apparently mod creators have been harassed by the community for not having updated their mods 2 days after the pack dropped... so, flop era... on top of it all
And if I remember correctly this is the SECOND time this has happened to a mod creator, doxing people because they’re a bunch of entitled losers. Smdh it’s so sad and pathetic
I'm hearing that people doxxed the creator of Wicked Whims. The mod, and the sfw version, has a romance and attraction system built in, so I imagine it's going to break the mod. It's going to take a long while to update, but these down bad simmers are really getting upset their sims can't have digital smex..
You are the only sims UA-camr I watch regularly because you are 1) hilarious 2) real af 3) you have the best content. You don’t gotta be a part of the “sims community” because I think you’ve made your own ☺️🩷 much love
After what I just saw with people harassing TURBO the creator of the wicked whims mod for taking too long to update the mod bc he’s on vacation was disgusting. Imagine being addicted to sim corn in your game that you cannot play sims without it. It’s disturbing. They threatened to stop paying him money over it if he doesn’t update soon.
seriously its disgusting. i can play my current save file of 4 generations normally without it and im not bothered. if you cant go a week seeing pixelated body parts, then thats a serious issue.
@Celestials615Plenty of folks use WW in moderation or use Wonderful Whims for the non-nudity feature set it offers. Some Sims 4 simmers are just entitled brats who think a solo coder working alone needs to do so on their schedule.
@@jaybee4288hey man, I’m pretty sure they patched out incest awhile ago with high school years (which also removed teens from doing the devil’s crabwise contortion cavort). Lmk if I’m wrong though, I haven’t played this garbage game in a hot minute.
My heart dropped when I read the title of this video and I was hoping and praying throughout that you hadn't made up your mind on leaving. I'm gutted but fully understand how negative some people can be, especially in relation to defending The Sims 4. I'm glad you're doing what is right for you though and I can't wait to see where the channel goes next!
Oh shit, it’s Mr PlaystheSims 😂 (Part of me was thinking, “oh god, I hope Malcolm wasn’t beefing with Ryan…” lol) I can 100% understand Malcolm’s decision to leave. Some creators and fans/consumers are way too lost in a literal game (and honestly, kissing EAs ass), and maybe a case of sunk cost fallacy with predominantly Sims 4 players. I stay away from Sims 4 content, with the exception of CallMeKevin, and mostly play 2 (sometimes 3). Granted I’ve got *most* of the Sims 4 stuff released and I don’t play it now; I just hate EA and myself for my poor financial decisions 😂 I don’t think I’ve ever actually used this unironically, but the Sims community needs to touch grass. Like calm down, it’s just a video game 😂 No need for such negative/toxic attitudes. I’d be interested to see Malcolm bring some sass to other games, if he so decides. And if you ever feel the need to branch out on your channel I think it’d go down a treat, maybe Mass Effect (or an hour and a half stream of your desktop haha). Didn’t realise my comment turned into a bloody novel (thanks autism) lol.
With communities like The Sims I've learned that the best thing you can do is to just play the game and not interact with the larger playerbase. I might pop in now and then to check things out but I don't really interact unless I have something to say. it's genuinely way more enjoyable to just do your own thing and play how you want to play without worrying what others may think.
Same bec. how do they justify shilling for EA millionnaires while harassing and doxxing modders and cc creators, who make the game playable/enjoyable for free??? 🙃
I made a comment on Twitter regarding Love Struck and I got harrassed by some Simmer people. Not playful banter but outright harassment. They went onto my feed, started tagging shit, and then started making fun my art that I posted. Like viciously making fun, calling my work trash, or "ugly" ... Like it's madness, these people are CRAZY. Full witch hunt as you put it... I had at one point 9 different people I assume were all friends ripping me to shreds because I said Love Struck was Wedding Stories content ripped out into it's own pack.
@@NotMalcolm Its such a shitty shame because I love the Sims. But some members of the sims world are evil grotty little meanies and if I had it my way, I would name and shame every single one of them if I had a platform.
There is a quote I heard once that I use as a mantra: *IF I LOG OFF TWITTER / REDDIT, WILL THIS ISSUE STILL EXIST?* Like, is this community toxic at all, or are you just stumbling on chronically online people who are worryingly emotionally dependent of a video game?
See, my question is “why are we attacking each other when EA is *right there*.” The source of everyone’s grief is the same. Sometimes also a source of joy, but everything that is actually wrong with the game is on EA. Props to any and everyone keeping it honest. Edited to add that people get defensive because they spent money on it, and they have to justify those purchases to themselves. They don’t always think clearly about it. They feel like *they* are being judged because they’ve *invested* in it. Also also, do what’s right for you. Move on to something. Go back to something. MAKE UP SOMETHING. ❤❤❤
@@jaybee4288y'all not stupid for liking the game. Just don't take any criticism of ea as a personal attack. I don't even think the comment was talking about the simmer enjoying the game. We hate ea, it's not personal
Ive spent loads on this game, it is not anyone else’s fault but mine, and having said that. Modders and cc creators are not responsible for making content. They are doing this out of their own pure enjoyment and sharing it with people.
