I think one thing that makes Heat better compared to Unbound is the whole vibe of the game, but also the map. In Heat the map fits quite well for the summer vibe racing theme they were going for, compared to Unbound where the map just feels bland when contrasted with the effects they were going for, which I think would of been less of a problem if they went for a Tokyo-like inspired map
the biggest problem with NFS Unbound's map is how unclear it is: it's very difficult to tell if a fence or a tree is going to break apart or not when you hit it, and there's also tons of random rocks and walls and barriers and stuff that prevent the player from just beelining to their destination and it's so inconvenient I hate it so much

Another thing I think was better in Heat too is holding on to all of your upgrades .. if I sell a car, I keep all the mods and can apply them to a different one .. I hated that in Unbound, you sell the car you lose EVERYTHING and have to grind to get it all back which could takes (in game) weeks
Well in real life can't just swap your engine and upgrades to a new car unless that car is compatible with the same engine. I like that about unbound that there are some parts and engines you can use on multiple cars because they are compatible in real life.
Easy win for Heat with me. One thing I really really love about heat over unbound is the races at night seamlessly put you back into the open world. I think it just works better than unbound’s end of race menu (or whatever you want to call it) I especially like it when you are in a cop chase, the weird countdown that unbound does just breaks up the action and it’s not as intense as heat.
Nfs Heat’s day and night cycle is so much better and the fact they had actual off-road/rally races. The next need for speed needs better matchmaking and a return of the cycles. Day which has sanctioned races with no traffic and no collision for online or offline(it doesn’t matter, maybe the host could choose) would be wonderful. The circuits should much longer than Unbound’s imo. Night would have aggressive cops which actually flag you for speeding, you build up Heat through racing and there should be Heat 3/5 races. I think the gauntlet event should return but as a transitional series of races going from day to night and you keep the police on u till u lose them(at the end of series). There should be more knockout style races in general and maybe even Tournament races for custom versions of cars which come with like Gold brakes and Boost at no point increase/or just naturally better. Online Tournaments should be the same but for daily, weekly, and monthly. In day time tournaments it would emphasize your actual skill rather than simply winning- lap speed, sticking on track, avoiding walls, avoiding other players if collision is on, etc… At night the tournaments only care about how well you can win and avoid cops.
Also keep the separate progression between online and singleplayer but bring back impound strikes and losing ur save game if u have no more cars only in singleplayer tho
@@igotnokillkeep progression separate but allow the transfer of vehicles once you’ve reached a certain level or have earned enough money to have the car carried over. I just want a way to transfer my upgrades and customizations without the hassle. And I’m all for trying out different rides but some are special to me
I’d say the days races have gotten boring now because it doesn’t really offer that much and the off road races were a step down lapped races then payback which in my opinion had better off-road races
Something not mentioned is the community in heat. Having 8 party members is so much better. Heat developed a deep drag racing scene because of it. I got over 2000 hours in heat just drag racing at the port and outside the garage. Unbound is just racing and link ups. In heat people would cruise, drift, build different crews and the ability to complete the story with friends is goated. Heat just feels more of a co-op game
Drift zones are what keeps me going back in Heat. I've added a lot of players just from that activity in game. My top score for the drift zone outside the racing circuit is still unbeaten to this day (220,000 pts).
@CappuMilku the community didn't need them to add drag racing we just did it ourselves. Lined up had one person do light like real life street racing. It was a vibe man
@CappuMilku the crews were resl in drag scene. We'd have crew vs crew lobbies where each sent their 4 best dragsters and set the beef. Cash app rounds and for respect
It’s funny how we have drag tires in the game, but no drag events I’m assuming the former were carryovers from payback and somehow found no use in the game outside of custom lobby shenanigans
What bothers me of the car list is that in the last 2-3 NFSs they added more hyper-super cars. If you look at the car list of NFS 2015 there were less cars in general but most of the cars were cars for enthusiasts and very little supercars. So I'd like that NFS would return to its roots with more tuner-focused cars and less SUVs or modern supercars. NFS Unboud brought the new Z and the S14 but I don't think it's enough.
NFS started off with stock sports/ supercars. The tuner scene wasn’t introduced until Underground. NFS going back to its roots is focusing on supercars, not tuners.
Bro these games barely have any SUVs what SUVs do these games have that people actually want? It’s nothing wrong with SUVs they just need to give people the SUVs that people want instead of just random SUVS. People been asking for specific SUVs it’s only certain SUVs that are actually cool but NFS keeps putting in the most unwanted SUVs ever they finally put the Urus in the game and that’s been out since 2017 and it just now got put into the game in 2022??? That makes no sense and the spam this game with Lambos and Porsches are their favorite cars I swear.
One thing I liked about limited repairs in heat is that it made it a lot harder and your heart would race with no repairs left and rhinos coming at you
Fr, the amount of times i went "hmmm just a lil more so i get heat 5 " or "just a lil more and i get another lvl" and i actually get arrested is impressive, its frustrating but it gives emotion lol
I remember being so hyped for Heat’s reveal back in August of 2019, Unbound is good and love the online, but Heat takes the cake, but love the cars in Unbound
As much as I'm loving Unbound right now, I can't deny that Heat was just superior in it's prime. Just hoped they continued the game instead of abandoning it too early. Could have been the best nfs ever gameplay wise.
It is to me. There's never been a NFS game from the 2000s that you'd play consistently post story. Heat is the best. The freedom, the races, all of it. Never spent so much time post story in a NFS game. Never spent time in MW05. Barely in U2 and Carbon
@lust1875 on its worst day a 2/10. On its best day, a 6/10. Why?: - You have to drive perfectly in order to win on S+ because if you don't "reverse rubberbanding" happens to where racers in front will just build a bigger lead no matter how fast you're trying to catch up - Blue nitrous is useless (lacks power input) - Class restrictions - You can't use any car (69 charger for example) to compete against the best cars in the game (McLaren). That's arcade at its finest - sense of speed isn't there until maybe around 130 mph - Car Physics (drifting is fine though)
Idk I liked unbound better tbh the game only came out last year so it’s almost 2 years old it’s still growing on people, just remember nfs heat came out before covid existed so obviously we have grown to love that game more.
I know i am late, but i do agree, the story of heat is really good. Its just a shame it had to end at lv30 instead of 50 bc the studio disbanded and left us blue balled. We will probably never get the continueation exept if they do smth like a "most wanted" remaster.
@@zaqu837honestly, my main problem is they didn't fully commit into the animated art style. If they want to they could've make the entire game have an animated cell shaded aesthetics and fully commit to it. But instead we have something so half-a**ed and doesn't look great. If they want to make an NFS game with anime art style, they should just fully commit and make the game take place in Japan. An Initial D inspired NFS game would be more interesting than whatever Unbound is trying to do.

