I remember her character Julie’s death really shocking me at the time. I don’t know why but I quite liked her character too, but when I watch old episodes now I don’t know why as she was a total battleaxe lol
The Martins were like a real family. I was the same age as Hannah, so I kind of grew up with them in the 90s. I was utterly devastated when Julie died. I've never known a more life-like death and aftermath in any TV show.
Neighbours never took itself too seriously unlike other soaps and always had a light comedy element to it. It was harmless fun and it produced alot of very likeable characters and big stars. Many of it's stars have settled in the UK after leaving the soap and even while still in the show were tied to the UK like a second family on the other side of the world. It's sad news it's finishing nearly everyone has memories growing up of it.
I hope Neighbours can be saved from the axe as I've watched it from a very early age I first heard the theme tune when I was in my mum's tummy as a baby and I only would calm down as a young child if I was in front of the TV as neighbours was on it was on BBC 1 at that time. It is and continues to be one of my favourite soaps and I hope another channel picks it up as it would be a tradgedy if it ended. Lets get neighbours to 40 years come on guys.
I reckon final episode (storyline) they would have been promoting street party for all former residents to come back to, everyone having barbecue in street and Karl gathers everyone together gives big speech and says" can you raise your glass to good neighbours "everyone shouts good neighbours and it pans out the party with everyone. With the Camera panning upwards looking down on street.
The disappointing thing is that channel 5 didn't take home & away down it should of been them to leave definitely NOT neighbours, last one in first one out & that was home and away
Huge part of my childhood, I'll be heartbroken even though i don't watch it , on a positive note , I'm sure a lot of the old cast could be persuaded to make an appearance on its last hurrah even if it amounted to little more than a Zoom call , imagine Kylie , Jason , Margo Robbie , Natalie Imbrulia , Delta etc like a soap equivalent of a Marvel crossover
it's like looking back at the motorway from the other side,...u just know what's next....it's a shame that everyone is leaving a sinking ship (bbc), but more to the fact that channel 5 couldn't save neighbours...not about the money, it's a shame that neighbours is ending...so is channel 5 going to be going through the privatisation phase next? it's clear that many people particularly remember when it was a "get home from school to watch", thanx to the daughter of a certain mr grade....i met mrs mangel and the second lucy in exeter uk..- they opened an estate agents - got the autographs somewhere
As an Australian I can't understand the popularity of this show in the UK. I find it so not Australian and paints the the wrong picture embarrassingly. It hasn't rated very well over here for years, it would have been gone a long time if it wasn't for its popularity in the U k.
I'm sure there are many people that would say the same about our own soaps. Is EastEnders an accurate portrayal of life in the East End of London? Probably not. There is still an audience for the show, albeit significantly less than during the 80's and 90's. Would it be more interesting to see something more realistic? For sure.
It's funny how no one can pick it up, so no one has the money anywhere to take it up again. What about the actors like they wouldn't have the money 😂😂 they could put in for it together if they really wanted it to keep going. There would be plenty of people who could keep it on air, I mean come on.
Loved Julie Mullins Character such a good actress was gutted when they killer her off. Really nice person too and looks fabulous
Agree she was an incredible actress so much range and I enjoyed her character immensely. And yes she's aged fabulously.
@@rayoflight6505 I miss Sonya and Harold

Yes the aftermath was brilliant. To the point where I forgot they were acting. Nowadays characters get over a death in a few days! 🙄
Better days back then....It's been shit the past 10yrs or so....
Totally this!
😢 plz save neighbours
i miss her in neighbours
Amazing actress and great interview
We are going to miss them after all
Most dramatic time was When Scott passed he driving lesson in his' I think blue Datsun and it swirved and started to tumble.
I think it should end by Daphne waking up from her coma in the hospital, with Des sitting by her side, and telling him she had the strangest dream...
What a lovely person..wish they hadn't killed her character off, it would be great to have her back on the show now.
She wanted to come out of it hence why she was killed off x
Just watch the time travel neighbours on UA-cam. Her character is in a parallel universe where she didn’t die.
@@startracker5895 l watched it, her turning up was the highlight for me.
She's lovely, her character was a bit of a c*nt to be honest. Loved to hate her
@@MarjjorieDawes she had her good points though. Like loving Debbie like she was her own daughter. And she could be humorous at times.
Julie Martin is Jim Robinson was her dad in Neighbours .

The BBC should save it
Yea that is why she also said about the BBC to being it back as we all know was the original channel it was on!

Although I’ve not watched it for a while, neighbours deserves to be saved. If we can tolerate eastenders we can save Ramsay street !!!
Julie was a fabulous character. It lacks these strong females. From Mrs mangle to Julie. There’s nothing.
The presenters clearly don't remember Julie's character at all!
I reckon final episode (storyline) they would have been promoting street party for all former residents to come back to, everyone having barbecue in street and Karl gathers everyone together gives big speech and says" can you raise your glass to good neighbours "everyone shouts good neighbours and it pans out the party with everyone. That's been done already for the 20th Anniversary I think
The disappointing thing is that channel 5 didn't take home & away down it should of been them to leave definitely NOT neighbours, last one in first one out & that was home and away
damn Julie stills looks good
BBC should save it.
As Julie said, Neighbours does comedy "ceramic pig" C stories better than any other show.
Do not axe Neibours please as it feels you are axing part of my life
I would like to see neighbours on ITV I’d like to enable bye-bye please save neighbours and neighbours is a really good show to watch
I do not want to imagine my life with out Neighbours.😥
It will be like losing my best friend. 😥😥😥
Please save Neighbours. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

She’s gorgeous. Julies long-lost twin needs to come back.

Wasn't that woman talking in prisoners?
No

Such an obvious dummy they used for Cheryl getting run over! 🙈😂
She lived in one of my partners flat , which she is friend of, meet her twice