@@arinarryn nailed it. I’ve been playing Sims since the first game and I am tired of EA and their shenanigans and their blatant disrespect. Because that’s what it is. Wedding Stories launched broken and has never been fixed. (I think the base game wedding has VERY RECENTLY been made available no matter what expansions you own, so not a fix but at least an off-hand solution.) When Sims 2 Bon Voyage was shipped and sold broken, they had a whole entire patch available on the official site or the Exchange the next day. They knew it was broken, sold it anyway, and were ready to address it. Now we’re to the point they don’t care at all. “Take your broken game and like it” is a terrible look. And we let them do. 😬🙁
@@lovemeh7899 custom content creators are what makes the Sims great. I wish I believed that EA realized that, but I worry they just see that community as a cheap labor resource at this point. 😢
@arinarryn, I think the commentor you replied to understood that sentiment. I wouldn't take any criticism of the game as a personal attack that would be ridiculous and I don't think the comment you replied to means that but there are some out there that are overwhelmingly negative about the game to the point where they should probably go and play something else. They also hate on people who praise this game when it's actually warranted. I probably didn't explain that well, but I agree with the comment you replied to. No one says you can't criticise something that you spend your money on.
Tbh the Sims community was chill AF until a crop of new, chronically online users showed up since Sims 4 appeared. Like I been playing The Sims since Sims 1 and it legit feels like the group got way intense in the last 5 years or so These folks need to log off and go for a walk. And they identify WAY too much with a fucking game. Not liking someone's favorite game/sports team/singer/movie is not a personal attack. Again, log off.
Omg yes this is so true!! Unfortunately, my introduction to the sims was through Sims 4, so I never really got to experience the community when it was chill. Recently, however, I’ve been really enjoying channels catered to older sims games. The energy feels way more authentic (??), and the comment sections aren’t filled with people virtually curbstomping each other lmao.
Can also confirm, playing since Sims 1. Had a right laugh about virtual curbstomping but sadly true.. I think in general chronically online people are becoming a thing, are mentally very unhealthy and it shows / bleeds into their every interaction in the real world too
You're right. I've been playing since 2000. I playtested mods for creators. I fixed CC during the Sims 1 by helping figure out what folders to put what in. During Sims 1-3, the community always expected that something might break and that certain things would need to be updated. We waited or we decided to go CC/modless. The Sims 4 has the most entitled, ragey, nasty community I have ever seen. Tell them the devs need time to fix bugs? You must be an EA bootlicker whale. Suggest mod makers have lives that come before content? How dare you, they should have known the community needs this now. Someone was threatening to hurt themselves over MCCC not being updated the day Lovestruck dropped. That's not even touching the absolute dumpster fire of screaming about infants for months until they got them and calling every pack garbage because of one or two bugs. My gosh, they would have never survived the Sims 2 era. This is why I stick to my own corner and don't involve myself much. I love my buggy, glitchy little dollhouse. I support anyone's choice to leave the Sims 4 community behind, it's not a fun place, it's lost the spirit of fun we had long ago.
Yep. The community wasn't like that at least before Sims 4 arrived. Not that everyone was agreeing on everything in the past, we somehow get to discuss difference of opinion in the civilized manner, and we move on to our lives. Besides, personal opinions to the game is NEVER considered as an individual attack, which I never understand how would someone ended up with that conclusion.
Soo I wonder how much of a total paradigm shift with TS4 has to do with it being aimed at younger demographics? Before you think 12 year olds can't be nasty, let me tell you.. When I first got on Xbox Live I had to stop playing online games for a while because the horrific, insanely disgusting things coming out of those young boys mouths just about burned my ears off (and I personally curse like a sailor!) It blew my mind so I was kinda traumatized by that experience. Young kids/teens don't have the prefrontal cortex development to know what they're saying, have empathy, or control their temper tantrums
Being trans and neurodivergent AND not straight, I legit can’t think of a time you’ve shown hatred towards us. Whatever game or interest brings you joy, do it! Many of us including myself love not just your sims but your humour and opinions! So where ever you wanna take your channel, heaps of us will be down for it!
Same, same, same! He doesn't come off hateful towards us. I love the sass of the Moretti Legacy, and he's been a huge inspiration toward me making my own Sims 3 videos. Surely that silly sass will carry over into whatever he does 💚
Im 2 out of 3 of those(queer & trans but just different type of mental health disorders im just clarifying bc i think a lot of people think neurodivergent means all of the major mental health-affecting disorders people can experience?? im bipolar also idk if thats classified as neurodivergent but anyways)) ,, and i absolutely agree like reaching to call him transphobic is just embarrassing come on like direct that energy to actual transphobic people that are definitely plentiful. + Malcolm is the only way i even knew about Inzoi not having gay romance options (its early release but still out for people to advertise so idc its not acceptable) & speaking out about it
You are HANDS DOWN my fav simmer on YT. I would hate to see you reduce your content or shift it. HOWEVER COMMA I get it. I want you to be happy and healthy. I do hope you can still give some sims 3 content bc you are truly a light here. You became my parasocial bestie in my head and now I'm all sad at work and stuff 😭😭😭
Bro fuck the Sims community, Whatever type of content you choose to do the real ones will watch. I appreciate you shouting out the smaller channels like myself and I definitely gotta pay it forward. Your an inspiration to us so make sure you wear this👑💯
@@NotMalcolm I know bro time flies and thank you. I'll never forget the day you did 1v30,000 against those "sim influencers" on Twitter fucking iconic😂💯
Any "community" that would shill itself out to a billion dollar company charging well over $1,000 for a buggy, "complete" game is not worth being a part of. Don't even need to go into how hostile and hypocritical these people are. How they will viciously attack people who make free content for them for not updating said free content seconds after a new patch drops. How they will preach inclusivity, but only if you fit into a box for them to digest. You do well for yourself, staying away from these people. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
I had to unfollow most original EA/ Sims Game Changers. It’s absurd how they bend their backs backwards to defend EA and their ‘BS’ business practices. Like we have so many other *real* issues in the world that we should advocate for and fight for instead of a $1000+ simulation game.
