Rachel Zeglers Spellbound HATES Families

- Rachel Zegler is in a new Netflix animation called Spellbound about a family going through divorce. While Rachel Zegler has caused previous scandal around West Side Story and Snow White, Spellbound is causing controversy on it's own. Is this just a case of bad decisions, or an alignment of moral values that the audience doesn't like? Is Spellbound worth watching?

Rachel Zegler has been followed by scandal and controversy across her career, but for once this isn't her fault. Spellbound itself is the one causing the problem here due to it's messaging that it decides to inflict on parents. What's worse is the story uses this theme as a "twist" so that it's too late for parents to realise what it's about until they've already watched most of it and the kids have found out too. But it's not just that they're teaching children that divorce is actually good and beneficial, but that they think it's a beautiful story that everyone should learn about as children. Rather than trying to discourage this, they're encouraging it. This is not the point of fairy tales, and it's wrong to try and subvert them in this way. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)
Her kid is going to grow up to be a real psychopath.
Rachel Zeglers mouth has been followed by scandal
Rachel Zegler, herself, nah, she ain't worth following
She still has chosen to play in it.
Well, she still accepted the role.
She's a vile, disgusting creature.
Spellbound? I have not heard a single peep aboit it until now... I WONDER WHY
Wait 30 years, they will remake it and claim it's a classic. And they will interview kids idolized character and this being their favorite childhood movie.
This video is the first time I heard of it.
Same, legitimately just saw the first mention of it in some kind of ad/trailer thing that was on, seemed neutral/maybe positive and didn't leave much impression. Learning more about it though and that Zegler is involved makes it a hard pass
Right!?! This came out of nowhere, and sounds like it should go back there.
Same. Where did this come from? Not a single word of this movie until now.
UP. That's a Disney/Pixar movie that handled adult themes very well. But they didn’t celebrate them. They viewed them as the losses they were. A couple who had to come to terms with not having children. A man who had to mourn the only family he had. A boy grieving the loss of his absentee father (Russell's dad had a girlfriend and didn’t have time for him.) But the movie didn’t bash you over the head with it and push the idea a "child free" life is a blessing or Russell doesn't need a father in his life. These two characters missing the bits in their life reflected in each other made do and filled those holes as best they could.
Movies geared towards children that handle harsh realities exist. It's just that when adults make them, they don't delude the child or themselves that brokenness is a good thing.
It's left wing propaganda.
No child needs this message.coming from Hollyweird, Don't even try to embellish the story line and message to sell it for the worst category of people moral-wise. Children need positivity and simplicity when it comes to movies. They'll learn about the harsh realities of life outside of Hollyweird"s constant propaganda and normalization of depravity. A no for me and my family!
It is all about how it the topics are handled and that is the problem, people don't or refuse to.
UP is a masterpiece. I was so shocked when I saw it - I wasn't expecting it to be so great.
Lilo and Stitch is the same... I actually find it hard to watch, because it actually deals with brokenness. It's not just a parent who died offscreen and just isn't around. It actually deals with that and the outcomes of it.
If it’s any consolation, families probably hate Rachel Zegler as well
True💯💯💯💯💯
Hopefully because if they still go watch this bs after everything about Hollywood then they definitely need their hard drives checked
My entire family can't stand her!😂😂😂
As they should.
Tbh there is a Disney Princess role she could have played.
I thought Jasmin from Aladin would have exactly her skin- & hair tone.
But oh no... this would have actually been respectful to the scource material and not tried to harass w0k3 cultures favourite demographic. 😏

yup, but somehow she is "net worth 3+ million usd" and they keep casting her in new projects again and again and again.....reminds me of taylor kitsch and jai courtney, failure after failure but some powers were pushing them into AAA budgeted things to become superstars...but nobody liked them....but are still independently wealthy... they should have been stripped of their earnings to compensate the audiences....
That clip where she was like weird weird it was kind of strange, but then I heard Tim Walz Calling people weird now I know where he got it and this isn’t a political thing I’m just saying now I know where he got it.

