I think it's the way to learn every language. A goals is meaning a continus haby and action.

Repeating Your goals will only helps you focus on achieving them . The idea of doing it everyday creates a subconscious habit that will occur on a regular basis once they are repeated enough ,
Your goals can be dynamic as you make the journey you will be introduced to new concepts and ideas to build or use on the way

Good reminder about SMART goals. I have been working with you guys for a few years and love this method. I am so looking forward to see what the speaking course will be like. I am thinking that I need to get more practice speaking, but I get frustrated b/c many Chinese are expecting me to know a lot of words. I still haven't completed the foundation, but I am on section 31 so it is coming along, especially with Traverse. Keep up the great work all y'all (你们).

In the section you mentioned about speaking simply to get complex ideas across, I find I do this too regularly and it makes more advanced vocabulary that I've learnt suffer and either never get used or slip out of my memory. How should this type of speech be regulated?

The only way we know of to hang on to advanced vocab is lots of immersion and speaking practice, powered by flashcards if you have the time. I forget advanced words in English all the time for lack of use, no need to worry too much about it!

Bro i have a question ,I’m applying for a scholarship in China , do you think it’s necessary to apply for a university in the north ? Or it’s okay to apply for any university in the south because every place have their own dialect and people eventually gonna speak 普通话and that doesn’t really matter ?

Yeah I went to Sichuan Uni in the south and it was all in Mandarin, you’re good either way. That said, don’t only do Uni! Do Mandarin Blueprint as well so you don’t drive yourself crazy with their antiquated teaching methods. www.mandarinblueprint.com