I find most of them are fine and influencers are only as strong as we allow them to be. Once you have that understanding, it doesnt matter wtf people post online
I primarly play sims 2/3 and have nothing but great encounters with other players...I do notice a lot of drama in TS4 community, it's honestly strange.
I have an answer for this, it's because this is the youngest target demographic of any Sims game ever. So we're basically dealing with a bunch of 12 yr olds now..
@@Squellbelli see the sims arguements between players my own age (late 20s) 😭 i stopped interacting with the twitter community i have a whole new account now. As a sims player since the beginning i feel like we should call out the exploitative practices of EA and people will be like “dont buy it then” like… im not. But its the principle of it. I stopped buying after werewolves and stopped playing when shopping cart came
Sims 4 is the latest, active game in the series. There are going to be more of them here complaining about the game, instead of trying Sims 1, 2, or 3. They're the same ones who would complain that the Atari 2600 didn't age well. I mean, get real. So, I don't think it's strange. When the next game comes out, they'll jump ship and complain about that one. At least the Sims 4 community will get better, and it'll be the end of forced updates.
@@rosariojailene yeah I was thinking making it free to play had something to do with it also. People can hop on board for the cost of an internet service per month, expect to pay nothing for great modding content, but somehow are very eager to defend EA even though the vanilla base game gets worse and worse. I would love to see all these people move on to different game and the true Sims fans that stick around I doubt we will see were the ones who were toxic all along..
as someone who spent well over $200 on the sims 4 over the years I deeply regret it none of these packs were worth the money I genuinely want my money back ;-; . but I absolutely loved ur sims 3 content I feel like the sims 3 gets no attention anymore so its gonna suck if you go but I'd also get sick of playing this game with such a toxic community breathing down your neck.
There are actually some really cool Sims 3 content creators. Harder to find in all the Sims 4 content but they exist. I find Sims 4 makes the most money so for folks who aren't doing it as a hobby, even if they'd rather be playing Sims 2 or 3, 4 gets them more traction. So I prefer people who make Sims videos for fun even if there content comes out less frequently. As at least they tend to actually adore whatever Sims game they are playing (even if it's 4).
CallMeKevin😂 Sariafan makes Sims1 content. I want to start posting Sims 1, 2 & 3 content but I'm not sure how to do it or what people would like to see.
As a fellow sims 3 to sims 4 player, I am so sorry you are treated so poorly from this community. I usually don't comment much but I been watching your channel since the very 1st gen of your legcey challenge, I really love your humor and free-sprited you are and I get also so exticed whenever you upload a new video. I really hate to see you go but I truly understand how fuck up this community is that you need to departed. I hope you are taking care of yourself doing whatever is best. I will always be here with welcome arms whenever you want to come back. 💖
Every fanbase has a toxic subsection. The Sims isn't unique in that regard. But your subscribers are also a part of the community and we are bloody fantastic (especially me). If you need to take a step back, do it; however, you really don't strike me as someone who would allow themselves to be pushed out of a community by a bunch of online bullies. Take a deep breath, take names and keep it moving. Your audience appreciates your honesty, your authenticity and your audacity: compromising any of these qualities really should be non-negotiable. Looking forward to your next video and get well soon 💚 p.s. Please don't make me have to write a comment this long again, ok?! 😂
I will literally never understand what drives some people to be so rude. Your sims 3 videos have inspired me so much, but I’m looking forward to seeing whatever you create next!💖
i've always enjoyed your videos and commentary, and i was so flattered and excited to get a shoutout from you! I'm sorry for the over the top negative reaction you have received from so many sims ppl. As a neurodivergent person, I personally always find people saying insulting the sims is offensive bc it's someone's special interest or whatever to be infantilizing and frankly pathetic. I really hope whatever decision you make that you keep having fun with whatever kind of content you create
I’m a CurseForge mod dev and I’m also done. The level of disrespect on display from the community is far too much. I’d rather go make mods for another game with a community that gives a fuck.
Will be sad to not see Sims content from you anymore but I also FULLY support your decision to distance yourself from the Simps 4 stans. And stan is the right word for them cause their behavior is identical to insane, rapid pop star stans. They attach their whole damn personality to the thing they’re obsessed with and it’s insufferable. Anyway, forget them. Whatever content you decide to make, I’ll stick around for cause your sense of humor is fantastic. Wishing you all the best.
Well, you said the magic word: twitter. Honestly I've never interacted with the sims community there and I'm sure I'm happier for it. You can create whatever content you want, of course, but I'd be a little sad to not see updates on the wild dramatic storylines that you manage to get into. That said, I enjoy your channel for your wit and sense of humor and that would be there no matter what content you make, so you do you and I'll still be here.
Please don't leave UA-cam. You don't have to play The Sims, or any game you don't want to, but please don't stop making content. You are very genuine and creative, you have a fantastic charisma, and your communication skills are incredible. I believe many here feel the same way as I do. Thank you for the great content and all the fun you provide with that WONDERFUL humor. And just as a reminder, please don't leave UA-cam (pretty please)
I think it's more likely that most of them are in middle school. I don't think there are that many adults in the community acting like this. Someone else pointed out that the toxicity ramped up after The Sims 4 was released and The Sims 4 just so happens to be the most child-friendly, baby proof game in the series.