Need for Speed Heat looks like a really fun game honestly. I've never tried it and I'd like to play it soon. It's unfortunate how much of a wasted opportunity this is. It really had the chance to be the best need for speed game in the franchise if they didn't drop it so fast. Now as the updates for Need for Speed Unbound slowly become less and less frequent, I fear they're doing the same thing again.
@@MerrillDragonAge I have unbound. How exactly am I judging NFS heat? What I said about EA dropping this game is common knowledge and I've seen too many people to count say this could have been the best one in the franchise if they kept it alive and updated it.
@@not_kjb welp, they already made that in 2012, nothing can stop then to dance on the bones of it once again 🤷♂️ But i also hope they will actually do something really universal, unique and stylish, i would like Unbound if there was at least some more music genres than rap, but besides that the game and even side about cars is pretty good
Personally I liked the direction that Heat was going in. I remember seeing a video about the features lost in heat final production and it really would have emphasized having a crew and including that social media aspect of it to the game. The community was already doing stuff like this by having impromptu drag race and car meets it was a cool to see. I like unbound and thought there were gonna deeper into what Heat established by adding things like a space to actually be in a car meet environment. For some reason it hasn’t felt like the community has created that atmosphere because they don’t like the game as much or just don’t have the tools to recreate that same vibe idk.
Also wanted to comment that I really missed the day night cycle and having something to risk at night. I never felt that in unbound. The takeovers were overhyped and boring to me and the side bets didn’t amount to anything. Rocky was just a cameo in this game and really added nothing to the story and I also enjoyed heats story waaayyyy more. I loved Unbounds music, loved heats atmosphere and I loved unbounds racing as well. I wish I could combine the two aspects of the games that I like and create Heat 2.0 The more they lean into that car sense of community (almost like a Tokyo drift esque experience) the better. Having a crew and racing against other crews, off road, driftin togue style AND high speed races on the free ways would be amazing! I also hated how unbound handled cars. Locking iconic cars behind a pay wall will never sit right with me.
@@Flameville they locked the mclaren F1 with paywall in heat. just my luck, the only car that i will do everything to grind for in any game is the only paywalled car in a game that i had just bought
Both games have their perks, but when Unbound was announced and was noted to have seperate progression for Campaign and Multiplayer, NFS Heat instantly got my vote. I just skipped out on playing Unbound's campaign altogether, and opted to watch youtube playthroughs of it. Obviously, Theo was my first choice for Unbound content✌️
Guess I'm in the minority but having played both for the first time last year, I preferred Unbound in almost every way. The biggest thing that disappointed me about Heat was the map and the overall atmosphere. It was marketed as a game with a very Miami/Outrun aesthetic but the actual game (during the day) was just cloudy and damp looking. It was a total shift from the atmosphere they showed off in the trailer for Heat which I was watching on repeat for 3 years.
Yeah Miami city just felt very gloomy and got very repetitive after playing the game for a while and I used to get headaches, Unbound definitely took all the flaws from Heat and made sure the game was much more stylized and honestly a whole lot better to just look at. Sadly everyone will hate on Unbound now without even giving it a chance because thats just how new games are treated.
@@jake8243they killed it with the miami vibe. Only its just feel too empty. Ob day light you get some bad weather and good weather. But overall the style, heat looks much better and more like an adult game. Nfs should be +18. not a fkn child game
At 8:51 something I’ve noticed with unbound is when when air suspension is installed it barely drops a car, I personally prefer unbound but this is definitely something that was done better on heat and also payback
I love heat more just because it feels better driving wise and that u can grind in the daytime and u illegally race in the night along with the fact that there is so much backfire and pops. Used to make me let off the gas so often.
i liked heat, but one thing i didn't like was how empty the map looked and felt, you could tell they might've not have had as much time as they wanted to make the map look nice. unbound on the other hand, looks amazing and the city looks filled with small details and doesnt feel unfinished in a way
What killed unbound for me is it felt too similar to Heat. Sure the gameplay was different in ways but the menus, upgrade systems, and UI were still very similar if not the same. Ultimately, I enjoyed unbound more and loved having classes to get more use out of my lower grade cars. Only thing I wish they kept from unbound were the off road races. Also, the drifting in heat was absolutely a pain in the ass for me and I couldn’t do any of the drift events, even with a drift setup. In unbound, the drift events were one of my favorites and it felt really natural for some cars.
I hope one day in the future they remaster heat and add more content onto it, I feel like if they kept updating heat it would be one of the best need for speeds out here
I only picked up Heat about a year or so for about a fiver in the Steam sale and am still getting decent value out of it, when Unbound was announced I didn't see anything that was sufficiently different to warrant getting it. I liked how from most wanted to carbon to prostreet there were significant gameplay differences, Heat to Unbound felt almost like Unbound was just Heat v1.5 from the pre-launch stuff to me.