@radeksparowski7174 she has no future projects in Hollywood. Her next project according to imdb is snow white, so i am pretty sure that her career is over
My 6 year old and I watched this. When I finally realised it was about divorce I was very pissed off. Thank goodness she is quite young, was bored by the end and "the message" went over her head. Don't let your kids watch this.
"The world needs this joyful movie"
-Said with all the warmth of a scolding school teacher.
My kid begged me to turn it off after the first 7 minutes
Waited for it to come on Netflix, got excited about it, love fantasy stuff. Didn't know it was gonna turn out like it did. Wasn't happy. Trailer looked good and I love watching a new kids movie with the kids. But the trailer didn't tell me it was about divorce or we wouldn't have watched it! Can I get our time back, nope!... But we can never watch it again!
I wish I knew before I watched it with my child and her friend. We were all upset when we finally realized what was happening. I’m not saying everything has to be butterflies and roses but there were so many things that should have been handled differently. Would definitely NOT recommend. I should have reviewed it first, divorce should not be normalized!
People really out there letting their kids watch anything from Hollyweird without seeing it first
The way she talks about her co-star Andrew Burnap is completely disrespectful. Explaining because Andrew is a male that he is not important and all his screen time could be cut, '' It's Hollywood baby ''
Imagine if the roles are reversed, And a male actor said this about a female co-star. Saying because the actress is female that she's not important and she could be cut out, It's Hollywood baby. There would be a out cry of sexism.
It's a double standard that she is not bashed in the media for this specific reason.
She sucks as a person. I think her fate was working at McDonalds, But instead where she was suppose to be we have been burdened by seeing Zegler
Yup, I totally agree. She's a part of the group that's supposed to be all inclusive, joy, love, blah blah but only if you believe in EXACTLY what they tell you to, the second you or someone steps out of that box, they turn into the worst side of humans spewing the most awful things I have heard. The hate that came out of her after the election shows how truly vile this person actually is, then made it so much worse by acting like it was all a big oopsie daisy.
That’s most likely the only reason he was even featured in the trailer for damage control of what she said. They probably would have cut him out otherwise because it goes against the girl boss narrative.
Divorces rarely go this way and it is hard for this kids… Man I hate Hollywood…
It's wild. Hollywood is so morally bankrupt they think "oh Divorce is really common! Let's make it something to celebrate"
They're not even trying to hide how evil they are. Seriously, who greenlit this script?
@@paulanderson771 unfortunately, divorces are common, no thanks to Hollyweird and MSM's awful stories.
I had as amicable a divorce as is possible. Our children were still very upset (the youngest was driving and in high school). We waited until we thought they could handle it, but there is no good time and no child ever wants their family to split. It is awful, don't romanticize it.
Hollywood hates kids. Well, the kids who don't swallow, anyway.
Who is Zegler doing 'favours' for?
Failure after failure, flop after flop, yet she keeps getting work.
She's the astroturfed moral exemplar of our corporate overlords. She's virtuous royalty, and you will bow, peasant.
The decisionmakers still haven't got the memo that they can simply create stars like they used to 20 years ago. They still think that known names sell tickets or create views.

From the description of the movie, it lost me before I knew Zegler was in it.

@@MSgt5J071 Sad indeed.
any child that has experienced the divorce of their parents can tell you that this is evil.
How on Earth has a 'Pro-divorce' concept passed the stage of "get the hell out of my office"!?
Just like cuties... Only this one cost more money and the animators who did this might be regreting their efforts.
That a Hollywood dream, baby. Having child support money from two famous ex-husbands at the age of 24. With an open opportunity to extort some more from a few randoms if needed.
Disney made a movie for kids about someone retiring with Cars 3. Then DreamWorks decided they wanted to be Disney and did the same thing with Kung Fu Panda 4. Also Cars 3 was the last Pixar Project where John Lasseter was at Disney to see it through to the end. He definitely had some effect on their later projects I would say up through Onward.

