- This is a very easy job. Just be patient took me about an hour or so. YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE YOUR DEALERSHIP ACTIVATE THEM WITH 'STARSCAN'

Thank you very much for this video. Like other people I used this as a guide to install mine. My local dodge dealer wanted to charge me $300+ to install. Claims it takes 3 hours for professionals to install. Yet once I knew how to do the first one I did the other within 20 minutes. Once again thank you for your video.

hanksranger by any chance did they ask you for a sales code or something like that? In order to activate them?
Not that I remember. I had to tell them to use starscan to activate them though then they figured it out
Just got done installing the kit on my 2013 SXT. Took me no time to get it done thanks to your video. I want to add that the 4 pins gave me a hard time on the right side, but if you pull out the inner pin (insert) first the rest come right out. It took me 5 minutes to do the left.

When they reprogrammed it did the auto “A” work at night or when you drove into a dark area? Or did they have to add other codes for the Auto to work?
I owe you thanks for this video. I relied on it to install fog lights on my 2014 SRT Core Challenger. Sadly, the core models do not come with fog lights. I must add that the fit is tight getting an arm into the front area and some of those plastic buttons put up a fight in getting off. It took me close to two hours, but in the end, I am happy. Took it to the dealer and had them activate the lights. B@stards charged me $120 for it.
They have the price as high as it is on that trim and they don't include fog lights as standard?
Yes. I have no idea why the fog lights are left out. I can live without the sunroof and leather seats, but, c'mon, the lights?
Consider yourself lucky. My local dealer in Tracy, CA charged me $165. It also took them longer to program/activate the new fogs than it did for me to install them. Oh, but they did check my tire pressure gratis, although I didn't ask for them too. LOL

No problem. You can also look into putting the rear lip spoiler on It. They look pretty good
I am thinking about doing this with my 2018 Dodge Challenger SXT. Will this same process work? This seems to be much simpler to do based off your video definitely. Are there any videos that show the process of connecting a pre-wired 2018 dodge Challenger SXT ?
Awesome tutorial! I spend almost 20 min watching other video that did not help at all, and the guy did not even mension that the car needs to be taken to the dealership for activation. Thansks for the time you take on making this video for people like me, But was the activation expensive? i have to know before i buy the foglights. And thanks for your help!

Yeah its all good, its just that my dodge dealer said they have never done it before and i have a buddy that works there and he couldnt find the enable or disable for the fog lights on his scan tool
Got ya. You might be better off calling another dealership that's close to you and seeing if they do it worth a shot

I know this was a while back, but you wouldn’t still per chance have the part number for the fog light wire harness would you? I want to make sure I order the correct part.

Would it be easier to just get the sxt model 2011-14 or getting the SE since it's cheaper then adding this on there. How much will it be with the parts and programming at the dealer, also is it a hassle to add it to it?

Did you ever get the fog lights to turn on?
Dealer has to program them no matter what, unless you end up connecting wires to low beams so they turn on whoever your low beams turn on
What i did was connect fog lights to the amber light on the sides. It was easy install. I was driving with the amber and fog light on. Never turn on the headlights or high beams.. Dont have charger no more. Motor took a shhheeet

Good Morning Hank's Garage , i have a 2018 Challenger SXT , with no fog lamps, as you know the 2015 and up have the projector fog lamps, will the clear lens like the ones you installed fit the 2015 and up? .....Also would the pre -wiring be the same as well ?........Thanks for the great video.
they should still be prewired for them... Im not sure the 1st gen ones will fit in the 2nd gen cars or not

+Safa Tutus You have to take it to the dealer and get them to activate it. It is done through a program called starscan and it is controlled through the cars computer

This is interesting. I'd like to add the automatic lights function, too. However, some reports of people that have added fog lights, seem to indicate the lights are just always on in the "A" position.
Ronald House My A setting on my 2014 SXT functioned with head lamps always on regardless of the time of day. I found out that I did need to add a new sun sensor, part number 68230114AA. After replacing my sensor with this one, my automatic lights now function correctly! On at night and off during the day.
@@ronaldhouse8484 I have a 2014 SXT as well, I'm planning to add the same feature, Automatic headlights and fog lights, I read on a different site about the Sensor need it to be replace as well, but they installed a sensor with part# 55111275AA , now I'm debating on whether to install the part # you provided or this one? 😬 Please advise if you happen to know really what the difference will be... @@elchacacervantes2587 according to mymoparparts SKU:68230114AB Replaces:55111275AA, 55111902AA, 55111902AB, 68230114AA, so any of these part numbers *should* be interchangeable.
Did the headlamps still work after replacing the interior module? I understand to get the fog lamps to work it has to be activated. But since the headlamps worked before, does it remain the same or does it change when the interior module is replaced and all of which will need to be activated because of the change? Just wondering if I should leave the original in until Dodge can get her in. Thanks!

why do you need to "reprogram" if the lights work anyways?.....and how much is it to get it done?
they dont really work, the switch does nothing to turn them off or on, the circuitry goes through the computer which has to be programmed to accept that there are new add ons on the car that were not put there from the factory, its a pain in the ass
Hank's Small Engine Repair and that kit u bought is way too much.....I found the switch for $64 brand new.....fog lights $28 brand new for the pair
I'm buying my fog lights this weekend for my 2010 dodge grand caravan , does that mean after I properly connect the fog lights they still won't work unless I get it programed?

Called a Dodge dealership, service guy said adding lights would fry a chip or something. How safe is this add on because i want fog lights on my 2014 challenger?
As long as you don't go with an aftermarket foglight set you should be fine. Use the mopar branded set. The cars are already wired for them.
Bla bla bla from dealership. All lights are connected trough the fuses. You only burn out your fuses if you use some power HID lights.

Ya it did it was a separate code I think.

after you installed the foglights and new switch and before the dealership reprogrammed it were headlights still useable until it was reprogrammed? I got a kit for my 2015 dodge GC

the headlights were usable but the fog lights won't turn on until the dealership reprograms the vehicle to tell it they are there.
Did the dealer happen to tell you, or give you a printout of, what codes they added? First dealer I called says they don't know how to do this. I'd like to add fog lights to my 2014 Challenger SXT, but it appears they won't work without a dealer that knows how to do it.
No they didn't. Try calling to other dealers in your area ones in bigger cities that may be your best bet

hanksranger Was your model the SXT or SXT Plus? I'm wondering if that's the difference in the codes showing up when the service people look this up since I think fog lights are listed by Dodge as an avaliable option for the plus.

@@hanksgarage_ I have 2019 Chrysler 300 touring with sport package appearance , and I have no fog lights, but I can see the plastic pieces can be removed. I hsvnt had time to look under the front bumper to see if i have it all prewired so I only have to buy the lights.
It should be. For sure pull those off to be sure. You will still need to get them activated at the dealer.
Can you just splice them on to your ember lights to bypass having to go to the dealership

on the 1999 chevybmalib ignition switch where did u buy it with the keys ..they tell me i need to go have it programed

The one I bought came with the keys you can't really tell a difference. You might try to look up how to program it I no longer have the car but there is a ton of info on google.

From what I understand the fog lights wont come on if the headlights are on which is poopoo but w/e.