We need Heat with constant updates like in Unbound and a 60 fps update as well i feel like if these two things were added in Heat it would easily be the best modern racing game
@VloneKid25 I prefer Payback and Heat over Unbound. I don't care what they say. Ghost did a great job all around. And for the ratio of games they did better than Blackbox.
I mean it gives people who play only online a chance to keep up with people who play story and it would be bad if you have to play the story just to play online and compete and don’t want to play anything regarding the story
Some people don't understand that unbound is a big improvement in NFS franchise, even if it seems little. You can say the music is bad, and I agree, that's why you can turn it off and put on your own playlist. The game is much more optimized, it looks and feels like an arcade game. It's not trying to be a sim-cade like some of the precious games. Police chases are very entertaining, ai is smart and forgiving. Story is not there just to be there, it's interesting to follow. Ofc this game has bugs and problems, but in general it's a very sick and interesting part of the franchise. I believe people will look back at it in the future and think it's an underrated masterpiece haha.
Nah fr unbound is such a good game, I feel like people hate on it now but they did the same with Heat and most recent NFS games when they first come out. They're quick to jump on the bandwagon and not really enjoy the game for themselves but appreciate it a few years later when thats the trend. Everything about Unbound for me is better and I really love all the decisions they made going forward and all the stylistic choices as well. This is not to say Heat is a bad game and I can understand why people might prefer it to Unbound but saying that Unbound is ass when it is much more polished and really well made is not fair.
NFS Heat is 95% better than Unbound it blows Unbound out of the water. They should’ve just built off NFS Heats map, tweaked the handling/physics and added more cars. Then called it NFS Heat 2 that story was so much better too 💯
Need for speed heat is great but after you finish the main story, it’s so boring since the open is just so empty while cop chases just get easier and easier
Don't finish it right away. There's more races then unbound. Unbound can feel like you're just doing the same thing. It took me like 60+hours to finish Heat vs 30 on unbound. Offcourse though I did hit some walls, but I avoided finishing it fast.
Cars: Unbound Customization: Unbound (heat has some cool features) Handling: Unbound Cops: Heat (Mixed after watching the video) Day/Night: Heat Events: Mixed (Bad drift in Unbound, heat doesn't need more than one car so the player sticks with the RSR) Cityscape:Heat Story: Heat
18:47 Favorite moment. Matty is screaming like a woman in a horror movie over two police cars slowly escorting him like he's an old lady crossing the street.
The funniest thing about all this is that EA merged these two games and gave rise to NFS mobile, which wasn't even officially released, but from the demos we could already see that it's a fusion of heat and Unbound 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Now the question remains: what will happen to NFS on consoles?
Anyone else play Hotpursuit? The police chases were amazing and thrilling simultaneously I WANT that in future NFS games. They nailed that on the head back in the day...
Waiting for NFS unbound to go 95% discount on steam so that I can finally try it and compare it to heat and to other NFS I played that are currently in steam. Yes I bought all of them to their all time lowest prices, except 2015, it never goes down to more than 75%.
I personaly love Heat because at Day it feels like MW/Prostreet and at Night it has mutch Underground feeling with no easy Cops. Map/City, Story, Multiplayer, Garage is mutch better in Heat.. Only more Offroad/Speedcross, Drag Racing, the Mitsubishi Eclipse, the Mazda Rx8 and the Nissan Silvia S14 Boss i miss in Heat. Heat has the right way before EA let it fall..
Absolutely this. I love the need for speed prostreet feel they added to day races. I wish they would've added more crowds, tents, barricades, banners but it was enough for me. Prostreet is my favorite as a life long nfs gamer.
I don't like unbound because the physics and handling. Weren't much better in heat but it felt a lot more manageable when trying to race. Also doesn't feel like EA really added that many new cars/kits to the game. Hoping for a bigger jump between unbound and the next game.
I just recently picked up NFS Unbound, and based on my experience, I like NFS Heat way more. I also really like the fact that the night races in NFS Heat have a smooth transition from the race to the cop chase. It reinforces the illegal aspect of the race
The concept behind heat was better in my opinion, you had a racing festival during the day and an underground scene at night. I loved that during the day you could just drive from one race to the other without being followed by 20 police cars.
I remember a year or three ago me and my friends grinding nfs heat night time for parts and we had a tactic(police were too hard sometimes) one or more person, the racer would be racing etc getting the parts staying alive, one or more person would be in truck or heavy car there basically murder the police and then the final person would be on the map telling the drivers where to go. I did really liked when the police were harder, I played recently and the police felt easy. although I would agree that the nerfs were perfectly agreeable considering solo players
I liked heat better, but unbound was a solid game, heat just made me actually fear the police and the night time grinding didnt feel like a grind, it was actually fun, unbound felt like a grind to get new cars and jave enough money to upgrade them
Unbound is miles better than Heat because it has Linkups, car tier system, burst nitrous & Gauntlet playlists. And multiplayer is also better in Unbound compared to Heat where people only use RSR.
The variety Unbound provides is a valid take honestly, but the Regera meta in S+ will stay annoying. Also, gauntlet playlists are just less dynamic high heat races that Heat already had, and they were added in like Vol. 4 lol