Watching my parents go through divorce and separation made me understand how ugly it is and the psychological effects it can have on the children that are involved if so. My wife also comes from split parents, so we both have negative feelings about divorce. Luckily we both feel like we met our match and have no desire to separate 15 years later with 2 children. We hope our example of a good marriage will encourage them to seek a lifelong relationship and marriage as well.
I don't believe encouraging happiness through divorce as the way to go, as far as messaging to kids in movies.
Divorce should never be seen as a happy occasion. It's a tragedy, it's failure.
The issue has been dealt with in films like Kramer vs Kramer. Don't remember that film being labeled "joyous".
Divorce is joyful for women . The man has to pay them money forever and child support.
I saw this on HBO when I was young, but I don’t remember anything about it except the characters were angry & crying, & it made my stomach hurt. I’ll have to watch it again sometime soon.
Yeah, the movie Irreconcilable Differences was like that,a little more cutesy;Drew Barrymore plays a little kid who decides to "divorce" her estranged parents, but divorce is always a sad and distressing affair, especially when kids are involved. 🤨👍
Funny how that woman said in that interview that the movie is about dealing with real life problems when in reality getting a divorce is walking away from problems instead of dealing with them…
@@VleesetendPlantje14 She's a woman... For her, a divorce means cash and prizes... and more personal freedom, too.
On top of that, it almost always means getting rid of a man that she's come to disrespect... which means he almost certainly "gives her the ick" too.
Divorce is not a good thing, and it never will be. It is something that happens and it’s okay to teach kids how to cope with it, because that’s what divorce is. It’s something that you cope with, not celebrate. I mean that’s like making a fairy tale about how wonderful it is when a friend moves away or when a pet dies.
Cause do you know what a divorce basically is? It’s two people breaking a vow to love each other always, it’s finding out that you don’t love someone anymore or that you never did, and that is heartbreaking.
It’s one thing to teach children to accept something like this but brainwashing them into thinking it’s a good thing? That’s sick!
Children probably shouldn't be taught that families break up all the time and it's completely normal, so don't count on having one for any length of time. Imagine what that message will do to their heads...
It would seem to me that a divorce says to a kid, they stopped loving each other, what's to say they won't stop loving me? Love is love, after all.i would never feel secure in their professed love for me, as their kid, because they said the same thing to each other. Or it might also teach the kid that adults are liars, and selfish. Which is basically true....🫤
Divorces are terrible experiences for the kids. So this is showing how selfish the people involved in this are. Although I wouldn't be surprised if not a single one involved has even had kids, let alone been married.
My mom did everything she could to shield us during her second divorce. She sent us to our grandmother's so we didn't see anything. I was a baby during her first and my sister hadn't been born so she missed it entirely. But that second one would have been a rough one had we been present.
"Divorces are terrible experiences for kids" not all the time. If the parents really do not get along then you WANT them to get a divorce.
"Joyful" is not the word any sane/moral person would use for this process. Romanticizing divorce is something that should only ever come up in the context of comedy, _not a family movie that treats this scenario as a happy ending!_
@@Vaquix000yes but this movies show divorces are good for children all the time in any situation
But I bet they're the daughters of divorce. Their moms left there dads and took the kids with them. Raising them to be incredibly bitter and not trust men because of the lies that mom told.
Also: kids watching this movie - regardless if they have parents going through a divorce or just parents who don’t get along - don’t need to be shown that divorce is normal. Divorce is expensive, and if kids think it’s so easy, yet their parents stay together, it just ultimately sends them an unrealistic message. Not to mention it’s just promoting being selfish rather than sacrifice for your family.
Can you imagine having to deal with her on a daily basis? Yikes
God the thought of it is enough😅
I can fix her!

Sadly, Zegler grew up as a disgusting individual who needs to denigrate others to raise herself up. I wish that she will heal and become better but I don't hold out much hope.
Well in this movie she sings about her parents being monsters so checks out.
I don't see anything short of an actual miracle from God saving her. Followed immediately by joining a nunnery, in the middle of nowhere, without access to Internet or children. Followed by a life of quiet, pious obscurity.
@@Xbalanque84 Yeah, sadly. I wish she would do better but i don't have a lot of hope.
@@kipolem53 Sadly, she is a messed up girl. We can only hope that her life will turn around.
Mrs. Doubtfire, a movie that came out 31 years ago, handled the subject of divorce with more tact than this movie did.
_"Oh, my dear Katie. You know, some parents, when they're angry, they get along much better when they don't live together. They don't fight all the time, and they can become better people, and much better mummies and daddies for you. And sometimes they get back together. And sometimes they don't, dear. And if they don't, don't blame yourself. Just because they don't love each other anymore, doesn't mean that they don't love you_ ."
Kids aren't stupid, they don't want to be talked down to, and they deserve to be given entertainment that reflects that. Funny, I remember that Robin Williams's character said something similar in Mrs. Doubtfire.
I think that’s probably something to do with the fact he had been through a divorce himself and wanted to show that it’s not always negative but can still respectful. I think the director had been as well but I couldn’t be wrong on that one
@@tyrael303 Divorce is *always* negative, sometimes marriages are dumpster fires, but often divorce makes things even worse, which is why I think that movie was quite subversive. I
Do did Liar Liar and a host of others. Sadly, modern writers are bloody twits.
@@dorugoramon0518 Divorce is never really a good thing, but it is usually a thing that's better in the long run, comparatively-speaking, and, as always, kids greatly complicate the matter.
Yea as a kid who grew up with my parents apart that movie helped a lot. Also it helped that it was really funny
Thirty-one years ago, the movie "Ms. Doubtfire" dealt with the same questions and didn't need to normalize divorce to do it. It's the diference between tell a story and preach a message.
Didn't even know about this movie until today