Aw this is such a bummer. My 11 year old son and I watched your legacy series together and it was always so fun. Your charisma, your editing skills, your humor though --- thats what set you apart from other sims youtubers. You gotta do whats best for you whether thats moving on to different games, different style videos or just off youtube completely. Just know you had fans of all ages who really looked forward to your silly videos, and trust me, its hard to find things that preteen boys and their very uncool moms agree is silly and fun. Thank you for sticking around as long as you have.
I think we need more Sims Creators that go against the grain. We need more people like you and satch on sims, people who don't settle for nonsense, people that openly criticise the game and its community. It would be a real shame if you ended up becoming silenced by these smooth brained *****. Honestly, this video has actually inspired me to make my own videos about this sort of stuff.
Idk who u are, or what u did, this video got recommended to me. If you’re a good person tho, I’ve advice. Do NOT let these people get to you, if you give others the power to decide through words how YOU feel, you’re already done, they are your masters. I’m not saying to not listen to constructive criticism, or blindly believing you’re right, but if you know these people want to hurt you, want to get to you, take that power away from them, only u can do it. (Tho that’s better than only others being able to do so.) Who gives a shit what these people think?
I think it’s insane after the year the gaming industry has had (mass layoffs and livelihoods ruined), people are choosing to defend and fight for EA of all companies. A company that doesn’t even respect their player base and has zero passion or care behind their games now.
That makes me so ☹ to hear people treat you like this. Like WHY?! We all love the sims and should be supporting one another. People nowadays can’t stand any opinion unlike their own. Stay strong and keep on, your channel is gold!!
The Sims 4 community mob mentality is just… yikes🤧 imagine defending a multibillion $ corp like EA over this hot steaming pile of (bare-bone) garbage Anywayz you’re as real as ever stay slaying king😌💅🏻
Honestly I don’t even think it’s the “sims community” as a whole it’s just “the sims 4 community” who are unhinged. I feel like sims 3 & sims 2 community are pretty chill since we’re so small.
I absolutely agree with you! It's so sad that people always use the term "sims community". Sims 1-3 communities are so chill, calm, and kind. I never see a problem there. People need to start use the term "sims 4 community" because it's the only toxic and brain dead community.
@@hellopixxie The "Sims Community" is pretty much just the Sims 4. The majority of the time when someone is talking about The Sims or its community they really mean Sims 4 since for some people that _is_ The Sims. I really wish more people would make that distinction when talking about the franchise because as you said the rest of the game's communities are not this unhinged.
At this point every online community is like this. These social media companies like Twitter, Facebook, IG need to be held more responsible for their algorithms that feed people rage bait content aiming to get them to spend more time in the app. While it does that it also creates very real and very harmful mentalities in its Million++ users that often become so far engrossed in their SM’s view of the world that it’s completely removed from the real one. Each of these communities are turning into their own little cults. A new algorithm that values higher-value content over ranting brain rot bait is not a attack on free speech it’s a upholding of healthy communities and mental development / wellbeing. The only thing it might attack is their CEOs already overflowing wallet by a few pennies. What IS an attack on free speech is the current model of censorship that picks out important words and topics and completely blacklists them. That is what’s an attack on free speech.
While I'd miss your sims content, I totally understand wanting to move away from it. Lots of people do sims 3 content- but your content keeps people because of your humor and creativity. Those are skills you could bring to any game. I'm staying subscribed, I hope you keep making content. ❤
Honestly, ever since the OshinSims vs. MissJollySims “drama” happened… I’ve been giving the Sims Community the side eye and I don’t have Twitter (X). 👀
he's gotta do him bb this space has become so toxic for him 😞 some of these folks online would delight in making him miserable all because he dared criticize the greedy ass game they've formed their entire identities around. we could've demanded so much better as a community but folks had to go and bend the knee 🤷🏿♀️ wishing him the best and pirating the game are the best things you can do right now lollll
I miss the sims community pre sims 4. I feel like sims 4 brought in an influx of new and younger players. They don’t know how to behave, especially when it comes to cc creators. The amount of cc creators that have been harassed over the last few days….it makes me sad. I think the sims 4 really damaged the way this community used to be…
honestly I'm so glad you didn't leave tho because someone's gotta be honest about how messy this game + the people surrounding it are, it's just too entertaining not to
I used to play TS3 on UA-cam during its release, and I was also a longtime mod for AndrewArcade on Twitch. I will say that The Sims community was still somewhat feral back then, but in a much more dorky and enthusiastic way. I’d say the worst we ever dealt with was backseat gamers who would beg you to do certain things in your game - but again, it was always coming from a place of enthusiasm. This was back when Let’s Plays were the thing to do, and honestly another huge hurdle you’d find was becoming creatively burnt out coming up with series ideas for a game that’s essentially plotless. The game is a sandbox - it was up to you to come up with something interesting to watch. TS3 wasn’t perfect by any standards, but nobody was pretending that it was. There were glitches aplenty but you could tell that the Sim Gurus genuinely had their hearts in it. Something shifted when TS4 dropped. Like, it was kind of surreal. It became abundantly clear upon TS4’s release that corners were cut and (ironically) a lot of life was sucked out of it. This left fans with two options: admit you weren’t having fun and grapple with losing interest in your favorite game, or pretend everything is fine and become a glazer for EA and defend a game that has literally become nothing but a low-effort money grab with no end in sight. I’m still a daily Sims 3 player. I have no hope for TS5, or for the active players of the latest releases who will continue to buy everything they sell without critically assessing what they’re consuming. This used to be such a fun community, and I’m sorry that they ruined the fun for you. Baharmy katar… glarch 🫡
I don’t blame you I feel the same way Specially, about the sims 4 community I really miss the good old days when we used to be happy with the games but now it’s just Toxic I just can’t do it anymore and with all the glitches and money that’s been spent on this game it comes to a point when you need to stop and think does it bring me joy at the moment no I don’t think it will ever anymore as modders are leaving the community but I still will be playing the og games as they bring me joy
The Low sodium subreddit is filled with hypocrites. No negativity but filled with people complaining about other people OPINIONS. Used to be the more gameplay focused subreddit but now it’s all EA shills whining about someone not liking the same thing as them.
