Yay you're back! I want to pretend this show did not happen. This video just unearthed all the buried memories of 2020. My main gripe was why on earth they put these Simmers into roles like "builder", "stylist" and "storyteller"? As a Simmer myself, I do all three of them, maybe a little more on building, but never consider myself just a "builder". I am a Sims player. Period. Quite honestly, the contestants are way more knowledgeable than the judges, so all three judges had no authority to judge these people's work. The drama was so manufactured, the challenges are just not exciting and the Sim UA-camrs really look like they are constantly like deer on headlights and could pass out at any point. Wow, 2020 was sure a dumpster fire huh. This reality show, Batuu and also the dumb hot tub as a free gift..
If the public knew what went on behind the scenes they'd hate this show even more. A friend of mine was supposed to be on it but the production team messed up so badly. My friend (who is a a great youtuber and loved among the community) was supposed to be on it, EA flew her out and everything and then, last minute told her that she was just supposed to be there incase the other person didn't work put, so she was basically an extra. She was devastated and went home with the people who didn't make the second episode. I felt really bad for her and it left a terrible taste in my mouth watching the whole thing. Also aparently the bigger youtubers said no to being on the show.
They.. couldn't even have done build challenges like.. a shell challenge or a sims challenge like a randomizer or.. And what even is the "storyteller" supposed to do? Like just stare at the screen while the sims maker and the builder do everything?
Plumbella talked about the show. I used to keep up with every video of hers, and she offhandedly mentioned in one of her gameplay videos or speedbuilds that she was strugglings so hard in the show. That is was very stressful and all that. Sadly, I have no idea which video that was, but im sure it's around the time the show came out probably.
My first question "Where tf IS Lilsimsie???" and then could you imagine if they had SatchOnSims on that show! NOW THAT WOULD HAVE MADE IT WORTH WATCHING hahaha
My question is, why does EA feel the need to incessantly promote Sims 4? The first game sold what, 175 million units? Sure, they release new DLC for it all the time, but they also bombard us with marketing ploys to "gently encourage" us to buy new packs - to the point that they have that stupid shopping cart button (presumably) permanently welded into the UI, taunting you for having not bought enough content for this game - and as unothorodox has things like this reality show and EA doing Simmers' makeup is, I personally find the shopping cart button to be EA's biggest, most blatant offense. Regardless, though, I've never heard of this "Spark'd" thing until I clicked on this video, and even if I had, it wouldn't've persuaded me into buying more content for Sims 4 - nor would the makeup thing or anything else EA has pulled. You know what WOULD encourage me to buy (more) content for Sims 4? Fixing the game! And I would include chucking that shopping cart button to the wayside like a frisbee as part of that.
Yeah, I kinda liked Sims Sparked. I get what you’re saying though, but the problem with EA isn’t how much money they are spending elsewhere. They have plenty of that. The problem is where they are NOT spending all that money, which is on a stable Simming experience.
@@intri8116 His point was the studio was so cheap that they didn't offer what others on their financial level would; and further, they put up the money without factoring in taxes. So, instead of a million, it's only one hundred thousand; but really, it's not one hundred thousand because it has to be split three ways-- worse still, it's not even thirty three thousand because that amount has to be reduced with taxes.

Those content creators, simmers, influencers* are completely out of touch. Over time, as part of their audience (unfortunately), I’ve realized they’ve grown more arrogant and act like adult children. Despite getting older, some already at an age where you’d expect maturity, they still behave like teenagers. Their shady practices with EA make it clear that all they care about is the money they can squeeze out of the community. If that weren’t the case, why do they blindly applaud everything Electronics Arts does, ignoring the rampant dishonesty of both the company and themselves? Whenever a creator fairly points out what’s wrong with The Sims 4 or that mediocre Creator Network program, which is nothing more than bootlicking EA in exchange for relevance and monetization, they immediately jump to defend the company. Creators like Satch and Malcolm are a genuine threat to the mediocrity and lack of decency that defines this group. Keep up the excellent work, bootlickers will always get offended. "If the shoe fits, they better lace the b** up, idgaf."
agreed, and I like the way Satch and Malcom don't sugarcoat anything with their reviews of the game and DLC. I always wait for Satch to review a new pack before I even consider getting it as the influencers from the Creator Network often hide, or downplay faults in the packs.
I don't know the other people in this video but Plumbella is a treasure and I don't think does the things you're saying. I agree that most Sims influencers like Lil Simsie definitely do that though.
@@ELMor8443 I disagree, we need to be objective. I was also part of her audience for many years, but Plumbella has significantly toned down the intensity and frequency of her genuine criticisms of EA since joining the Creator Network. Although she made significant contributions to the community in the past, and much was accomplished thanks to her efforts, the reality is that her position and benefits within the program create a perception of conflict of interest, making her content feel less authentic compared to the past. There's a reason she's still part of the program. There's a reason she chose to participate in this show, which took a large portion of the money that should have been invested in content they sell overpriced, better quality control and fixing the game with a proper team. Instead, we get this.

