  • Follow along, as we explore a cave we found in the Paint Rock Area of Hot Springs, NC! Back in July we spotted this cave, and decided to wait until the snakes were less active to go searching for it. After a couple hours of hiking and climbing the mountainside, we managed to locate the mouth of the cave and get inside. We would like to think this was used by native people, and we were the first ones to lay eyes on this, for a very long time.We do not recommend this trip to the inexperienced or faint of heart. Enjoy!
Attempt at your own risk!!! This is an extremely high risk trip, and i advise people to not try and follow in our footsteps. . its extremely challenging to find, and really dangerous to get to, and enter. Loose rock and snake habitat everywhere makes it all the more challenging. Happy hiking 😉

I have heard about this cave for about 20 years but never tried to find it but have been in that area along the banks of the river so this was great to see it like that.
Huge thanks to the man who went up in it

I live in Hot Springs NC and that’s not a well it’s a spring. I’ve been all over that area. It was fun watching how you got to the cave. But there is a much more easier way. O well enjoyed the video.

That’s awesome. Have you ever been to this spot? Or seen it from the river?

Those overhangs probably have indian artifacts laying about. I was shown the glyphs at Paint Rock many years ago. I think they have been covered in graffiti now

That's awesome. Great video too. Ill have to check out your others. I wondered if there were caves up there. Any clues you can drop on finding it? Can you see it from the "parking" area at the river?

I've been to it but not inside. The last few steps are hairy AF and I was alone with no gear.
The Chimney Tops Trail in Weavers Bend is the easiest route to get close to it, but that doesn't get you inside. I only know one other guy that's been in the cave, and he used all kinds of climbing gear to go down the hill and inside.
Did you find the pictograph on Paint Rock?