I am an older lady who's played The Sims since day one. I've always been a 'lone ranger' but due to spine issues I was away from the game for 5 years, and when I came back I felt the need to update myself as I had missed out on so much, and also didn't want to buy expansion packs without watching reviews so I started doing so and also joined the Sims Forums - and omg; I did a post about things being bugged and I got attacked - I was actually shocked at the viciousness and delusional mindset of these fanbois.
I will ride and die for NotMalcolm 😤 But seriously, as someone who still plays Sims 4, I so deeply appreciate your unique, honest, transparent, and often hilarious, point of view. You never fail to tell me about myself … and make me laugh while doing so. You’re an inspiration to me creatively, both within and outside of this game. I’m truly sorry this is happening. I selfishly hope it continues serving you to make content here on YT. My days are truly improved by your videos! 💖
That said, I’m listening to the ending and you should absolute create and be whatever you need and want to be. As a follower, I’m here for YOUR content, your viewpoint … regardless of the game or other narrative vehicle you choose. 💅🏼
Awwww Malcolm, I love your videos but protect your peace. There are some very childish simmers out there. I love the entire Sims series and I have criticisms of every game and Sims 2 remains a favorite while Sims 4 remains the little engine that could (like they almost do something cool but always ruin it with half baked execution at the end). I LOVE your videos even when I'm like "I'm halfway with you, but no." For something like a video game series it is so okay to agree to disagree and STILL enjoy each other as members of the same little video game niche. I do think there are just as toxic fan communities as the Sims, but the Sims can be pretty bad in not knowing how to have a reasonable debate. Not gonna lie, huge Ron Humble critic I think he got too much trust based on Sims 3 when it came to LBY, but I would never drop to throwing personal insults at the man. I am also a huge critic of InZoi as they are still saying "we haven't decided on our monetization model". Aren't you suppose to release THIS YEAR. I think they just wanna hypnotize everyone with graphics while they slip some grimy business model through the back door. And I'm also a huge critic of EAs pricing model for what they currently call an "expansion" pack. I can love the Sims and be critical of it and listen to different opinions from mine. And that seems to be a rare thing these days.
I remember there was drama because a sims creator said she wasn't one of those alpha cc girlie's and people said she was racist and stereotyping alpha cc like please go outside
This is why i just stick to the sims 2 community. I feel like theyre so helpful and all on the same page about hating ea. Then again im not big in the community, but i do love all the amazing creators who are keeping the game alive with new mods ect
The sims 4 community is horrible. All the original sim fans left ages ago. It’s incredible to see that the new sims fans are just as tacky and worthless as the game they worship. I’ll stick with the Sims 3 and 2 thanks. Never coming back. Never buying the Sims 5
Ironically I just discovered your channel today, but I try to make it a habit to follow and regularly watch honest and down to earth reviews and critiques of the genre I love so much. I've watched maybe 3 of your videos so far but you're definitely going to be one of my top 3 life sim channels if you continue to make videos on them, thank you for what you do!
Tbh I truly get ick with people claiming themselves "i Am a NeUroDivErgEnT" like that's some achievement of life or something, their behaviour is astrociously dumb
I feel like I’d be in your shoes if ever I made a Sims channel. We need more life sim games because I think the fact that it’s just one franchise makes everyone feel more of a need to defend EA’s decisions.
Actually you don't have to be scared. Just open your Sims channel if you want. This is only the problem for the sims 4 community. Not The Sims 1-3 communities. I am sad too because people always use the term "the sims community" until the good, chilling communities from The Sims 1-3 get the impact too. Try to ignore and don't care about the sims 4 community. Or if you want, don't care at all about the community. You make a channel because you enjoy the game, you want to make arts (by making a video). By time, the right people will come to you and support you. Your community will grow slowly but healthy. Positive. Good luck if you make a Sims channel in the future! Definitely I will check it out ❤
I feel the same! I have been around for a long time and have had little bursts of wanting to take youtube and my tumblr more seriously. I have been part of some collaborations and tried to make friends, but have always been denied. This community is EXTREMELY dramatic and they will hate on anyone with a differing opinion in the slightest. If you don't fit in one of their boxes or are just someone they are envious of, they do not want anything to do with you and will find anything about you to try and weaponize. I will keep playing my game but, it is hard to continue to have love for this community as I get older.
I know people on Twitter respect her, but I was attacked and blocked after they threw whatever they wanted at me....by The HenfordHen and several other people on Twitter (including a few modders) when Growing Together came out all for just saying that the bug they had with the missing tooth where they had to remove that feature was unacceptable. It made me lose a lot of respect for some of these people. Some beautiful modders came to my defense which I will forever be grateful for. I lost all respect for TheHenfordHen......they showed their hypocrisy too because they complain about the sims tons, but when it was someone else complaining they lost their ish. Im in shock that several prominent sims creators still promote their tweets, such as Pixelade whom I actually like (I just think he doesnt know the drama that went down and how Henford was treating people).