Same lol
Same here.
Given how "joyful" they are about this project, you'd think they'd give it more press...
my parents lived as a happy family with 3 children (or so I thought) and got divorced when I was 3-4 years old. Thankfully, my siblings were 12+ years older than me, which affected them less but still. Now I know that they had problems they were not able to discuss together due to their reasons and much more stuff had happened, but nevertheless - this is a disasterous thing for a kid, no one is fucking happy. Even if the happiness comes in a while (years) to parents it might not come to the child. First time hearing about this movie but I am so angry with it.
Mrs. Doubtfire probably still has the best representation of divorce. It acknowledges the downsides of it, but also the reasons why people feel they need to do it and showing that it doesn’t mean the parents blame the child in any way.
Massively agree
Perfect example 💪🏻
It also has great gay jokes
Personally going back to that movie and seeing how the father had to fight to see his kids when he was a great father, makes me think the opposite of what you think about divorce. Men get the raw end of the deal in divorce, 90% of the time.
And how well has encouraging divorce been working out?

The title of the movie was originally ‘What can be unburdened by what has been’.
Family watches the movie. The kids go "WE DON'T WANT YOU TO GET DIVORCED!!!!!!!!". If you aren't contemplating divorce, why would you let your kids see this movie? This movie is to soften the kids up for one. If you are already divorced this movie won't help. If you aren't this movie is going to ruin your day.
Glorifying divorce? Glorifying what exactly about divorce? That a man will get fleeced for half his property he worked hard for, half his bank account, and has to seek his own home, again? That's an uplifting Victory movie? Children's parents separated, and that's an uplifting movie? Enough.

Well, as per usual, Tolkien tackled this subject much better. In Unfinished Tales, the story of Aldarion and Erendis portrays a separation that is anything but celebrated. Their marriage falls apart due to Aldarion's broken promises and his prolonged seafaring absence, which led Erendis to lose faith and move to a new home surrounded by bitter women and their daughter. When Aldarion finally returns, he is heartbroken to find the family shattered. Inspired by his daughter's spirit, he names her the next ruler of Númenor, but his relationship with Erendis remains unresolved.
What makes this story so powerful is its nuance. Aldarion's absences weren’t frivolous; he was working with the Elves to prepare against Sauron. However, he never confided in Erendis, and their inability to communicate led to a tragic outcome. Tolkien doesn’t shy away from showing the heartbreak of their separation-Aldarion lamenting that he wished Erendis had come back ‘in a huff’ rather than refuse to set aside her pride is devastating. The tragedy lies in how much they loved each other but were too proud to have an honest conversation.
As someone who has volunteered at women’s abuse centers and witnessed real, concrete reasons for divorce, this framing in Spellbound is an affront. Divorce is sometimes a necessary and painful escape, but to present it as a celebratory outcome strips away the gravity of such situations. This approach diminishes the struggle and emotional toll that real-life separations entail.
I grew up loving films like The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which showed that animated films can handle complex, even morally ambiguous themes. However, those themes were clear from the outset, allowing parents to decide if the content was appropriate for their children. With Spellbound, the final act surprise of glorifying divorce as a happy ending robs parents of that choice and risks normalizing something that should be approached with care, empathy, and understanding.
Tolkien’s story shows us that separations, especially those driven by miscommunication, are not triumphs-they are tragedies. And that’s the lens through which such themes should be viewed, not as the magnum opus Spellbound seems to believe.
There are very few ways to tell an audience that they "need this joyful movie" in a meaner more threatening way.
Very cringe

I think Mrs. Doubtfire does the best representation for divorce in that it happens, why it can happen, how it looks for everyone in the family. I love that they emphasize that its not the kids fault since children tend to do that.

