There’s something about the intro to this song that really gets me every time. It’s just really inviting. It’s a shame it’s not in the studio version but at least I can keep coming back to this. Great band!
Studio version was recorded long before audiotree version (the album BOSSA NOVA was released in 2011). They have been developing their old songs throughout gigs on the road. Personally I'm enchanted by an early gig version of "Little Monkey Rides on Little Donkey" that they played probably only once in Taipei. Shame that they didn't play it more -- I never heard it again. And there's no recording or video of that version. It was one of my sublime moments at gigs. Their music is great in your speakers or headphone, but their live is pure transcending MAGIC.
their live stuff has more beautiful instrumentation and better choices of timbre than their studio stuff. I don't know why or how it happened that way but I love this live version.