Way too many summers are extremely entitled and have superiority complexes istg, they love to belittle people for any valid criticisms regarding sims 4. It’s a shame that the game is going in the direction it’s going rn because people want you to be happy with the bare minimum or less from EA.
4:58 that’s what I call a “cult behaviour” This community is so toxic and I blame the so called “veteran” sim content creators for gaslighting the fandom into believing that the game is worth the pennies …
honestly the best thing I did was stop interacting with sims content and the sims community as much as I used to. it's sad because this game has been a part of my life for 11 years, it's one of my longest special interests. the sims community back when I first joined was so welcoming and kind. it's sad to see what it's become.
I've said this on tumblr and I'll say it here: TS4's base game going free unleashed a lot of entitled kids into the community, and all their incessant complaining about features present/not present in the game really sucks the fun out being a part of said community.
you could make paint crying entertaining ngl, i'm glad you're freeing yourself from that community! i used to play sims 4 for CAS, but after disappointments and countless bugs, i stuck to my trustie sims 2.
The only ones I argue with about sims is my own sims, when they RUN STRAIGHT TO THE FIRE when I'm trying to keep them away from it, lmao, I'm only in a couple of sims community and I've left SO MANY because of the toxicity and intensity those people exrpress, it's beyond me.
I agree with you about how toxic and sensitive the sims community is. Especially on Twitter. That’s why I left Twitter and I unscribed to a few channels because of it. Sending love and support for whatever you do.
Sims 4 "community" is a cesspool of chronically online people that demand and expect things to be given to them. Honestly, it's best to move on to whatever the hell you want.
Everything on point! The Sims Community is a weird bunch, a few of them are cool, but most of them are so selfish, think they are sooo unique and always try so hard to be better than anyone else. Anyone who has a different opinion is directly "toxic" - "narcistic" etc. I make a great bow around most content creators.. I'll stick with my stuff that I like to do and don't care for all this drama. PS: That was the first video I saw from you. Subscribed :)
the way this modern sims community handles shit reminds me why EA manages to continue shilling out content that's broken but "looks nice": they're shallow as hell!! i love your content, i'd watch no matter what the content was, you always make me laugh. :))
I hate the community. They think like ea, maxis care about their representation. No, the only thing they do is capitalism. Community doesn’t understand this. They pay for anything bare minimum. Wedding stories for instance. If they had a straight couple, lots of people wouldn’t even buy. They act like they gave this feature new :d Yes, inclusivity is good, but the sims just uses it. Fix the bugs first, and then add partner feature. Acting inclusive is just a capitalistic strategy. You have to pay for a curly hair for instance or your cultural representation. Selvadora pack was the biggest example of this situation. They remove wife/husband for being triggering and not inclusive, on the other hand they are afraid of making the carnival kit’s name pride pack. (There was nothing about carnival in that pack. It was a pride parade pack definitely and that name would be dangerous for their company in other countries.) What is the next uptade? “We removed mother and father and instead we replaced it with parent 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻”
to add more for wife and husband they coud just add partner, without replacing it. also packs like selvadorada are done with so little effort that it is obvious that they dont care about the diversity and representation.
honestly as a trans guy i wish they made it so that the wife/husband/spouse thing was able to be edited just like the pronouns :/ i know people who aren't cis nor trans and some of them like using wife, husband, spouse, or even simply partner. being referred to as "spouse" reminds me of when i worked in retail and customers were too scared to assign a gender to me so they just reduced me down to "they" or "it", i feel like a lot of the drama about that could've been avoided if it was an editable thing in game and would've pleased both sides and honestly would've been even more inclusive but of course they do the bare minimum because they don't actually care, it just brings in the money
It's so sad when a vocal minority poisons the community experience for the majority. But this isn't a Sims community problem, it's a gaming community problem. Gamers have become to entitled and hostile that even the slightest deviation from their personal experience and vision of their favorite games sends them spiraling into this hateful, dangerous, and toxic mindset. Hell Anita Sarkeesian was doxxed, threatened, and stalked both on the internet and in real life because she dared to criticize sexism in video games all the way back in 2013! We need to push back at this toxic minority anytime they raise their unhinged heads but if we give up on EVERY game with a toxic corner of the fandom then we'll never get to play ANY game, ever again. If you're genuinely not having fun playing the Sims anymore that's perfectly understandable and I wish you luck on the next journey of your channel but if you're leaving solely because of that toxic minority you aren't going to be able to enjoy ANY game with a large fanbase.
Anyone who cares about the future of a game series, will speak up when there are problems. The people who keep kissing EA's rear no matter what they do, are enabling the series to be destroyed over time.
Personally I love your channel. It’s really helped me with my mental health and well being. That being said you have to do what is best for you. 100%. Take care of yourself Not Malcom. All the best. If you do decide to leave however, will we still get to watch the videos you have posted so far?
You are great! We live in a society which benefits from polarising people and some (most) just seem to lap it up. Common sense? Critical analysis? Long gone
I really like your channel I had to start unsubscribing to a lot of people due to their blind obsession for the game and the hate towards other on twitter! So it’s okay not to be apart of the “community”, I wouldn’t want to be either of they act like that most of the time
Thank you so much for saying all this! For a change! I'm tried to create only on YT because social media is so toxic. You can't please anyone, no matter how hard you try. And spreading all that hate... I can't... I'm so grateful for every loving and kind person on my channel because, generally, people are so awful 😭😭😭💔
When my husband and I discuss "violent" games, I always point out how simmers just k i ll their sims out of the blue, those are the ones to watch out, not the ones who play call of duty or anything of that sort, lmao, YES, simmers, we are so toxic, it's awful.