As one who has grown up as a child of an "amicable" divorce I can tell everyone that even if your parents can communicate without trouble its NOT a pleasant experience. I grew up in what I refer to as a cold war, my parents communicated and was kind to each other, but underneath there were always tensions.
Its not fun having two birthdays or two Christmases', yeah yeah the presents are nice, but the one thing I always wanted was for my parents to be together, to celebrate together and to not live hours apart. Everyone is always quick to say: "Well, isn't it better than your parents fighting all the time?" Yes, of course its better but it still hurts like h***. It still ruins the family that should be showing the child what a family can be and should be in the ideal situation...
Its not "fun" or "normal", its not a "fairytale" - its a harsh reality that children deal with every day and this is so wrong. We dont want to normalize the hurt children feel when their parents get a divorce. Its not something that children rejoice about! I dont know who thought of this, but if I had gone to see this with my small cousins I would be so angry - I dont want them to experience just a fraction of a divorce...

As a child who went through a divorce with my parents when I was too young to understand it, and now with lasting trauma as an adult - To hell with the people who made this movie. It is NOT empowering, it is NOT beautiful, it is NOT a "feel good" story. I've had it with woke women thinking they get to tell MY story and say that it EMPOWERS me. No, it CRIPPLED me and I am still dealing with the trauma to this day. There is absolutely NOTHING beautiful about divorce, or the lasting impact that it leaves on children. FOR. SHAME.
My parents divorced when I was a baby and I never had any memories of them together. It often sucked having to pack all my stuff and move between houses each week. My dad making passive aggressive complaints about my mom when I came back in the wrong clothes. The confusion around the holidays alone was a nightmare.
I don't know why people would want to depict divorce as something beautiful. The best I'd give it is at best a sad turning of the page to a new chapter in life.
@@Sarcastic_Sophist I hope that you were able to find inner strength and self value despite your struggles. It's never easy being pulled in two different directions by people you are expected to love and trust. Best wishes to you.
@@stygianink1821 Well self value will be hard to come by. I let me issues turn me into a grade a piece of garbage for a bit. However, putting a lot of time (several years) into unlearning those bad behaviors and such.
The only Spellbound I've ever seen, and will ever see, is the Alfred Hitchcock version!
Wonder why they used the name was it intentionally throwing shade? Disney's way isn't it destroy the name and the man's memory will fade.
0:51 watching a person so depressed and angry they want to kill people, tell me about how the world needs this joy, is so perfect. Her delivery is like getting glass slivers up your fingernails. She is like Zegler ,only older and far more bitter. Reusing that meme, over and over, was perfection.
Demonic possession is real. Surprised she wasn't spinning her head and vomiting.
Demonic possession is real.
Tbf, Disparu, this film would be a great lesson to any man who somehow ends up married to Zegler. Divorce might save him!
😂
😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My parents divorced after 21 years of marriage when I was 17 years old and yet I have been married for just over 35 years... So their divorce did not stopped me from having a happy marriage but I'm still hurting for the failure my parents experienced... I do not wish it on anyone and certainly no child should have to be exposed to it!
Shame on Rachel Zedgler, the director and the makers of Spellbound!
(serious tone) "The world needs this joyful movie"
...Seems joyful.
(Though she did seem more upbeat after.)
@@Oblithian That's the face of "sour slide"
Did not know Maxine Waters had a twin
“The time would be easy to know, for then mankind would have become as the Great Old Ones; free and wild and beyond good and evil, with laws and morals thrown aside and all men shouting and killing and revelling in joy. Then the liberated Old Ones would teach them new ways to shout and kill and revel and enjoy themselves, and all the earth would flame with a holocaust of ecstasy and freedom.” - HP Lovecraft
JOY!
While speaking at a Harris rally, Al Sharpton straight face chanted 'Joy' to the audience. Got the same vibe from her!
What’s next?
A full length animated musical film about the starving kids in Sudan? Or is that too light of a topic for them?
While not divorced, her eyes are separated.
They share custody of the tiny walnut between them.
"Whats Cocomelon?" Oh, you sweet summer child...
My thoughts exactly. The more people don't know about that creepy show, the better.
@@MaesterMike or maybe it's better they do know so they can stay away and warn others to do the same
that show and the fact that they decided to force it on cartoon network, is one of the main reasons i no longer watch CN on directTV. I used to leave the channel on 24/7 because it had content I either enjoyed or tolerated. Plus it would allow me to catch adult swim. But I refuse to subject myself or my pets to that garbage.