As a ps5 user its an easy choice cuz its 1080p 30fps (heat) vs 4k 60fps (Unbound) so as long Heat doesn't get an ps5 remaster Unbound will always be better on console at least
Unbound at the end of the day fixed what was wrong with heat. Online and offline are now 2 separate modes. Car classes were added so now the RSR isn’t the only meta car anymore. Build diversity actually exists now thanks to the new engine swap mechanic. Not to mention the burst nos, and different driving dynamics sense grip builds and drift builds exist now. Say what you want about unbound but I could never return to an RSR meta fest that plagued heat from day one.
@@martinpetkoski2547true, but in unbound each individual part actually does something significantly different to the performance. It makes a huge difference compared to heat. I still love heat but after unbound I can’t go back. The RSR isn’t the only car being used anymore and with car classes being added it gives us the ability to actually use other cars.
To have so many people question whether or not Heat is better than Unbound is a statement within itself .. Unbound had made some improvements as far as quality, but took a huge step back in gameplay .. I played through the story mode on Unbound and immediately went back to Heat
I really like Heat. Getting away from the cops is really hard, especially because your car gets damaged really fast and knocking the cops out is not easy. I mostly did it with jumping. Unbound is way easier with cops crashing in the traffic and knocking them out quite easily. A mix would be cool, where knocking cops out in heat would be simpler.
Ngl I absolutely hated the handling in Heat because of how you were forced into "drifting" when cornering, was so glad to find an option in Unbound that turns it off
What is annoying about unbound is the terrible road conditions in the city area. Every little curb, parking lot entrance and road elevation variance loses you grip. It feels like it's full of invisible potholes. The game encourages cutting through sidewalks and parking lots yet doing this through a 90 degree turn will put you in the wall. Even that 45 degree turn inside the city by the Chicago River at 75% to the end of one of the long races sends you into the sidewalk rail unless you slow down. Like an invisible speedbump. The city circuits are my least favorite races due to this. It never happened in Heat.
I actually like unbound because the effects are really unique and cool, plus the amount of cars are in the game. Unbound is my favorite need for speed game
NFS 2015 had a better way to separate drivers. They should honestly make a "ranked" system again, with bigger rewards. Have a set few races where you can earn more based on how many events you complete. A track creator would be nice too. Not anything dramatic. Just something to make unique races. I'm sure many of us would enjoy it
Shockingly enough Unbound's save slots may seem endless but it's still only 100 wraps and the game just doesn't tell you that You would think that they would increase the limit considering the generation it released on but nope, still only 100 wraps and you're only able to follow 20 players
@@Name-cr8lewe need to stop making the paint for the cars take up a whole slot in the wrap editor, GT7 also has this issue; but The Crew has the car paint and wrap in two separate slots. Why can’t they do that?
the character design is absolutely terrible in Heat, the cop chases in heat are better too. No one needs to boast about stories, because if you play NFS you're probably not playing for the story. I think both stories are garbo. If i had to choose, it would probably be unbound though.
seeing the stories of the last 3 NFS, which are childish, I don't know who is more childish, the game stories or Blackphataa Maybe it's content for child and teen. *Explaining,* I'm not being a "hater", but the video style was very infant.
idk rly, for me a ton of small details from unboud starts to feel like upgardes i couldnt live without. For example the npcs in the city in Unbound on sidewalks add so much to the vibe compared to empty streets of Palm City. Same goes for all the small additions in customization. The only part in which i find Heat trully a better game is the police and i mean the patch 1 police not current version police. It was so much fun when the police in this games felt brutal for once in chases. And when it comes to multiplayer i would like to see a lot of ideas combined from mutiple games but Unbound is the most enjoyable for me rn in terms of just mindless fun. Not saying Heat is a bad game, i had tons of hours of fun with this game, but for me Unboud is evolution of this game and hits it for me a bit more
So basically Unbound is superior in almost every way except the story and the map. Unfortunately those two are exactly what do most players define that which game provides better feeling to them.
I prefer unbound, because the city atmosphere is more lively, like, there are lots of cars parked in the Side of the road, and there are pedestrians.😊 (I played both and when I played heat, the car handling was good but the city atmosphere was boring)
Probably the major problem of modern nfs is how you can take control over the car, like in nfs underground 1-2 you feel like you can dodge all traffic on the road, while in nfs unbound you starting farming burst nos and while traffic on youre way you just crash - in this situation we don't have any chances to dodge a crash. Also if you're car get impact with traffic (even paint traid), walls - car stops drifting (if you tap to drift before), or start lose grip.
The one and most important issue I have with Unbound is the garage and day and night. The garage in Heat was beautiful. I could easily switch cars and see them on display.
Been wanting to make this for a while! Of course let's keep it civil and if possible, tell us WHY you prefer elements of one over the other. In the end I love both, for different reasons and ultimately this could be great feedback for the future games!!

