Spencer, you mentioned the rear sight on that pistol. if there's a rear sight on a handgun, is there automatically a front sight as well?

Yep...the post and notch system is common for almost every pistol and rifle. Shotguns typically have the front sight post only (called a bead). Once the notch and post are lined up the shooter has sight alignment. Once sight alignment covers the bullseye the shooter has sight picture.