6:19 It's a 212 year old classic published in 1812 by the Brothers Gimm. It was 125 when Walt Disney got his hands on it. At least Walt kept fairly true to the original.
It dates back even further than that
Had a sibling watch it and he straight up told me that it was nothing but garbage. I also love how some people defend Rachel saying she isn't a narcissist but in all reality she is straight up the definition of one. It's comical that anyone would defend her.
When the Banshee who kept wailing "And the world NEEDS this joyful movie" at us finally see's how the movie does financially, well, that is when we'll hear the kind of wailing we find vastly entertaining.
The countdown to being called racist and sexist has begun.
LOL You think she cares about money? This is clearly just ideological/an ego trip for her.
@@Xbalanque84 You talking to your imaginary friend about money makes these lefties more stable than you are.
In the very definition of fairytale, divorce is nowhere to be found.
And the fact that they’re pushing it, pushing divorce, shows how little respect they have for the nuclear family.
Unless that TV show ends in them working out their differences and reuniting as a family, I don't see what would compell people to watch.
They do reunite as a family, just not with the parents as a couple. The message is about acceptance, and not being afraid of change or losing your parent's love. I don't think it glorifies divorce as some claim.
@@lauraw2526everything you just said glorifies divorce. It says it's not a bad thing when it is. Even when it goes the best it is still a bad thing for the child. You're literally putting lipstick on a pig and calling it a beautiful woman. Stop that.
Divorce hurts children more than the death of a parent. It’s evil, selfish ; horrible!
What a stupid thing to say.
I'm absolutely giddy for the "Sleeping with kids is totally OK folks, reaaaallly" - disney movie. Would be the final step on their demasking journey.
What are the odds it's already in production?
It will be about “MAP”…..minor attracted people bullsh*t.
Probably already done but was shelved until they thought the political climate was just right. After this election they’ll be holding onto it for a bit longer.
Hopefully, it comes before Iger steps down as CEO of Disney so he can't blame it's dismal failure on anyone but himself, the director, the producer and the idiots who actually green-lit the project. Watch the reviews bury the film, it lose an inordinate amount of money (like several of their other recent "films") and when the stock price takes a 10-15% drop in one day maybe, just maybe they'll finally realize this shit has to stop.
I heard a quote say that “All happy families are alike; all unhappy families are unhappy in their own way.”
How many ways are in Spellbound I wonder?
We'd better just ignore her.
We've been leading up to moments like this since F eminism became "normalised". Divorce is evil especially when it has overwhelmingly destroyed everyone involved. The children become broken, the mothers become worse people and the fathers get Divorce graped and unspawn themselves at record rates because of this.
I'm going to await "Pitch Meeting"''s video on this movie.
If I were going to show a kid a movie about divorce, it'd be Mrs. Doubtfire. It definitely wouldn't be this.
Mrs Doubtfire did the divorce story pretty well
Hollywood is really out of touch, anyone with a brain could tell you that post modernist themes of nihilism and despair is out of vogue. If this movie was about two struggling parents considering divorce but then healing their marriage it would be a billion dollar animated movie.
its not just that but the movie destroys its own message. it talks about working together and being their for each other only for the parents not to be able to cooperate at the end of the movie
I heard it doesn't even have good songs although I have to say it is weird for Zegler to sing about her parents being monsters considering how she turned out.
This is no kids movie - it's for adults who want to feel better about their poor life decisions.
When I was a kid in the late 60s, 70s, I made up my mind that I'd never marry a child of a divorcée. I'm not religious, but even then I could see that divorce leads to a mindset of failure and giving up.
And of course glorifying divorce. And then women wonder why men are just done with them or taking them serious lol.
Because of propaganda from the wealthiest elite that holds ordinary happiness in contempt? You'd think a man would understand why that's a dumb reason to tar half of the human population.
@@MemoristCed Not when half the population tends to largely accept said message (or at least DID for the past few decades and I do mean DECADES, not just decade) vs. the other half that has always more anti-establishment or harder to advertise too... Just saying.
@@HonkHonkler All right, I agree that YOU should definitely stay away from women as much as you possibly can. You should probably try to avoid other men, too, just in case they aren't anti-establishment.