Forget the sims community, I've been binge watching your videos for a while, and now you're basically narrating my life (in my head). I feel epic, thanks 😅
While I did start watching your channel for the Sims 3 content, your personality has made me stay and I look forward to whatever you decide to do next!
apparently mod creators have been harassed by the community for not having updated their mods 2 days after the pack dropped... so, flop era... on top of it all
Such bs. I ❤ my mods. I will wait.... they just got the update too. 😅
This is true for many large games with large modding scenes sadly.
Flop era fr … makes me so sad. I’ve been playing since the Sims 1 days, and it’s all just so insane the scale of the modern game / community.
You are the only sims UA-camr I watch regularly because you are 1) hilarious 2) real af 3) you have the best content.
You don’t gotta be a part of the “sims community” because I think you’ve made your own ☺️🩷 much love
this is really kind, thank you!

Agreed, we think you’re great 👍🏾
Yea same. I only watch not Malcom. Missing more of the story!!
seconded! no one makes sims content as good as notmalcolm
That’s diabolical!!! What happened to just enjoying gaming?! Sorry my millennial rant is over. Excuse me.
❤agreed. I ❤ that mod. And I will gladly wait! 😅
seriously its disgusting. i can play my current save file of 4 generations normally without it and im not bothered. if you cant go a week seeing pixelated body parts, then thats a serious issue.
@Celestials615Plenty of folks use WW in moderation or use Wonderful Whims for the non-nudity feature set it offers. Some Sims 4 simmers are just entitled brats who think a solo coder working alone needs to do so on their schedule.
There's no reasoning with pornbroken losers
For the first point the best most recent example is Turbodriver being doxxed because he couldn't update his/her mods !! Like wth ?!
😂wow. Such bs.... 😅

Oh shit, it’s Mr PlaystheSims 😂
(Part of me was thinking, “oh god, I hope Malcolm wasn’t beefing with Ryan…” lol)
I can 100% understand Malcolm’s decision to leave.
Granted I’ve got *most* of the Sims 4 stuff released and I don’t play it now; I just hate EA and myself for my poor financial decisions 😂
I don’t think I’ve ever actually used this unironically, but the Sims community needs to touch grass.
Didn’t realise my comment turned into a bloody novel (thanks autism) lol.
thanks man you’re the best! also keep up the awesome work yourself i’m honestly your #1 fan 🙌
I had at one point 9 different people I assume were all friends ripping me to shreds because I said Love Struck was Wedding Stories content ripped out into it's own pack.
that’s wild, I’m sorry you experienced that😢 they really do too much!
@@NotMalcolm Its such a shitty shame because I love the Sims. But some members of the sims world are evil grotty little meanies and if I had it my way, I would name and shame every single one of them if I had a platform.
Which is so wild. Those packs suck ass, and they’ll defend it like they will go to war. Delusional people with no life, I swear.
There is a quote I heard once that I use as a mantra: *IF I LOG OFF TWITTER / REDDIT, WILL THIS ISSUE STILL EXIST?*
Like, is this community toxic at all, or are you just stumbling on chronically online people who are worryingly emotionally dependent of a video game?
That's a good point. Because when I meet simmers in real life, they're nothing like these players who are chronically online.
I’m starting to using this too 🤣
See, my question is “why are we attacking each other when EA is *right there*.” The source of everyone’s grief is the same.
Having a job puts things into perspective, the stuff these people live and die for literally doesn't matter
this is so true haha
I got my own "Sims Community." And that's my Sims. XD
REAL SHIT
Tbh the Sims community was chill AF until a crop of new, chronically online users showed up since Sims 4 appeared.
Like I been playing The Sims since Sims 1 and it legit feels like the group got way intense in the last 5 years or so
These folks need to log off and go for a walk.

Sims 4 is the latest, active game in the series. There are going to be more of them here complaining about the game, instead of trying Sims 1, 2, or 3. They're the same ones who would complain that the Atari 2600 didn't age well. I mean, get real. So, I don't think it's strange. @@rosariojailene yeah I was thinking making it free to play had something to do with it also. There are actually some really cool Sims 3 content creators. Harder to find in all the Sims 4 content but they exist. I find Sims 4 makes the most money so for folks who aren't doing it as a hobby, even if they'd rather be playing Sims 2 or 3, 4 gets them more traction. I’m not saying to not listen to constructive criticism, or blindly believing you’re right, but if you know these people want to hurt you, want to get to you, take that power away from them, only u can do it. (Tho that’s better than only others being able to do so.)
Who gives a shit what these people think?
I think it’s insane after the year the gaming industry has had (mass layoffs and livelihoods ruined), people are choosing to defend and fight for EA of all companies. A company that doesn’t even respect their player base and has zero passion or care behind their games now.
That makes me so ☹ to hear people treat you like this. Like WHY?! We all love the sims and should be supporting one another. People nowadays can’t stand any opinion unlike their own. Stay strong and keep on, your channel is gold!!
The Sims 4 community mob mentality is just… yikes🤧 imagine defending a multibillion $ corp like EA over this hot steaming pile of (bare-bone) garbage
Anywayz you’re as real as ever stay slaying king😌💅🏻
Honestly I don’t even think it’s the “sims community” as a whole it’s just “the sims 4 community” who are unhinged. I feel like sims 3 & sims 2 community are pretty chill since we’re so small.
I absolutely agree with you! It's so sad that people always use the term "sims community". Sims 1-3 communities are so chill, calm, and kind. I never see a problem there. People need to start use the term "sims 4 community" because it's the only toxic and brain dead community.
