got them at Target. I think they will be available at Walmart too but not sure.
Love these figures, brings me back to the early 90's, I had these figures as a kid, so major nostalgia rush.... The only problem with Bebop, and this even bothered me as a kid; Bebop is suppose to be black. Go back and watch the OG 80's cartoon. Bebop is a black dude. Why did they make him white in this figure? Im assuming because these toys were made in China, and we all know how China is.

I think for the way he looked was just how odd Playmates were back then. A lot of characters didn't look like the cartoon (Ray Fillet, Tragg, etc). Just how I see it.

Exactly man, that shit even threw me off when I was a kid. Im guessing because the toys were made in China, and we know how China feels.

I don't see a problem with it, because the skin colors are essentially swapped. Light skin human, dark skin warthog for the mutating toy, which is a swap of the dark skin human and light skin warthog from the cartoon. Both skin colors are represented somewhere, they're just switched around, so it's fine. Keep in mind, the toys are vastly different from the cartoon versions of the characters:
1. In the cartoon, the four turtles are all the same shade of green. The toys are light green for Raph, dark green for Mikey, olive green for Leo and brown for Don.
2. Rocksteady is fat in the cartoon. His normal "basic" toy was slim.
3. Slash and General Tragg's toys are COMPLETELY different from their cartoon counterparts. Slash's toy is generally agreed by fans to be superior to the cartoon. Tragg's toy is arguably worse.
4. Krang never uses the smaller robot chair in the cartoon that his toy version comes with. He uses a completely different one.
5. Shredder's toy has no shirt. He has a grey sleeveless one in the cartoon.
The toys seem to have their own continuity from the cartoon they supposedly come from.