It's really unsettling seeing her fanbase in action, cult vibes is the best way to put it. They seem to have this weird parasocial relationship going where they treat her as a literal goddess on one hand, but also like an innocent child that can't defend itself on the other.

as someone who walked away from so called sims community I feel just happy being away from dramas, influencers, sims4 news or anything. all 'friends' I came to know which were 'simmers' either pretended they liked me or never liked me openly. all was fake sadly and plastic fake. I am most happy being away from it and I no longer care for new packs, updates, socializing, sharing sims stuff..... these simfluencers and sims gurus and all, just look at them, all looking abd behaving weird and fake, it's just a sims game, why do we need all this awful plastic dream team promoting and pushing things including how you should behave, what to think in order to be accepted?
I remember when they announced the show I was genuinely looking forward to it until I found out who was on the show and then I knew instantly that I wasn't going to be able to watch it. I like the concept of the show but I don't think it was right that they used simfluencers instead of picking people at random from within the community. I get that they needed people who were capable of doing the challenges but even so, I still think that there was a way to do it with normal simmers. I genuinely can't stand the simfluencers, they're so entitled and annoying.

Now that I've finished the video, I think EA decided to focus on promotion instead of making a real good engaging game. The idea of being more than a video game and all. Unfortunately, the passion is questionable. It's weird.
I actually watched the show at the time it came out (dvr'd it and watched it all at once) with my girls (have five nieces I've infected with The Sims) and at that time our thought was "Is this how they think we play The Sims?" No, that's how simfluencers play, what they do. We felt like they were telling us how we are supposed to play. Or maybe they were trying to uplift simfluencers? The big problem was that they were trying to make a single player game into a group project. Based on how they did it, well we could already do that, download a build from the gallery (player 1), download a sim from the gallery (player 2), and decide on a story and play (player 3, the actual player). My girls and I were unimpressed. We thought it would be like how players made best use of packs or special items or something like that. They didn't even bring up packs or gameplay items or anything, just was basically showcasing the simfluencers. Oh and it was on TBS because no one else wanted to run it. I will say that when my mom watches cooking shows and the music from Sims 1 plays, it freaks me out.
Idk i feel like James is more on the smarter side of the EA creators. Like he obviously still promotes it to some degree, but he keeps his praise/criticism even enough generally, imo. That being said... James mightve gotten me to watch the show lol.
Yeah they made sure to only bring people who would never criticize. As usual. The fake positive facade they are trying to keep up with is going to come crashing down eventually.