It's been trickling down culturally for decades. And now we are on the verge of collapse.
Rachel Zegler's reflection is very much inspired by the message of Spellbound.
Nothing about the actual story... Just the feeling we should have watching it. Selling a nightmare as a fairy tale. I'm wary of anything she stares in as it's usually not good.
Astroturfing total moral inversion.
Does anyone remember a cartoon called the cramp twins.
Where a kid had to keep moving between his divorced parents, and one of the main characters thought that meant he got double the presents for his birthday. So he tried to spilt his parents up.
Until that kid tells him just how *miserable* that kind of life was?
You're incredible, don't stop creating videos!
Word association game with her will always be WEIRD
Yeah… this movie is pretty much the solidification of my thoughts on how out of touch with reality Hollywood is (and likely how parents should review content before letting their kids watch garbage like this). Such a delicate topic to break to children, but nah, just Disney’efy it and normalize what most kids would consider tragic loss and pain, stuck between two parents who don’t love each other anymore.
So, what bothers me about this is it’s just proof that society is trying to normalize divorce. The entire point of marriage is that you do everything you can to work through fights, life events, hard times as a team even when it’s hard. This movie’s message is, “give up, it’s ok it better to separate than it is to go through hard times and feel bad”. And if marriages can’t last due to fighting, then what can?
No matter what spin we try to put on it, no matter how justified or necessary a divorce may be, it is ALWAYS a failure that we must address in our lives...
Love it -- that interview makes your skin crawl. Love you bud, and glad you're get the smash cut over the R word. I sort of miss the Acolyte and still chuckle when in E01 with your salmon with the gun cracks when what's his name exits the shuttle.
Movies are like craft beer. If there is a long explanation of why they made the beer and how special the ingredients are, you know that it will be too hoppy.
Its beyond typical for Hollywood to take something virtuous and heroic like putting the wellbeing of your children ahead of your own childishness and narcissistic bickering with the person you avowed you 'cherished' and 'loved' "through sickness and health" and "until *death* do you part".
Nah. That sounds like work. Just call it quits.
"No wonder there's [sic] some people trying to eradicate intolerance and hate. Because they deserve it!"
That's a great quote. 11:24
As someone with divorced parents, now twice... Yeah, not better mentally per say.
I saw spellbound on Netflix, I didn’t watch it - I just pressed an immediate dislike button.
This deserves way more views!
After a year of remakes of movies and sequels that were generally crap or completely unnecessary, finally a movie with an original script comes along and it's about indoctrinating kids about divorce!
Then to top it off, it has Hollywood's most "charismatic" actress of the moment starring in it!
Wow! No wonder the film industry looks like it's on its last legs.
Literally never knew this movie existed.
My son literally told me that the message of the movie is if you don't get along, you can just get divorced. I was a bit surprised since I watched the first part with him and thought it looked cute. He's 10 and is allowed to watch rated R movies as long as I have okayed it and we watch it together. So he's seen Aliens, Predator, Die Hard, Speed, World War Z, and so forth. I am starting to feel more concern over kids movies that have this subversive moral messaging than outright violent or scary content where he clearly understands the difference between good and bad. Right now we are working our way through the Rocky movies, and I am much happier with that messaging than the current movies made for children.
Oh, so you're raising an anti-intellectual fascist! Cool, you're on the right channel!
Rachel must have one hell of an agent ... crap after crap, but she still gets work.
if there's a product where the people working behind it are praising it to no end before the consumers have a say, then it's a warning
"Daddy, is mommy a w***e" fucking killed me 😂
Wanna know something funny. In all the trailers I saw you couldn't see that the parents were arguing. They seemed to get along just fine, wonder why they decided to leave such an important part out of the trailers
I think the point of the movie is that an unhappy marriage is actually harder on a child than divorce is. I know from experience; my parents' divorce was THE BEST thing that ever happened to me. It changed my life forever. I prayed for it for 14 years. If only they had done it sooner. 😢 However, I still agree that this is kind of a silly idea for a movie! 😄 They really have run out of ideas in Hollywood. Now they prob just tear a page out of an old Mad Libs! 😆
I think it just sits better maybe as something aimed at adults and going for thought provoking rather than sing and dance. Appreciate your reasonably worded comment.
It’s different for every family and kids.
I wouldn’t generalise it like that
