There is a saying that ‘numbers tell you everything’. When you look at the company’s financial statements, you can identify whether the company is really doing well or not? Investing is 20% quantitative (numbers) and 80% qualitative. Hence, qualitative factors also play a vital role. Some companies come up with optimistic projections but fail to achieve the promised numbers. Whereas there are other firms that sound conservative but deliver extraordinary growth consistently. Hence, even after doing complete due diligence, there are grey areas where you don’t have complete information. To avoid any pitfalls, you have to focus on two things - buy with a margin of safety and diversify. Because, investing in one company without knowing everything about it is definitely harmful. Unless you run a company, you won’t have 100% information about the company. Hence, we invest in companies with a lot of hope and trust. There is many a slip between the cup and the lip. Companies may not deliver as promised and you might get stuck in a specific stock as your capital gets locked somewhere without any reward.
iI am 55 years old with very little set aside for retirement at this point. I have always been curious about the stock market and have witnessed some people who played the game right and retired early because they used the stock market. When I ask them, most said that they invested very little to start with, but their portfolio grew. I do have a significant amount of capital that is required to start up but I have no idea what strategies and direction I need to approach to help me make decent returns.

Govt. companies give good dividends like BPCL, coal india, etc... But it is not mandatory for companies to give specific dividend amount year on year... It's completely upto the company to give dividend or not... And another important thing to know is most growing companies won't give much dividend and that's a good thing as they use whole profit for expanding their business...

I believe he said one of his banking videos that he trust both HDFC bank and kotak bank equally but prefers HDFC over Kotak owing to the fact that HDFC is bigger and has a better ecosystem to sell its diversified portfolio of products. As for HUL I think he uses HUL to trade because its a defensive stock (Safe), and the fact that HUL is overpriced.
@@skymaster9665 also one more point is that hdfc is a bank and kotak is a nbfc. Nbfc's are somewhat different to banks and the services provided by bank are more and better diversified. And hdfc also has better reach to the rural areas of india where kost of the growth will potentially happen in next decade🙌

Having large variety of stocks is very good. I myself used to keep 4-5 stocks which used to go negative value. Now I have 12+ stocks and now I am always in 10%+ profit even in market goes down.

Excellent information. One query : Why HUL was chosen for swing trading ? Why not for Long term investment same as you are doing with HDFC Bank ?

I prefer making quick money on mid/ small cap stocks and add the proceeds to bluechip.There is long term perpective for bluechip about 5 yrs to perhaps lifelong.Some stocks like OIL provides me with rich dividend,hence I am holding them.

Hi Akshat , any reason why you don’t treat HUL and Kotak as long term investment stocks the way you do HDFC Bank ?
I believe he said one of his banking videos that he trust both HDFC bank and kotak bank equally but prefers HDFC over Kotak owing to the fact that HDFC is bigger and has a better ecosystem to sell its diversified portfolio of products.
As for HUL I think he uses HUL to trade because its a defensive stock (Safe), and the fact that HUL is overpriced.
@@skymaster9665 also one more point is that hdfc is a bank and kotak is a nbfc. Nbfc's are somewhat different to banks and the services provided by bank are more and better diversified. And hdfc also has better reach to the rural areas of india where kost of the growth will potentially happen in next decade🙌