@illinois1254 im sorry but payback's off road races were literally the worse part of the game
@@igotnokillPayback's character models also.
This is great, I really do miss the community feel while going about everything for sure
It’s funny how we have drag tires in the game, but no drag events
I’m assuming the former were carryovers from payback and somehow found no use in the game outside of custom lobby shenanigans
Also eclipse, g35
You spoke that out I would change first. Thank you for youre comment 😅.
NFS started off with stock sports/ supercars. The tuner scene wasn’t introduced until Underground. NFS going back to its roots is focusing on supercars, not tuners.
@@SPEEDFRAK ye but most peoiple started with the Underground games :)
Yes even when i have a 400+ car with 2 repairs i still shit my pants when i see a rhino
I remember being so hyped for Heat’s reveal back in August of 2019, Unbound is good and love the online, but Heat takes the cake, but love the cars in Unbound
Heat is 95% better than Unbound
@@redhunnid5142I’d say 85%
As much as I'm loving Unbound right now, I can't deny that Heat was just superior in it's prime. Just hoped they continued the game instead of abandoning it too early. Could have been the best nfs ever gameplay wise.
It is to me. There's never been a NFS game from the 2000s that you'd play consistently post story. Heat is the best. The freedom, the races, all of it. Never spent so much time post story in a NFS game. Never spent time in MW05. Barely in U2 and Carbon
@@sambeezy007 what do you think abt unbound tho?
@lust1875 on its worst day a 2/10. On its best day, a 6/10. Why?:
- You have to drive perfectly in order to win on S+ because if you don't "reverse rubberbanding" happens to where racers in front will just build a bigger lead no matter how fast you're trying to catch up
- Blue nitrous is useless (lacks power input)
- Class restrictions
- You can't use any car (69 charger for example) to compete against the best cars in the game (McLaren). That's arcade at its finest
- sense of speed isn't there until maybe around 130 mph
- Car Physics (drifting is fine though)

