I remember I was so hyped for Nick All Star Brawl 1's and when I got it I tried so hard to like it, but it was just so flawed. So when it was announced that they'd make a heavily improved sequel, I was even more hyped. Can't wait to get it

Yeah, I found that strange as well. They should have just added to roster from the original instead of removing characters.
Besides needing to amp up and change some characters movesets which is why they couldn't keep everyone and the need for new wanted characters to attract new players, I'd say CatDog was probably also hard to balance.
CatDog was reportedly a nightmare to program.
It’s a lot better paced and is super fun, the solo content is really nice and the only issue I could find are a couple cut characters but like over all I prefer the roster anyways. It’s far more worth than the first game and I think this game can push to a far greater lvl that the first game ever did.

You know, I honestly would have loved to have like ridiculous deep cuts added to the roster like Danger Mouse or Count Duckula. Nobody remembers that they were "technically" NickToons! 😅
Well Danger Mouse did have a reboot of sort on Netflix and the entire series is a BBC thing I think.

Nega is short for "negative" and it's a term commonly used in anime. Though, the name might work better if Nega-Chin was cyan (opposite of crimson) as oppose to black.

I’m excited this game feels like such an improvement over the original version to me. I hope other people are liking it and it takes off some. It wasn’t even showing up under the popular titles on the switch digital store for me. I really think it should be.

It's so nice to see heavyweights actually kick ass and not be crippled with useless moves, awful frame data, and terrible properties like Smash.
people forget that Smash is played largely by casuals and if you make heavies not have all the flaws you mentioned, they would crush casual matches to the point of ruining the game for them. and casuals are way more profitable than us poverty game players so Smash still caters to them in some less than desirable ways.
@@BronzeAgePepper I always found that argument to make little sense.
First off, there are better ways to address balance disparities between the top and bottom than permanently crippling 30% of the cast, such as a deep tutorial mode like many modern fighting games, or introducing a higher skill curve to heavyweights (by simply giving them less one-hit-wonder moves and more combo tools in exchange. For example, giving Ganon a tipper mechanic won't help casual players much, while it would help more serious players a lot).
Second, there's no need to damn heavyweights to such an extent; Non-heavy characters have just as many, if not more "casual OP" moves or interactions, such as Zelda's deflect spam or Sonic's spin dash, without being crippled by their awful stats, speed, recovery, etc. Just improving one or two of the MANY factors dragging them down would help.
Third: Casual balance is already ruined. Items like Pokeballs, Assist Trophies, and Smash Balls ALREADY wildly swing games while minimizing skill, along with stage hazards, various alternate modes, etc etc.
Finally, I think other platform fighters in the genre like Rivals of Aether or NASB2 prove that heavyweights can still be generally good without destroying casual balance. Yes, characters who are less reliant on combos will be more intuitive to casual players...but that's true for non-heavyweights as well, such as zoners or grapplers.

@choctopus What version are you using in this video and how did you get it to natively know you were using a gamecube controller? I have it on Switch but I cant play the campaign cause it doesn't let me choose my profile.
I can't answer the GC controller question but I had the same issue, all you have to do is go into training mode or an offline match, choose your usual profile, leave and it should transfer to the campaign.
I like NASB2 but the camera is zoomed to far out in my opinion. Also there are ALOT OF BUGS. Like my custom controls never stays, it always goes back to default, load times are awful too.
You ever try fighting the cpu? They just get stuck on the edge all the time and will dangle there forever until you eventually decide to hit them. Then they just fall straight to their death without any attempt to save themselves.. Makes playing against cpu pointless and unenjoyable. Cant even play the campaign because they wont let me switch any buttons around. The default controls are so terribly awkward. I got the game an hour ago and im about to get a refund

I just came here from Sophist's latest video, so when I pulled up this video, I thought, "Why am I still hearing Sophist's voice?"
I wonder if Choc would enjoy playing Around the Clock at Bikini Bottom. I know he rarely does horror or fanmade stuff, but he seems to be a big Spongebob fan so who knows.
My idea for aang ever since I saw he was playable was like this:
A to waterbend
B to earthbend
Y to firebend
X to airbend
Water is balanced
Earth is slow but has max knockback
Fire has no knockback but max damage
Air has no damage but max speed
Each element has its own set of normals and something I just came up with:
Pressing adjacent buttons (XA, BY, etc) would do a combo move like a thunderstorm for XA or an eruption for BY
AND HERE COMES THE FINAT FIST PATRICK NO and then he just DESTROYED squidwards face 🤣😂😂

I will say it a million times. This game is AMAZING!!! They improved SO MUCH from the 1st game! This game was the reason I PARTILY retired from Smash Bros! You can only handle so many platform fighters!
How is it amazing? Ai gets stuck dangling on the edge of the map until you decide to hit them to which they fall straight to their death without any attempts to save themselves. You cant change the terribly awkward default controls for campaign. Theres no settings options whatsoever besides for volume and camera shake. Ive played for less than an hour and im getting a refund. Crazy cause i only bought the game after seeing so many comments like yours. Nobody wants to mention all the bugs this game has, crazy.
