  • Follow along as I go up forest service Rd 475 in Pisgah national forest, To Slick Rock Falls. This i an awesome little waterfall that sits fairly close to the road and at the bottom of the trail to looking glass rock. Easy hike, Does include some steps and very slippery rocks to get behind the falls.
    Enjoy! Hope this helps!

Thanks, as always. We haven’t been to Slick Rock in years. We’ll probably give it another look later this week.
If you take requests, we have a couple in Headwaters State Park that are worth a visit.

There is a trail going up the left side of it, that goes to the bottom of looking glass mountain, and if you can climb up the right side you will come out on the main trail.

the cave behind the falls grows bigger every year.

Why and how, would a cave grow?

@@CarolinaOutdoorChannel the rocks on the ceiling of the cave break off making it bigger every year. It maybe from the freezing of the water running over it every year, water gets in the cracks of the rocks then freezes and breaks the rocks off one chunk at a time. But that would be just a guess.

@@altonlynch5464 that makes sense! Do you remember it being noticeably smaller when you were younger or something? That would be wild to notice a change in a lifetime.