Unbound is so cringey dialougue. Plus the devs admitted adding cartoony effects is a mistake

I think they prepare everything for new NFS, maybe they will play with Most Wanted legacy again, as they tried and failed with Underground/Unbound

@@MerrillDragonAge I have unbound. How exactly am I judging NFS heat? What I said about EA dropping this game is common knowledge and I've seen too many people to count say this could have been the best one in the franchise if they kept it alive and updated it.
@@saddemon3913 I hope they don't go the most wanted route honestly, that will be a disaster
@@not_kjb welp, they already made that in 2012, nothing can stop then to dance on the bones of it once again 🤷♂️
But i also hope they will actually do something really universal, unique and stylish, i would like Unbound if there was at least some more music genres than rap, but besides that the game and even side about cars is pretty good
Personally I liked the direction that Heat was going in.
I wish I could combine the two aspects of the games that I like and create Heat 2.0
The more they lean into that car sense of community (almost like a Tokyo drift esque experience) the better.
Most Wanted only had 32 cars if I recall
Rivals was even worse
I loved MW12 it was my first NFS in a while at the time for the PS3 so I loved it
Both games have their perks, but when Unbound was announced and was noted to have seperate progression for Campaign and Multiplayer, NFS Heat instantly got my vote.
I didn't like that Miami summerish either, Unbound city feels just a loooooot better.
Used to make me let off the gas so often.
i liked heat, but one thing i didn't like was how empty the map looked and felt, you could tell they might've not have had as much time as they wanted to make the map look nice. unbound on the other hand, looks amazing and the city looks filled with small details and doesnt feel unfinished in a way
heat map is beter to drive through tho gives you beter feel crusing ill take heat all day
Would you say the same for MW05? It had tons of flaws the community just pathetically ignored
@@sambeezy007it is a "community" filled with actual manchildren, what were you expecting, common sense?