Yes for sure! Theres a huge difference between S4 and other Sims' franchises on Reddit.
S4 reddit just tends to be quite toxic and mean for no reason.
real, sims 3 girlies chilling out
@@hellopixxie The "Sims Community" is pretty much just the Sims 4. The majority of the time when someone is talking about The Sims or its community they really mean Sims 4 since for some people that _is_ The Sims.
I really wish more people would make that distinction when talking about the franchise because as you said the rest of the game's communities are not this unhinged.
agreed!!
you're the anti-sims 4 youtuber i wish satchonsims was
Wdym by he isn’t? I like him and I think he’s anti-sims in a hilarious way😆 I’m not an offended fan, I’m curious
I left the sims community ages ago. Between the hypocrisy, the endless drama over nothing, and more, I just left. I feel so much better tbh.
Lmao same. My unsubscribe button has been putting in the work lately cause fighting over pixels is wild
What did OshinSims do?
@@CheesecakeIsLifeefr. I’m still subscribed to OshinSims but I cannot watch her videos the same like I use to 😢
Noooooooo don't 😢 please. You are one of the only sims commentary Chanel I enjoy watching.
he's gotta do him bb this space has become so toxic for him 😞 some of these folks online would delight in making him miserable all because he dared criticize the greedy ass game they've formed their entire identities around. we could've demanded so much better as a community but folks had to go and bend the knee 🤷🏿♀️
wishing him the best and pirating the game are the best things you can do right now lollll
I don't join communities for this reason so I'm quite surprised by just how toxic this place is.
It's not "The Sism Community" but more of "The Sims 4 Community" because the fasns of the rest of the games aren't nearly as delusional
This is why i just stick to the sims 2 community. I feel like theyre so helpful and all on the same page about hating ea. Then again im not big in the community, but i do love all the amazing creators who are keeping the game alive with new mods ect
Honestly, idk a single community that can't be described as "bullies; cult..."
People are just weird af
The sims 4 community is horrible. All the original sim fans left ages ago. It’s incredible to see that the new sims fans are just as tacky and worthless as the game they worship.
I’ll stick with the Sims 3 and 2 thanks. Never coming back. Never buying the Sims 5
Not all…
Ironically I just discovered your channel today, but I try to make it a habit to follow and regularly watch honest and down to earth reviews and critiques of the genre I love so much. I've watched maybe 3 of your videos so far but you're definitely going to be one of my top 3 life sim channels if you continue to make videos on them, thank you for what you do!
The Sims 4 is certainly one of the most profitable "cults" / pyramid scams of modern times.
Tbh I truly get ick with people claiming themselves "i Am a NeUroDivErgEnT" like that's some achievement of life or something, their behaviour is astrociously dumb
Right?
TBH this all sounds like typical twitter BS drama that plagues EVERY SINGLE other community. My advice? Leave twitter.
Idk why but it seems like the "cozy" types of games tend to have more authoritarian fanbases.
4:58 that’s what I call a “cult behaviour”
This community is so toxic and I blame the so called “veteran” sim content creators for gaslighting the fandom into believing that the game is worth the pennies …
honestly the best thing I did was stop interacting with sims content and the sims community as much as I used to. it's sad because this game has been a part of my life for 11 years, it's one of my longest special interests. the sims community back when I first joined was so welcoming and kind. it's sad to see what it's become.
I loved your content. It got me inspired to play sims so much differently by embracing chaos
Not only that but toxic Sims players harass other simulation game makers over how long they take to develop their games. It's insane.
Sad :( I just started watching your legacy videos
The only ones I argue with about sims is my own sims, when they RUN STRAIGHT TO THE FIRE when I'm trying to keep them away from it, lmao, I'm only in a couple of sims community and I've left SO MANY because of the toxicity and intensity those people exrpress, it's beyond me.
I agree with you about how toxic and sensitive the sims community is. Especially on Twitter. That’s why I left Twitter and I unscribed to a few channels because of it. Sending love and support for whatever you do.
over sexing the brain, damages it.
Sims 4 "community" is a cesspool of chronically online people that demand and expect things to be given to them. Honestly, it's best to move on to whatever the hell you want.
I just heard the wicked whims creator got docxed for not updating his mod so yhea I fully support this video, cause that is crazy
“We removed mother and father and instead we replaced it with parent 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻”
rainbow capitalism 🥰
to add more for wife and husband they coud just add partner, without replacing it. also packs like selvadorada are done with so little effort that it is obvious that they dont care about the diversity and representation.
honestly as a trans guy i wish they made it so that the wife/husband/spouse thing was able to be edited just like the pronouns :/ i know people who aren't cis nor trans and some of them like using wife, husband, spouse, or even simply partner. being referred to as "spouse" reminds me of when i worked in retail and customers were too scared to assign a gender to me so they just reduced me down to "they" or "it", i feel like a lot of the drama about that could've been avoided if it was an editable thing in game and would've pleased both sides and honestly would've been even more inclusive but of course they do the bare minimum because they don't actually care, it just brings in the money
@@kyuubinokitsune2091 You are so right
@@kiittykiiwii You are so right
I genuinely love your Sims content! With all the drama ,bullying going on right now I completely get it. Wish you the best gonna miss your content.
NO I just found this channel! 😦 Your videos are GOLD 😫
Omg malcom my blood boils for you:( i wish you good luck on any future endeavours
Sims 4 stans need to know the difference between criticism and hateful comments
While I did start watching your channel for the Sims 3 content, your personality has made me stay and I look forward to whatever you decide to do next!