I watch Dr Gluon’s streams and he said that the contestants were not told that they would be competing in teams. EA gave them a vague description that they would be part of a game show but all of the details were told to them on camera first day of filming.
This is prolly dumb asl but something screams tax write off to me about the whole sims spark’d show… they hired “disposable” people aka not the big UA-camrs like lil jamesie, they aired the show at 11 pm, and it was poorly coordinated just by taking a look at those online reviews. Pretty sure they went in on the whole thing knowing it was gonna be a flop, designing it to be one, and delivered a flop as intended so that they could show it as a loss. That way they could make up for lost money with the increasing number of people realizing that Sims 4 is a waste of time and refusing to buy packs. Also clock that this came out a month before Journey to Batuu - it’s like they KNEW that pack was gonna flop, so they needed to have a write off as a backup.
I wouldn’t expect lilsimsie to be on something like that. I once tuned into one of her live streams where she was in hysterics crying and scared because the neighbors had a party and they had “to many cars parked outside” so she had to call her brother to confront the neighbor about moving a vehicle or something and the neighbors were so nice they invited her to the party but she was still hysterical shaking like a leaf because she had to have human contact outside of the internet. Idk how you have crippling social anxiety and manage to be a Karen at the same time but she does it.
Plumbella is autistic and definitely seemed pretty out of her element and uncomfortable for the duration of the show, which is pretty unfortunate given that imo her content is usually pretty good and funny. LilSimsie just strikes me as a chronically homeschooled sheltered Christian type lmao
I remember that. I think her neighbours were blocking her driveway that's why she was freaking out. I think she had to drive somewhere after stream. She just has bad anxiety and she mentioned trouble with her neighbours multiple times
Makes you wonder why a person with such crippling social anxiety would even choose to become a streamer in the first place. I mean, being a streamer automatically involves interacting with lots of different people. Anxiety also often comes with the fear of embarrassing yourself, and unlike regular videos, you can't edit streams to hide your fuckups. It just seems like a really odd career choice for someone who has anxiety. I'm not accusing her of faking it, but it seems suspicious enough imo. I can totally see her exaggerating her anxiety to garner some sympathy from her fans, or just to get attention.
@@praiselinny is she neurodivergent? If she is streaming super often she is bound to be emotional on cam at some point, so no judgement there. But I stand by my assertion that she sounds like she was homeschooled lol
You had me cracking up the entire time!!! You are hilarious in the best way possible. I saw the show, I thought I was the only one that thought, they have no idea how to do a competitive show. Such a waste of money, they should fix all the problems with the game.
How do you make a Sims reality show, with the premise of storytelling, but don't invite even one Sims Machima creator? Hello, StreetSimmer and Simsberry exist.
I just watched all your videos about this whole sims thing and I got recommended a new video of another sims UA-camr making a kit pack I can't with these dlc that add to how broken this game is
JUST WOW. That is exactly how I would expect EA to make a TV show competition if they were to make a tv competition. All flashy but nothing really there under the hood. That final challenge is hugely subjective to the judges. How does one judge one from the other. Money. Family Size. What!?! If your going to do a competition have competition games. Like make a rockstar band of sims. You then justify your creations and the story they could have told. Or make a modern mansion. Doing story telling is subjective without some kind of guide like the first team to complete three lifetime rewards. And they can be chosen by a spin of the lifetime reward wheel. So they can get a hard one or an easy one. even more challenging they need to complete one before they can spin the wheel to find out the next and continue with the sim family they have. like that is just from thinking for 5 minutes. Just sad but not surprised by EA
I really love your lack of fucks given. Getting to the nitty gritty, saying the truth regardless of being perceived differently and without the weird comments that Satch tends to use (assuming that people are gonna call him racist/transphobic/sexist is telling that people regularly call him out for that sorta thing online, he’s projecting) you never have an L take in my opinion, and as a Scorpio I love that you are balls to the wall with exposing the truth of the matter. If you have no stans, I AM DEAD. I hope you can rejoin the sims community online somewhere else that isn’t the cesspool of twitter.
The fact they just announced three kits and one is with lilsimsie apparently Its just annoying because I’m like just update the game… let my sims eat at a restaurant without chaos happening. Instead now I see a whole bunch of “discount” codes for 5% chileeeee I don’t need that 5% ain’t nothing, it don’t help us or the creator, it feels empty…. We don’t want a BOARD GAME fix the actual game ugh. The board games in the game ain’t even giving….
I was so angry about EA giving places to already famous and on the payroll Sims influencers that I unfollowed many of those creators. @@Carrots-sb7qo no, he shouldn't, and no, it isn't.

I had no idea who he was, and unfortunately that show ruined it for me.
@@westanimesims It's just so weird they picked him. He's literally the biggest ball of sweet wrapped up in a person. It's like someone looked at the Muppets and said 'Let's make Elmo the villain', it's a weird call.
This reality show, Batuu and also the dumb hot tub as a free gift..
always enjoy reading your comments! ❤️ i forgot about the hot tub debacle haha
lilsimsie actually talked about being asked to be a contestant on this show on twitch years ago lmao
Lilsimsie isn't stupid. Actually, Stepho has a fair few thoughts going through her noggin too, I think she bugged out as gracefully as she could.