What killed unbound for me is it felt too similar to Heat. Sure the gameplay was different in ways but the menus, upgrade systems, and UI were still very similar if not the same. Ultimately, I enjoyed unbound more and loved having classes to get more use out of my lower grade cars. Only thing I wish they kept from unbound were the off road races.
Also, the drifting in heat was absolutely a pain in the ass for me and I couldn’t do any of the drift events, even with a drift setup. In unbound, the drift events were one of my favorites and it felt really natural for some cars.
I hope one day in the future they remaster heat and add more content onto it, I feel like if they kept updating heat it would be one of the best need for speeds out here
they aren't doing that anytime soon right now they're doing a year 2 roadmap for unbound atm
I feel like the gameplay in Unbound feels tighter to me.
They put a lot of effort into unbound and heat was left unfinished
I only picked up Heat about a year or so for about a fiver in the Steam sale and am still getting decent value out of it, when Unbound was announced I didn't see anything that was sufficiently different to warrant getting it. I liked how from most wanted to carbon to prostreet there were significant gameplay differences, Heat to Unbound felt almost like Unbound was just Heat v1.5 from the pre-launch stuff to me.
Pro Street was different enough, fun and underrated. But NFS Carbon was rushed, and besides some new gameplay elements, a NFS:MW re-skin.

I’d rather nfs payback gets updated I never really liked heat that much
@VloneKid25 I prefer Payback and Heat over Unbound. I don't care what they say. Ghost did a great job all around. And for the ratio of games they did better than Blackbox.
Yeah I hate the 30 fps in heat makes it unplayable for me
Splitting singleplayer and multiplayer was a massive L in unbound
After playing both I can safely say that heat was more enjoyable than unbound
NFS Heat is 95% better than Unbound it blows Unbound out of the water. They should’ve just built off NFS Heats map, tweaked the handling/physics and added more cars. Then called it NFS Heat 2 that story was so much better too 💯
Heat is cool, only if had better graphics, better car sounds, and better shifting sounds imo. Overall pretty cool game
Heat for me is 8.6/10 overall game.
Cars: Unbound
Customization: Unbound (heat has some cool features)
Handling: Unbound
Cops: Heat (Mixed after watching the video)
Day/Night: Heat
Events: Mixed (Bad drift in Unbound, heat doesn't need more than one car so the player sticks with the RSR)
Cityscape:Heat

Honestly I think the balancing with cops and enemy racers is better in NFS Heat and I don’t personally like the use of tiers in Unbound
I miss being able to play any race in any car making me feel like a god as a rush past the other racers and actually stay in first
You can call it a skill issue but I don’t like it when easy mode isn’t actually easy and stills give you a challenge in every race

The funniest thing about all this is that EA merged these two games and gave rise to NFS mobile, which wasn't even officially released, but from the demos we could already see that it's a fusion of heat and Unbound 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Now the question remains: what will happen to NFS on consoles?

