Got mine a couple of weeks ago at the G Shock boutique in NYC. I love the look and the Bluetooth features.
>You can set the backlight to 2 seconds or 4 seconds in the app. I don't know if you can even set the "backlight time" on watch. But awesome and worth it to have the backlight set to 4 seconds honestly.

There is definitely something kind of retro funky cool with this all gold metal G-Shock square. One of the rare all gold watches I might have fun considering. Something about this reminds me of something that could be worn in the old 80's Buck Rogers tv series. If you've ever watched and familiar with that show, you may agree it has that kind of future flash which they draw a bit from late 70's to early 80's that seems like this watch would be very comfortable in that setting. That being said, and I've said this before, G-Shocks, particularly any square model, transcends any time period and can always be in fashion as far as I'm concerned.
They have a cool version on the black rubber/resin band which looks pretty cool, too.. but, that may be a limited edition.
Lastly, going off on limited edition G-Shock squares.. I REALLY like the new GMW-B5000V with the worn metal look. Super cool. and for $1k?! one of the priciest G-Shock metals out there.. or will be out there. But, THAT would be the one for me I'd want to get. And, I think if it is really limited edition, and just that finish, it would probably gain in value before long, I can imagine. Not that that really matters to me. But, it would be good to know that the value if I tried to sell it later would be at likely at least as much as I paid for it, if not make some $$. That's my speculation as far as the cost to own one, even for a while, is concerned.
It's way toned down and doesn't have any high-polished areas (that I am aware and can see) and I just love how weathered it looks. I was thinking of getting the all black version and just sanding it down to achieve the same look for less than 1/2 the price. But, I'm not sure how resilient the coating is on the g-shocks and it may be a lot harder to get the same look than I am imagining.
I will admit that one is pretty sweet!
The gold version looks incredible, but I'd be worried about it scratching and wearing down over the years. The steel version doesn't have the issue of wearing down to the base metal, but it doesn't have the glorious look of gold. It seems silly to baby a G Shock for fear of scratching the finish. First world problems, eh.
Just bought this today. Super happy! Color looks so different under natural light.

I wanted a gold rolex but im give this a try to scratch the itch for a gold watch. Maybe save a bunch of money.
if you scratch or scrape a real gold watch it makes you feel sick, trust me. I would much rather damage this one.
okay.... Bruce you really messed me up ahah! I just went and bought it. I am purely in love! I dont tbink I will wear it much but damn is this a sick watch!! I think Seiko should use push bard for sizing. This bracelets is amazing and that’s coming from luxury watches!
In person it can looks like 40% gold, 50 bronze, 10 sliver ( depends on the lighting and angles.)
Amazing G-Shock!Of course,it's not for every day use and you must be really careful when wearing it.For me-my favorite one is GMW-B5000-1JF

Very nice watch. I have the black one, and I actually like the bluetooth feature as I don't get the atomic time sync where I live.

I think that the negative display has a brushed gold bracelet but the positive 35th edition has polished gold bracelet

I saw this watch stainless at Macys and thought it looked very nice.
Bought one to go with my ups uniform. Its so nice dont know if i want to scratch it up.
Titanium would be awesome. Light weight, scratch resistant, tool certified! 'Nuf said.
Casio made a titanium version, more than twice the price of the gold.

Why wouldn't you want to be able to use the phone finder function? Or the personal locator function? Also it is much easier and quicker to make adjustments to the watch thru the phone app.

Good vid. In my 50,s now and tried to get back into auto,s, but despite my love of mechanics have ran back to quartz in particular Casio! Still cool but prefer analogues? The mdg b1000 ......Pretty sexy and my current grail? Casio is a unique brand that arguably run rings around alot of watchmakers? Cool,reliable and versatile? Cheers,Len.

Tried this on the other day. Was underwhelmed by the bracelet, to me it felt too lightweight. Now drawn to the black strap version.
So which one should I get? Leaning towards Resin band, but the Gold and Silver are very intriguing. Hmmmm....

I doubt it. Any coated G-Shock I've had has held up perfectly. Of course if you gouge it bad I'm sure you'll see the base steel

In America there’s a lot of people who care about their right to own a firearm and there’s a lot of people and organizations that want to restrict or abolish that right. When I saw the camouflage hat I thought he might be someone who supports the 2nd Amendment and the military. I was genuinely interested in the watch (I actually own this watch now) but I also used this as an opportunity to let him know that the team he supports is actively trying to restrict one of his rights. This comment was almost 2 years ago so I don’t know what was going on in the world at that time to make me bring it up but as I’m sure you know this country is divided due to a lot of issues that hopefully we can eventually move past. That being said I will never give up my right to defend my life, the lives of my loved ones or the freedom of our people to criminals and tyranny. I thought he may be a like minded individual as well if he had the information. I hope that somewhat explains my line of thinking at the time but as I said it was a while ago. Btw I love them old school BMWs. I lust after a clean E30. It’s one of my dream cars. Peace✌️

I've got the stainless and black IP one, you're making me jones for this. Just not sure if I can pull it off. That said, I agree with wearing it everyday, beating it to hell, and enjoying the character that scratches bring. After my stainless steel one gets beat up, I'm going to have it sandblasted.