Same I never realized they put it on cable 😭 I watch a lot of cable, I would have noticed if it was on in Canada haha
This does have UA-cam Originals vibes. That's not a good thing.
Stephosims leaving because they eliminated her friends only for them to bring back one of said friends is legit hilarious to me xD
It's pretty savage 🤣
I don't even believe EA gave away 100 000 dollars to the winners
Id also be crying if I made the mistake of agreeing to be on a gameshow by EA for the sims. Just saying
Also aparently the bigger youtubers said no to being on the show.
who's ur friend?
I didn't think The Sims as a franchise would have... influencers.
And the game's gone downhill ever since.
They.. couldn't even have done build challenges like.. a shell challenge or a sims challenge like a randomizer or.. And what even is the "storyteller" supposed to do? Like just stare at the screen while the sims maker and the builder do everything?
Lol I remember Plumbella going into a touching story about her poor mining town and her dad and Ninja being like "lol don't care."

I think Stephosims made a video about the drama and actually spilled some tea

He'd be such a good reality tv contestant too, throwing shade and making drama 🤣
@@naluzoniro haha yessss lol
Wow, they did steph0sims dirty on this show.
I feel like she was having anxiety maybe? I get like that when I get it too. Could be wrong though, I can't say that I blame her for leaving.
good for her for leaving
If they wanted a good reality show, they should have put us and the twitter stans in a locked house with cameras and no internet access
honestly that would be peak cinema!! they deprived us of our Emmys
33 grand isnt life changing? excuse me???
The existence of that thing show how desperate EA is.
I don't like any of these people enough to invest my care into their little show, why can't they invest that money into the game itself 🙄
Yeah, I kinda liked Sims Sparked. I get what you’re saying though, but the problem with EA isn’t how much money they are spending elsewhere. They have plenty of that. The problem is where they are NOT spending all that money, which is on a stable Simming experience.
Imagine they have replaced Lilsimsie with little siha at the last minute 😂😂😂

@@ELMor8443 right. Doesn’t Plumbella also blatantly call out how bad things are in TS4 + references Satch often in their videos?
Reminds me of the dungeons and dragons community. Supporting two literally abusive companies through anything

The comment about telling a “story in a game with no story” is dumbest thing I ever heard. This game is essentially a digital dollhouse. You are supposed to create the story. I think a better observation is the lack of tools to create your own story in game.

EA, make a game show starring Simmers who only plays the Sims 4 who’s toxic to anyone who criticizes the game. Versus The OG Simmers who still plays The Sims 2/3 and dislikes The Sims 4. Now that’s something I’ll watch.🍿
Oh HELL yes!
as someone who walked away from so called sims community I feel just happy being away from dramas, influencers, sims4 news or anything. all 'friends' I came to know which were 'simmers' either pretended they liked me or never liked me openly. all was fake sadly and plastic fake.
I genuinely can't stand the simfluencers, they're so entitled and annoying.

when they released journey to batu
TBS has impractical jokers

I watch Dr Gluon’s streams and he said that the contestants were not told that they would be competing in teams. EA gave them a vague description that they would be part of a game show but all of the details were told to them on camera first day of filming.
No lie, if they made a show with Malcom as a host vs sims twitter and influencers id watch it 😂
could u imagine the mess 😂
I remember watching this and it making me legitimately angry at how backwards it was.
You're Sims 4 drama videos bring back my will to live 😭
The clip of League of Legends being played on console made me giggle LMAO
I had no idea this existed, my jaw is on the fucking floor 😭 what were they thinking
Imagine being mean-spirited towards a neurodivergent person for... having uncontrolled emotions YEARS AGO.
@@praiselinny is she neurodivergent?

I was so angry about EA giving places to already famous and on the payroll Sims influencers that I unfollowed many of those creators. Not because I personally dislike them but because I though it was completely unfair. If your going to do a reality TV show competition with cash prizes, why not offer the oportunity to the consumers? Not the influencers who already recieve the games for free.