I don't like unbound because the physics and handling. Weren't much better in heat but it felt a lot more manageable when trying to race. Also doesn't feel like EA really added that many new cars/kits to the game. Hoping for a bigger jump between unbound and the next game.
I just recently picked up NFS Unbound, and based on my experience, I like NFS Heat way more. I also really like the fact that the night races in NFS Heat have a smooth transition from the race to the cop chase. It reinforces the illegal aspect of the race

I liked heat better, but unbound was a solid game, heat just made me actually fear the police and the night time grinding didnt feel like a grind, it was actually fun, unbound felt like a grind to get new cars and jave enough money to upgrade them
Heat literally feels like it has 200 races
where as unbound feels like 20
Unbound is miles better than Heat because it has Linkups, car tier system, burst nitrous & Gauntlet playlists.
And multiplayer is also better in Unbound compared to Heat where people only use RSR.
metas are always awful no matter what game, yeah.
NFS Heat is better
Also heat deluxe edition is on the Microsoft store for £3.49 only on sale for 3 more days
Engine swaps were a thing in Heat.
@@martinpetkoski2547true, but in unbound each individual part actually does something significantly different to the performance. It makes a huge difference compared to heat. Only a masochist wants to grind for the same car twice

I'm replaying heat. It's way better!
More of these videos. The interactions between you two is comedy gold
Ngl I absolutely hated the handling in Heat because of how you were forced into "drifting" when cornering, was so glad to find an option in Unbound that turns it off
This. It turned me away from the game entirely. I managed to finish the campaign but nothing beyond. I don't get the praise for Heat
I also can't forget that undercover is a great game too
Has anyone else noticed that the game looks better lately? Graphical update? I'm just driving around town to park and gawk at the car and scenery

I Honestly Prefer Payback😅🎉
I don’t prefer payback but since it’s the first nfs game i actually enjoyed it has a special place in my heart
Payback story was peak
Payback is prob 2nd best modern NFS game behind heat and in front of unbound
That is my boy
Payback story was the best
NFS 2015 had a better way to separate drivers.
They should honestly make a "ranked" system again, with bigger rewards. Have a set few races where you can earn more based on how many events you complete.
A track creator would be nice too. Not anything dramatic. Just something to make unique races. I'm sure many of us would enjoy it
Shockingly enough Unbound's save slots may seem endless but it's still only 100 wraps and the game just doesn't tell you that
You would think that they would increase the limit considering the generation it released on but nope, still only 100 wraps and you're only able to follow 20 players
Yeah 100 is trash...if you buy every car you should be able to customize all the wraps...at least let me paint the damn thing

the character design is absolutely terrible in Heat, the cop chases in heat are better too. No one needs to boast about stories, because if you play NFS you're probably not playing for the story. I think both stories are garbo. If i had to choose, it would probably be unbound though.

unbound is just beautiful to play , the world and customization is solid. Heat has better races , Cops and Online. But HEAT just looks terrible imo
idk rly, for me a ton of small details from unboud starts to feel like upgardes i couldnt live without.
The card system for upgrading in Heat was a turn off for me. I prefer Unbound
I prefer unbound, because the city atmosphere is more lively, like, there are lots of cars parked in the Side of the road, and there are pedestrians.😊
(I played both and when I played heat, the car handling was good but the city atmosphere was boring)
I wished they continued the story instead leaving us high and dry in unbound. There's so many unanswered plot questions
Quick note: The exhaust tuning in Unbound is actually slightly limited compared to Heat. There’s not as many tone options from what I remember
